Covering the Basics (Drahztal)

Valtryx strolled down the corridors of the Sith Temple, making her way to the training grounds in no hurry. Today she was to teach her first student, a man she only knew the name of; Drahztal. If she was going to expand her power within the Sith, she would need more people to help her carry out the certain tasks she might be too busy or under-equipped to do herself. Much like her own master, Arcanix, she needed apprentices. So as she entered the training grounds, the red-headed Sith scanned the area, looking out for the one she was meant to train.

She had no idea how much the man already knew, and what exactly he wanted to focus on, but no doubt she would find out in time. That way she could help shape him into a powerful asset for the Sith. And who knows, maybe he could rise to be a lord one day. But for now they would have to start with the basics.

Hopefully he was a good learner...

Drahztal stood in one of the many training grounds of the temple of the One Sith waiting for Darth Valtryx to appear. He had approached her for training in anything he she wished to teach him. He had been waiting a while for her so far, but was willing to wait more, after all she was going to teach him the tools for power. 'You're pathetic' Arrogance/Ingranta - one of the voices in his head - whispered, 'She insults us by taking so long, you should make her pay.' As usual Drahztal ignored the voices that had taken up residence in his mind after parents had tortured him.

He turned towards the entrance of the training grounds when he felt a new, and powerful ('She will make us strong.' smirked Lilent/Lust), presence enter the small range in which he could sense things through the Force. A red-haired woman, that matched the images of Darth Valtryx that he had found, had entered and was looking around, most likely for him. He chose to stand where he was and wait for her to approach him.

It wasn't long before Valtryx noticed the slightly odd-looking man with his facial tattoos and scar standing out. With a leisurely stroll she approached him, examining his figure along the way. "You are Drahztal, I take it?" She asked, returning her eyes to his face. "I am Darth Valtryx, and it seems I will be teaching you." Whilst she spoke she probed at the man's presence within the force, sensing some form of conflict inside him. She could not determine voices themselves, but there was something intriguing... No doubt something she could use to help him harness his emotions.

"Now tell me, what is it you wish to learn first? We can start with the basics; Telekinesis and the sorts. It's up to you." The red-head gave a smile, she didn't believe in becoming the enemy of your apprentice. Not until they try to kill you atleast...

As his newest mentor approached Drahztal looked her over more closely as she did him. Her body was obviously toned and slim, more than likely trained for agility if he wasn't wrong. 'Ooh, she's cute,' piped up Lilent/Lust, you should take her.' Before he could try to quiet Lilent Drahztal heard Greska/Compassion shout at Lilent, 'You keep quiet. She's a living being, you do not get to take decisions from people. You...' Drahztal tuned out the rest of the argument between the voices.

He came to as Valtryx asked him what he wanted to learn. "The basics would be best m-m-master." The word 'master' was forced out due to his intense hatred of the word, but he knew he could be punished if he did not address his superiors properly, his parents had made sure of that. "The only training I have in matters of the Force is sensing and theory on the Dark Side. I will bow to your experience on what I should learn at this point, m-m-master." Again the word was forced out through gritted teeth.

Master... Now that title had never been used to refer to her before. It gave her a short feeling of power, before she grounded herself quickly. "Please, no need for the title if it bothers you." She smiled, a kind smile for a Sith. "We'll start with the most important and core force ability, Telekinesis." As she continued to speak, her right hand stretched out to her side, and with it several weighted stones from the training grounds levitated over. Placing them down in front of the man, she gestured towards them. "Go ahead, try and lift them with your mind." She challenged him, awaiting to see how much she would have to explain after his attempt.

Drahztal gave a sigh of relief when he was told that he didn't have to refer to the woman as Master before focussing on the task given. He paused for a second, trying to decide what the best way to tackle the challenge would be before coming up with an idea. Slowly he reached out into the Force as if he was trying to sense something. When he finally had connected with the Force he set about trying to levitate the stones. He began to try and direct the Force to grasp the stone and lift it up. Every time he failed he used his anger to increase his connection to the Dark Side, but no matter how much he tried he couldn't do it. Sighing he turned to Valtryx in frustration.

As Valtryx watched she could sense the hatred within him being directed into each attempt. An impressive strategy, but one that wasn't working for him quite as planned. "The technique regarding your emotions is impressive, but for the lifting it falls short." Then, with her own hand pointed at the stones they began to levitate. "Instead of focusing on the force around the stone, feel the space between you and it. Do not grip it with an invisible hand, grip it with an invisible arm." As she spoke the stones got higher, as in her mind she picture a line between her hand and the stones which she could control, allowing her to lift them. Her emotions fueled her actions, yet the remained tightly in control and were hardly even noticeable to outside senses.

After a few more seconds of levitation, she lowered the stones to the floor. "Now try again."

Drahztal nodded as he observed Valtryx's demonstration with both his eyes and the Force. Reaching down into his shattered mind he accessed the constant vaves of rage that had given birth to Frelek (one of the voices in his head) and pulled it to the surface to deepen his connection to the Dark. Focusing he tried to reach out with the Force not just pick the stone. Slowly he manipulated the Force to reach out from him and attach itself to the stone. Carefully he attached string of the Force to the other two stones. He pulled them all taunt and, focussing on his rage, he used the Force to pull the stones off of the ground ("Of course we did it." Ingranta/Arrogance said). He smirked in satisfaction as he succeeded, letting the stones drop to the ground he turned to look for his next instruction.

