OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To Create a New Species
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: N/A
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Rhavaniel
  • Designation: Sentient
  • Origins: Hurikane
  • Estimated Population: Inter-Planetary
  • Description: The species presents a horrifying appearance with their bulbous eyes, black hardened carapace bodies, and sharp looking mandibles. They are short in stature, and despite their appearance, are not dangerous physically.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I, II
  • Average Height of Adults: 1.2 meters
  • Average Length of Adults: N/A
  • Skin color: Black Carapace
  • Hair color: N/A
  • Distinctions: There are only three main distinctions that separates males from females that quickly stand out to any that look upon them. The first is the males have red bulbous eyes and they have an extra antennae on their heads, whilst their antennas are much longer than their female counterparts. The females have blue eyes.
  • Races: N/A
  • Force Sensitivity: Rare
Strengths:
  • Extremely Intelligent: Rhavaniels entertain a high superior mind, making them one of the most intelligent sentient species in the galaxy. They are advent problem solvers, most focusing their intellect in the field of science or engineering.
  • Long Lifespan: The Rhavaniel species, despite a fagile exoselton, have a very long life span. Most of their species can live up to one thousand years, but those that have reached such an age is extremely rare.
  • Extremely Enhanced Night Vision / Vision: Those big bulbous eyes have two smaller eyes embedded within, with each major eye possessing thousands of lens that are constantly deciphering images; almost acting as eyes themselves. Collectively between these lens, the main two eyes, and the two smaller eyes create a high definition image; allowing them to see absolutely perfect.
Weaknesses:
  • Photophobia: One of the more damaging aspects to the species, being they are nocturnal, is they are extremely vulnerable to direct sunlight; with it causing their eyes a painful sensitivity to the brightness. Direct exposure will not only damage, or possibly destroy their sight, but can outright kill them over a course of exposed time. Artificial light, or any technological created devices that produce illumination, has no effect on them but like most species, extremely artificial bright lights can temporarily blind them too.
  • Heliophobia: Because the Rhavaniel suffer from photophobia, it has caused their psyche to create a phobia of fear from suns, sunlight's, and a fraction of overly bright lights; almost paralyzing them if they find themselves in contact with these. They will go through great pains to avoid these to prevent their phobia from gripping them.
  • Fragile Exoskeleton: Underneath the carapace, which in itself is not all that strong, is a fragile exoskeleton that hampers the Rhavaniel in numerous ways. They are forced to move slow and cautiously for risk of damaging themselves. Their movements have been compared to most of the known slow moving species, despite the Rhavaniel being bi-pedal and sentient. Most have chosen to utilize hovercrafts and other small repulsocraft vehicles to move about, some even creating modes of transportation that resemble a circular platform or "hovering chairs". This also has a strong drawback during the procreation process.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Entomophagy / Insectivore
  • Communication: Galactic Basic / Telepathy (Between Them via Antennas)
  • Technology level: Slightly Above Galactic Standard
  • Religion/Beliefs: Anti-Religion
  • General behavior:
  1. Scientists: The species thrives on science, continuously trying to unravel all the mysteries surrounding it. With their high intellect, they are one of the more prominent leaders in scientific exploration. Rarely they work outside their civilization, opting to better their own society, whilst seldomly sharing discoveries with outside sources. However, they will work with other civilizations and species if there is a beneficial reason to do so.
  2. Builders: They refer to themselves as builders, but the correct term would be architectural engineers. Like their passion for science, the species are extraordinary engineers; having erected some of the most elaborate and mind boggling structures. Their cities are a testimony to their engineering prowess.
  3. Nocturnal: They are one hundred percent nocturnal, avoiding suns and sunlight as if they were plagues. Because of this, some of their cities almost seem deserted if not for immigrated species living among them. Everything they do evolves around nighttime.
  4. Family Life / Values: Mates are determined through pre-arranged marriages and are for life. The concept of divorce is non-existent; and in the event one of the couples dies, it is forbidden to remarry. When a female gives birth, she lays around twenty-five eggs, and not all may survive to birth. Those that do, are jointly raised by both parents into they reach maturity; where the potential for pre-arranged marriages occur or if no pact is made, are free to leave home to pursue whatever interests them. The value of Family is highly respected by the species, feeling a sense of a collective colony.
