CRASH BANG BOOM is a tiny corporation set up as a legal entity to protect Zee Caromed's designs from being claimed and leveraged by other corporations against his wishes.
Focused on making accessibility technology, software, and tools, CRASH BANG BOOM [CBB] manufactures very little of their own products. The focus on the company is in devising working prototypes and models and then making the blueprints for those technologies available for anyone to use. To that end, most 'finished' products are sold at-cost, and CRASH BANG BOOM rarely turns a profit - subsisting mostly on donations. When releasing a devised component for corporate use would do more good for the intended audience than harm (such as allowing a more-established company incorporate a CBB technology into their products for distribution to the people who need them) Zee will typically insist that CBB's share of the proceeds go to a short list of vetted non-profits or charities, and takes an extremely thin slice of the profits to cover operational costs.
Founded on the basic idea that no person should struggle for accommodation due to disability or biology, CBB's strength is a marriage of medtech and engineering. Most prototypes are devised based on the observed struggles or needs of the everyday people around the galaxy.
RATIONALE
After having the design for a portable 'Seeing Eye' Droid stolen out from under him and sold as a luxury plaything, Zee founded CBB as a way to guard his designs and ensure they remain in the hands of the common people. Provided the design has merit, Zee has no issue permitting others to publish designs under CBB's brand as a form of protection.
