The Half Zelton teen dropped the speeder into a higher gear as they blasted across the sea of sand in search of their targets. Annika was loving this, she loved to drive and her parents would never have let her take out her dad's sports speeder and really open up like this, the engine was red-lining and a cloud of dust a quarter mile long followed them across the desert. Their first nav point was a small mesa about twenty kilometres outside of the spaceport and Annika put the speeder into a long, fast drift as she made the turn. There were three other passengers in the speeder, and a couple of other rode on bikes outside in the sunshine. She grinned as she looked at Rayth Rayth waiting for the next navigation point. She had been a little off with him since they arrived, not markedly so, bit enough that he might know something was up. The teenage girl would of course not tell him, but she was a little put out that he hadn't tried anything with her since their mission to the safe house, despite her deliberately walking around the academy in the smallest night shorts she could get away with.

But that was his personal mission to work out, the rest if the acolytes, and him included had a meeting with a raiding gang in the desert, three San crawlers and a pair if skiffs lazily made their way across the desert. She had a credit chip with hundred and fifty thousand credits on it and instructions to obtain the package or not bother coming home.

What she didn't know, what none of them knew, is that negotiations had already failed. Their masters had spent hours wrangling with the raiders without success, with them eventually storming out in anger. The master had promised them there would be consequences, and that he would have his treasure. The acolytes were the consequences, the raiders knew they were coming and would be on guard ready to defend themselves. The master was testing the capability and ruthlessness of their students. If they wanted to go home, they would have to drive into this prepared defence and fight their way to the prize, any quarter given would allow the treasure to get away. It was all part of the plan of the Sith.

Open to Sith acolytes, if you are low level NFU who also thinks the mission might be fun drop me a DM and I'm sure I can fit you in.

The opponents are NPC tusken/jawa raiders with decent defences.

What the mcguffin is is unimportant for now

Ansisa had come to a quick conclusion within moments of them arriving on Tatooine. She did not like the heat, and she liked the sand even less. She swept her speeder bike wide of the speeder Annika Starfire Annika Starfire was driving, the Zeltrons reckless speed kicked sand up for the rest of them, stinging any exposed skin it found contact with. She shot her a glare, adjusting the cloth covering her face, before kicking the bike ahead of the speeder.

A glint on the horizon told her they were closing on their target. It seemed odd, for so many of them to be tasked with something as simple as collecting a parcel from raiders. She suspected there was more at work here, keeping her guard up as the next nav point came through. Ansisa positioned her bike in front of the speeder deliberately, forcing the zeltron to take a more sensible speed, less she run a fellow acolyte over.

"... They are good hunters."

Firrerreo spoke from where he sat, his once glazed over eyes returning to the golden color they had been. Sith Familiars were a fairly expensive creature to make, but he'd had one. Had. The bird like creature had been sent ahead as a casual sort of scout, but by the frown on his face, it'd been found. And shot. He leaned back in his seat, pulling out a rather ornate looking dagger as he glared towards their destination.

"They did not hesitate to shoot my bird. And, there is something off. Many of them are armed. I have a bad feeling."

"Maybe they were hungry?" Rayth ventured. He offered Annika a grin.

The entirely clueless - about negotiations and girls - sangir was shielding his eyes from the sun. His pale complexion and sensitivity to light came from living deep in the bowels of Denon and nothing else.

He was certain he was going to burn from either the light of the suns or the fierce heat rising from the sand.

"We're armed. That doesn't mean they're going to..."

Plink

Rayrh peered at the front of the speeder. There was a small hole where they had been shot by a tusken cycler rifle.

"...oh."

Annika laughed as Ansisa Ansisa glared at her before pulling into her path, perhaps to slow her down. "Your master tell you what Sith are meant to do to anyone that stands in your way?" she said to the other passengers in her car as she allowed her speeder to get closer and closer behind Ansisa until the two vehicles were itching to kiss. The guys in her vehicle were both on edge, it didn't take a genius to suspect something was amiss, and with what happened to the familiar, well, it was suspicious to say the least.

Their collective suspicions were confirmed when a rifle hole punched through the sheet metal trim of the vehicle. This was hostile territory and there would be no test if they just got ripped apart by cyclic blasters at long range, so the masters had at least outfitted them with an armoured speeder with light shields, Annika flicked the shields on just as another blaster shot came their way, and another. It was clear they weren't welcome for a talk.

"I'm going to pull us close to the rearmost crawler first, anyone that wants to jump should get ready. We going one per crawler or all board the first one?" combat was not her speciality. They were now definately withing blaster range and the shots intensified with the two skiffs accelerating to combat speed and the trio of crawlers belching smoke as they tried to pick up speed to evade their attackers.

The Drop

The Vanguard Sith Fighter broke the clear blue sky and was bathed in the twin suns light, its metallic haul reflecting as a great flash in the desert telegraphing his position, below he saw The Skiffs in prusuit of the Crawlers, and the Living Blade had to decide how to proceed. Information was sparse, but he saw bolts raining down on his comrades, and not cleared to blow the Crawlers teads off or rain down fife on the targets, he had to resort to another plan. His cock pit opened and the Black and Red Robed Acolyte in his Beskar helm and breastplate, grabbed a metal line that he connected to his belt ring, dropping down on a zip line, which had he seing wildly at first ij the wind as his ship kept in steady orbit above, he then hit the green lit cog that rolled him down and landed him on deck with a thud on the Sand Crawler. The Defenders stirred as he drew his crimson crossguard blade and thrusted it into a Tuskan, the horned masked Raider let out a art as he was tossed over the edge unto sandy shoals. Some Jawas betab firing ion blasters, which made Darth Eval roll, he at least was drawing fire, maybe that would give the other Acolytes a chance to board. A Raider with Gaffi Stick struck the back of his helm breaking it so that the top of club weap flew into a Jawa knocking him off as it shouted “Payday!”

Turning around The Living Blade gripped his hilt and slashed, severing the head of the Tuskan and making its body fall on deck in a thud. The sensation of first blood was invigorating, however, reinforcements rose up from trap doors with rifles and melee weapons with new ardor. The Sith Acolyte needed assistance, the dark side was strong with him, but numbers were the great equalizer and his command of The Force was anemic, hence him joining The Order to learn how to harness the strength of The Sith and become Saber in the hands of Bogan.

Darth Eval deflected bolts that fired at him in a sweep of arcs, it was shooting gallery as they circled him and fired, bolts bouncing off his beskar that he failed to redirect. This made The Living Saber groan, armor was for failures to parry or block, not to be relied on, even if it was Mandalorian Ore. The Defenders were forming up, the bolts pelting him while others drew close with clubs that they beat at him with. He swept his saber to try and cut them, which was difficult with all deflecting he had to focus on. What had seemed like a bombad move to drop on the Crawler was turning into a nightmare, as he was being warn down, one shot singing a break in the breastplate and pauldron, it burned badly. He tried to hide that it was a hit lest these Raiders and Traders learn to aim for those groves and breaks in the armor.