Valtryx nodded with approval. "Nicely done, now for something more." The red-head then outstretched her own plam to the stones, causing them to lift once again. This time however, the stones also began to spin, as if orbiting one another. She did this for some time, before then balancing the stones on top of each other. They balanced perfectly still for a few moments, before Valtryx used the force to lay them on the floor again. "Try that." She challenged, crossing her arms and awaiting his attempt. So far he had done well, so she wouldn't be surprised if he did okay.

Drahztal carefully observed everything Valtryx did, during the demonstration, even to the point that he could ignore the still arguing voices of Lilent/Lust, Greska/Compassion and the newcomer to the argument: Ingranta/Arrogance. Nodding at his mentors instructions he once again tapped into the well of anger that gave form to Frelek/Rage (One of the surprisingly quiet voices in his head, although when he focused on Frelek, Drahztal could swear that he could he crunching as if the voice was eating) to deepen his connection to the Dark.

Reaching out he once again lifted the stones into the air, finding it a lot easier now that he had done it once. Slowly he made them orbit each other, he found it difficult to split his attention and focus on each stone but he managed to do it. The hurdles began when he tried to make them stack on top of each other. He found that ever now and then he would lose control over a stone and it would drop to the floor. After a few minuets trying he used a different approach. He would focus on making the stones inhabit a certain area of space, if it just happened that by doing that he stacked them on top of each other then so be it. As he finally managed to complete the tasks he let out a sigh before dropping the stones haphazardly to the floor.

"Impressive," Valtryx nodded at the stones. "I can tell you have potential in the Sith." With that she lifted one of the stones, spinning it around her raised hand for a moment. "One last practice, one that will make this ability ready for use in combat." As she finished speaking, she flung her hand out with quite some speed, and following it's direction went the stone. The small object hurtled across the training ground, before hitting a training dummy at the far end. In fact, the throw was so powerful it ruptured through the dummy like a bullet. "Try that." She challenged him again, folding her arms as she observed.

Drahztal attempted to copy what Valtryx had done, tried to send the stone flying, but failed. While he could lift the stone he could not get it to go where wanted it to go, it just kept jerking towards the target but never actually going anywhere. Growling in frustration, Drahztal 'reeled' in the stone to catch it in his hand before throwing it at the target. He stopped immediately afterwards, staring at his hand. He had pulled the stone towards him using the force then threw it, why not try the same thing. Focusing he lifted the final stone into the air and threw it towards the target, watching in satisfaction as it impacted hard with the dummy. Smirking in joy he was almost startled when Ingranta/Arrogance spoke up, obviously done with the argument between Lilent/Lust and Greska/Compassion, "Pathetic, I could have done that on my first try." Ignoring Ingranta, which only made him start to mutter, Drahztal turned to Valtryx. "What now?" He asked as his left eye began to twitch from Ingranta's constant stream of speech.

Valtryx gave a nod of approval, along with a slight smile. "You seem to have the hang of it, and no doubt with more practice you'll be even better." She placed her hand on his shoulder, half-patting it. "We'll leave it there for now, but I expect to see you soon. You have much to learn, and I have some jobs that we could do to improve your skills." Removing the hand from his shoulder, the red-head stepped back. "Unless there's anything else you need right now?" Her head tilted in question, awaiting the man's reply.

Drahztal paused for a moment, clearly thinking over if there was anything else he needed to learn, scratching at his goatee as he did so. With his focus drifting the argument between the voices in his mind became louder until he shut it out again. However that had cause Drahztal to remember something he wanted to try. "If you are able to," he began slowly, "I would appreciate being taught how to use Force Heal."

Valtryx too paused, examining the man up and down for a moment. "Healing with the force is a risky and delicate art, it takes attention to fine detail. Each molecule of flesh must be repaired and regrown to a perfect level." She paused again, letting her explanation sink in. "In no way do I doubt your ability in the force, but such powers should be left until you are Knighted." At this pointed she looked him dead in the eye. "And you will be knighted, as long as you continue your training." Her voice relaxed and she folded her arms. Hopefully the man understood her reasons for not teaching him to heal just yet. She did not want him to go wrong and end up injuring himself or others. He had much potential, which he needed to be intact to achieve.

"I can teach you something more suitable, or we can part until next time. Whether the next time be on a mission, or another training."

"Very well, I can understand your reasons for not teaching me that." ("Who does she think she is, We can handle it now." Sneered Arrogance/Ingranta) "I would appreciate if the other basics could be covered instead." He said, "Things like Force Jump, Speed and Lightning" Drahztal stood still now, waiting to see if Valtryx was willing or even able to teach him any of those areas of the Force.

"Jumping? Now that's my specialty." Valtryx smiled, not lying in the slightest. Her primary form was Ataru, which focused on acrobatics and movement heavily. "If you want to learn how to jump, then that's perfectly realistic." Her head tilted, awaiting to hear whether he wanted to proceed to learn Force Jump. She didn't want to force certain skills upon him, it was his choice what path he chose.

"I would like to learn." He said, "After all I can see the advantages in it." While one part of him was thinking of ways to use it in battle, another was thinking on how it could be used to get alcohol easier, another part of him was thinking about how to use it to get a shock of adrenaline while a final part of him thought about how it could be used to conquer the world of Oz and make him its ruler. He shook his head to bring himself back to attention and ignore the thought of squashed Munchkins. "So, how do we start?"
