Mara raised an eyebrow at Elizabeth. She was certainly not expecting to be talking about the Sith Empire of all things, or just Sith in general. If anything, she was expecting to discuss potential targets within Nar Shaddaa.

But the fact the conversation had immediately jumped to Sith?

It surprised Mara, and intrigued her.

"Hmm..." She sank back into the chair, fingers interlocking with one another as the agent thought on the question. Mara had learned long ago that keeping a finger on the pulse of the galaxy was a must if you wanted to remained informed of the larger cogs. Many of the factions moved in large swathes, not bothering to be subtle about it.

The Sith Empire was certainly one of them.

"Well, they've somewhat recently entered the galactic scene. Formerly the Brotherhood and Ascendency, before they merged into the Empire." There was other bits of information she knew, such as the current Dark Lord, but those things were fairly common knowledge to the public. Although she had gleamed certain facts from her initial investigations, while managing to avoid the Sith Empire's own spies.

"But it would depend Miss Castille, on what exactly it is you want to know."

"Everything." She stated plainly.

The Sith were more of a threat than most criminals realized. There was a certain amount of safety when operating in quadrants of the galaxy controlled by the Silver Jedi or the Galactic Alliance. They had a justice system, they had courts, and they had officials that could be bribed. The SIth?

Not so much.

Working within Sith territory could be exceptionally dangerous. At the word of one mad man you could be put to death for no reason other than scuffing his shoe. The entire thing was absolutely insane, but of course, there was also quite a bit of profit to be had. Elizabeth had no intention of expanding here on Nar Shaddaa, not past the promenade, but she saw opportunity in the further reaches of the galaxy. In playing games with people who were not used to others playing.

"I am a Neutral party here." She waved. "I intend to stay that way."

On Nar Shaddaa. "But I see opportunity within this rising little Empire to our North."

"And that's what you want me to do?" Mara had a particular look in her eyes, one where she was mentally bouncing the pros and cons back and forth - at least the ones that immediately came to her mind. "To gather information on the Sith Empire?" Her tone was indicative to what Mara thought about the idea.

It wasn't going to be easy.

"The other piece of information I did glean from my initial searching, concerned the civilians that fall under their banner." It had been an interesting find, one the agent hadn't expected given how Sith had acted in the past, specifically their old factions and groups. "They're well looked after, given rights and protections. A distinct lack of enslavement and oppression. It's I believe one of the Empire's main driving forces, how they've managed to expand with little rebellion from those they've conquered."

Once you were a citizen of the Sith Empire, you fell under their protection where not even one of their own were allowed to mess with you. It sounded pretty damn good, but that was from an outside perspective, for all Mara knew it could be just propaganda they spread out to the galaxy.

Then again, if Elizabeth was going to be sending her to Sith Space she was going to find out whether that was true or not.

"I take it then, that your goals are to expand out within the Empire's territory?" At least that's what she gathered from how the woman spoke. That, and Mara didn't bother voicing how dangerous such a thing could be. "I can help with that, but I work better with specifics - what particular areas of information are you looking for?"
