Strengths:
Rip and Tear: Anyone not wearing lightsaber resistant materials or is in someway lightsaber resistant themselves is pretty much doomed. In addition, if a small amount of blood is fed to a special mechanism within, it becomes more damaging to lightsaber resistant materials and cuts through other materials easier for a few minutes.
Flexible: Special machinery allows the blade to operate as either a standard lightsaber or lightwhip. In addition other settings allow the blade in ether mode to extend or retract by a third, and to become intangible temporarily, as well as a non lethal stun mode.
High quality: The blade will not short out in either mode from repeated contact with other sabers, and grinds lightning extremely well in standard blade mode. It will also not activate for any but Maranon.
Unpredictable: The Lightwhip is quite possibly the least understood of the saber variants. Able to confuse conventionally trained duelists gives Maranon a distinct advantage in battle, even against duelists of many years experience as many are simply not trained to defend against the weapon.
Weaknesses:
Cortosis: Cortosis will short the blade if in contact.
Water: Water will short out the blade
Voids: Voids will prevent the blade from working
Slugs: Slugs go through the blade same as normal
Sonics: Sonics go past its blade also.
One or the other: The saber must be adjusted before battle to be either a standard blade or lightwhip...it cannot transition between the two, ensuring Maranon must choose her battles carefully as well as how she fights them, as she struggles in nearly every aspect of saber combat beyond the lightwhip.
Weak defense: The Lightwhip cannot block and can only somewhat parry through clever blade manipulation, forcing Maranon to rely on constant mobility and offense. If either of those two main aspects of her battle strategy suffer she would be in extreme danger while using the lightwhip function.
Vulnerable to Jar'Kai: Someone using two blades could use one to ensnare Maranon's whip and try to attack her with the other.
Taint: Emits a strong dark side taint that cannot be hidden.
DESCRIPTION
Maranon's personal Sith Lightsaber, crafted during her rule as Queen of Katanos Seven in its ancient past. Unlike other Sith Lightsabers, this produces a bright yellow blade when activated due to the materials used in crafting its high quality synth crystal, which, when paired with specialized machinery, allows the saber to grind lightning excellently in battle, become intangible, extend or retract by a third of its length in either setting, as well as become her main specialty weapon, a lightwhip. While used only rarely, when brought to battle the Crown of Katanos is an extremely deadly weapon that should make anyone wary of having to face it, in spite of its distict limitations in battle when wielded by Maranon.
