Crash Landing on Blenjeel

A ragged breath through burning lungs. Hacking. Choking on the smoke from a dozen electrical fires. Bleary eyes flared to life, stinging, watering from the toxic haze. Kate threw a sharp, frantic gesture with a hand, parting the air with a blast of telekinesis. Momentarily clear of the heady smog, the girl rose to her feet.

She stumbled toward the door and dragged it open. The door opened to one of the ship's corridors. No fires out here. Kate heard several muffled cries farther ahead. She started moving in that direction, trying to recall what had happened.

The Alliance girl had stolen those schematics from the Sith, rescuing Kate and a number of others in the process. What was her name? Allyson.

They'd escaped only to be pursued by a Sith vessel. The closest plant was Blenjeel. They'd tried to take cover in a lightning storm and that was the last thing Kate remembered before they were sent spinning out of control toward the surface. She must have been knocked unconscious in the crash. That explained the splitting headache she had. Kate reached up and touched her forehead. Sure enough, her fingers came away smeared with blood.

At a guess, Kate would say that they'd been struck by lightning. She could only hope that the Sith vessel had too. Seemed likely, otherwise the Sith would have torched this ship by now.

The girl continued stumbling down the corridor, looking for survivors.

Everything had been going to plan, everything was going great, and now everything wasn’t going as great. Allyson did her best to guide the ship through the storm, but with the Sith on the their tail and the lightning just raining hell on them, engines were struck and the ship took a nosedive into the surface of a planet. Lots of things run through you mind when you’re in this situation, of course a few months ago nothing beyond the ‘thrill’ of the adventure would have been in Allyson’s mind. Panic settled in as she wondered if this was going to be it, if this was the end of the most savvy smuggler known to the galaxy. Her focus on the entire adventure ending was what would happen to those she cared about, mostly [member="Kaili Talith"]. The blonde was going to kill her if this crash didn't.

The ship made contact with the surface and Allyson blacked out. The End.

The sounds of beeping echoed in the back of Allyson’s mind. She blinked a few times and woke up only to find everything dark. Coughing, she spit up some blood and it was obvious that in her stressful landing that she had bit her lip or her tongue - just somewhere. Groaning she sat back up in her seat and tried to keep the place from not spinning.

More beeps and binary asking if she was alright and if the ‘I’m dead’ message so be seat to Kaili. “No Bait, jeez. Don’t worry her okay? Ugh my damn head.” Allyson held her face for a moment and then peered out towards the droid. “Also you’re suppose to check my vitals and send it if there’s no reading. Don’t ask me ‘hey human u ded bro?’ IF I WAS DEAD I WOULDN’T ANSWER”. The droid beeped back something along the lines of, if you didn’t answer I’d assume you dead anyways.

It was hard getting a good droid now a days. “Help me out of this thing”, Bait moved and began to cut the straps of the chair and Allyson stumbled out. She didn’t get any feeling of the other vessel nearby so it either crashed and blew up or just continued on its way without a care. “You still have those schematics? Good. Send them to Kaili for safe keeping.” Remembering there were a few others, Allyson went to go find the girl named Kat? Kate? Cthulu? Allyson was the worst with names, but whoever she was, she seemed to be the most knowledgeable out of the bunch or something.

They almost ran into each other as Allyson emerged from the cockpit.

Breathless, dried blood caked to her forehead, Kate knew she must look a sight. But the girl had spent a few years with the Disciples and before them the Mandos. Blood and bruises didn't faze her. She just hoped they didn't leave a mark. Bucket had at least instilled her with a sense of personal hygiene, if not with the best social graces.

Chalk it up to childhood rearing with a droid, or her genes.

"You-" she began, then devolved into a fit of coughing. "Ugh."

What does this make, fire number three? I'll be lucky if I don't die from lung cancer.

"Electrical fire in my cabin. What in the Rift happened anyway, I thought you said you were the best pilot this side of Kessel."

The girl in front of her couldn't have been that much older than her anyway. Hazel eyes and a scar on one cheek. Shorn wondered what weapon had caused it. Didn't look like a saber nick. Knife maybe? Ugh, focus, Kate. Fire. Escape. Sith. The mission.

"Right, whatever, we need to put that out and get this thing back in the sky."

She felt the need to take charge and start giving orders. Been sitting in the captain's seat too long. But this wasn't her boat. The teenager swayed slightly and clutched at her head.

“I am the best pilot on this side of the Kessel, but that doesn’t mean I can fend off electrical storms.” Allyson shot back quickly, how dare this girl make comments like that towards her piloting skills. The ship creaked and cried out, Allyson brought her hand to one of the walls and tried to sooth it for the most part. The thing was in pain and she felt terrible bringing her down like this. Grabbing one of the canisters that had this magical foam to put out fires from the wall. “You can cool your jets turbo, you’re not the Captain of this ship, I am. Even when she’s down like this.”

Allyson gave the girl a stern look and then headed towards the source of the fire. She slid down the ladder and into the cabin. There she came face to face with the blaze. The canister popped open and with the hose the foam shot out towards the massive fire. It took a few shots, but the fire soon started to die down and the ship’s real damage was able to be seen. Moving towards one of the only board computers that were still functioning, Allyson slipped into the inner workings of the Kraken to assess the situation.

