Lianna City

"Are you sure this is going to work?" The military officer said to the Sith Lord. Shrouded in a black cloak, Darth Kentarch turned to face the commander. "I have no interests in letting a government with Republic sympathies take control of Lianna commander. The Empire is gone, but the Sith are not. Rest assured." Kentarch said pointing to the commander, making sure his point got across. "My people are already in the city and the hour is close at hand."

Since the fall of the imperials much of the former territory held by the empire had either been annexed and conquered by opposing factions, or had remained neutral and governed themselves on their own. Lianna, a strategic planet on the Perlemian Trade Route, sat just outside of the Republic's borders and influence. Now the democratic government of the planet was preparing to make a petition to join the Republic and be a member of the Senate. However the corporations and military, who largely until recently served and fought for the Sith Empire, were not keen on joining their former enemies. Darth Kentarch seized the initiated and offered the leaders of Lianna's military his services by formulating a plan to remove the Representative democracy. Which would pave the way for an isolationist dictatorship and benefit The Sith Council in the future.

"Lianna's armed forces are ready my lord." Darth Kentarch nodded to the commander's remark. "But if the Jedi and Republic get involved this could turn into a blood bath."

Darth Kentarch narrowed his eyes. "Make no mistake. This is going to be quick." The Sith Lord said and balled his hand into a fist.

Across the city armored personnel carriers moved towards the government district and to the parliament building. Crowds of onlookers stopping to watch them as they pasted, pondering on the impeding turn of events.

"Its going to be clean."

Small teams of soldiers had been assembled on rooftops in the government district of the city, and one small drop ship was lowering armed personnel onto the parliament building itself.

"But most of all. Its going to be quiet."

Airspeeders from holonet news stations had now begun to hover over the city, keeping their distance and providing live news coverage. Pedestrians who saw the coming slaughter scattered. Soldiers started exiting the personnel carriers, then moving to surround area. The armed response had moved quick enough to surround the parliament building, where inside the planet's leaders communed. One of the back doors of an armored personnel carrier opened, and out stepped Kenatch. "Stay here." he ordered to the commander. Reaching out with a small holocommunicator in his hand, Kentarch spoke to it quickly. "All Sith, converge and eliminate all targets: Lianna government officials. Leave none alive." The Sith then joined the sprint to the parliament building

Somewhere ahead of Kentarch, there was a large explosion. Blaster fire could be heard, and large plume of black smoke rose into the clear blue afternoon sky.

Heir to the Emperor, Former Senator of Denon
[[I would suggest coming up with another planet as this one was salted by the sith in a scorched earth thread before the empire fell but while I search for that I'll set the tone]]

The problem with Lianna and why the Republic hadn't come here was simple. As Korriban fell one of the sith admirals had fled here and nuked the planet... he had a preference for nukes and used them as mainstays instead of anything with tactics but it mattered little. There was nothing of value on the planet, the buildings were hollow and silent, the radiation lethal and data, information gone stolen or lost.

The Republic Chancellor was, to say the least, very mistaken. In order to prevent the usage of the planet's infrastructure by the Republic, it was to have been BDZed with turbolasers while the Pubs were attacking the planet. There was a reason that all important Imperial factory dies, tooling, and technology had been moved from the planet, the factories themselves having been sabotaged to prevent their use at the hands of the Republic.

The planet itself, however, had not been nuked. With the population no longer under threat of Republic invasion for the time being, the exodus that had occurred was reversed, and almost all the Liannans had returned home. Except for those who chose to travel the stars, of course. Still, any important military equipment, information, or manufacturing tools for the Sith's various starships and starfighters, as well as droids, weapons, and vehicles, were long gone.