“Still a few more fires. There’s fire extinguishers on the walls, grab another and we’ll hit the rest of the fires. Once those are out we can get to tending to wounds.” She grabbed the extinguisher and started to head down to battle the flames. “Its Kate right? Allyson or Ally if you forgot.” She flashed the girl a smile despite the mess they were in, Allyson needed to remain as positive as possible. [member="Katya Shorn"]

The quick retorts left Kate grumbling as she followed Allyson back to the source of the flames, gingerly touching her blood caked forehead with a rueful expression.

Ringing alarms and flashing lights only made the throbbing in her head that much worse. Angrily, she ripped a canister from the wall with telekinesis and floated the object over. Her fingers curled around the hose and she moved to a fire whose flames licked from the wall. A wash of oppressive heat rolled over her and she cringed.

I hate fires.

For a girl who had spent most of her life inside cold starships, such heat was a foreign sensation to be feared. Even planet side campfires left her uncomfortable. It didn't matter if she had fought an electrical fire before, or if she'd done so many times in the past. The feeling of that warmth searing the moisture from her body would never become pleasant.

To her, going outside didn't mean fresh air and the sun beating down. It meant the safe atmospheric regulation of an EVA suit. Could she survive without one? Yes. Did she want to? Uh, no. Why would she submit herself to a bunch of random elements when she could have her suit calibrated to the perfect temperature?

Scowling, Kate squeezed the extinguisher and sent a dose of flame retardant into the fire. The dry powder quickly subdued the errant red-orange tongues. She moved on to the next fire. And the next.

Repetition. Reaction. Mindlessness.

She stopped when she couldn't find any other flames to hose. Shorn rubbed her itchy nose and frowned as the hand came away sooty. Ugh. I probably look like a raccoon.

"Are the jets cool now?" she said, a bit woozy.

Allyson sprayed the fires along with Kate, it was the only thing they could do for the time being. Get the fires out and then they could think and figure out how to get the Kraken back to the stars. Having to put out the fires gave Allyson a chance to think, it was a mindless task, but an important one none the less. If any fire remained it could spell trouble for them in the long run. Everything seemed put out and Allyson moved closer to one of the walls of the ship. A hand pressed against it as she inhaled and read the ship’s finer details through the force. “We seem to be out of the danger zone.” A hand peeled away from her beloved ship and she sighed softly putting the now empty canister on the ground.

Lucky for her, she always wore a pair of working goggles on her forehead. They had found their way to cover her eyes and protect her for the most part from any soot. Hazel eyes made contact with the other girl who had questioned about the jets. Allyson didn’t understand the question, mostly because the comment was about her cooling her own jets and calming down. Either way, Allyson decided to let that slide. With the fires out she was able to focus on other things, like the girl she was with and her injuries.

“Looks like you got smacked pretty good there Rocket Raccoon.” A soft smile as she tried to keep things light in the situation they were in. “Come on, follow me back and we can get you a med kit from the cockpit. Patch you up and then start thinking about how we’re going to get back into the sky.” [member="Katya Shorn"]

Kate snorted. "Roger that, Ally."

For once, she was at a loss in an exchange of nicknames. Shorn couldn't remember the last time that had happened. Like, never, probably. She decided to blame it on the head injury.

Wandering after [member="Allyson Locke"], Kate started to feel herself getting a little groggy. Her eyelids felt so heavy, as if she could just sit down and drift off to sleep. Definitely a concussion. If she did drift off, she probably wouldn't wake back up. Shorn focused, trying to reach out to the Force for strength, but in her current state she couldn't quite focus long enough. It was like trying to make bricks out of sand in the desert. Always slipping through her fingers.

When they reached the cockpit again Kate collapsed into the nearest seat. "Mmf," she said. The universally understood gibberish for, 'I am kriffing tired.'

"I need a stim shot, if you have one."

Passing out and taking it easy were not viable options when they were stranded on a hostile planet with Sith probably on the way.

Allyson seemed to be the lickier one of the two. She was able to move quickly and somewhat coherent even after the blow to the head. Possibly it was because she was thick headed or something along those lines. Allyson would pause and look back to make sure that Kate was following her. Making note of the stumbling she wandered back and forced the girl to put an arm around her, matching it Allyson supported the wobbling girl down the hallway and into the cockpit where the first aid kit was.

“Okay sit there sure” Allyson watched as Katya Snorn found the closest seat and collapsed in it. Scratching the back of her head, Allyson nodded and returned to the matter at hand. “Stim shot yes!” Digging around the rubble of the crushed consoles, Allyson did her best to remember the locations of the kits. There were a few in case this did happen and one was crushed. Wouldn't be too helpful if the only medkit was crushed under the console right. The thought forced a snorted laugh from Allyson as she thought about how karking horrible that situation would have been.

Allyson crawled under the bent metal and pulled out the kit, she made her way towards Katya and pulled the stim shot from the small pouch. “There’s a few so if you feel like going to sleep again I’ll do…” with that she raised the pen and stuck Katya a bit hard with the pen. Gotta make sure it’s in there right? “This again.” A smile spread as she injected the girl with the stim. “Well if the stim doesn’t perk you up the burning sensation of being stabbed with it should” The empty injector was tossed aside and Allyson pulled out the bandages and began to clean the wound on Katya’s head.

“So what were you doing in that Sith compound or whatever?”
