Counter-culture

I mean, to me, this question has an obvious answer: have at it! But I realize I'm one person who loves diversity and deep, fleshed out cultures, going against the grain a bit, etc. To me, I have a decent idea.

I am particularly a lover of hip-hop music and culture. Counter-culture, in general, is very interesting to me. Punks, hippies, grunge, greasers. I love it. My idea is to incorporate hip hop into a character, have them be largely a part of a counter-culture. Music, and art, in general, along with the cultures that go hand in hand with them, are not heavily touched upon in the SW universe. I'm asking as someone that mostly lurks and plots on my lonesome, would it be too much to take such a specific piece of real life and put it into the SW universe on this site? It seems plausible to me, especially sincea planet like Coruscant being so heavily and densely populated, counter-cultures of all sort have to pop up along with strange new trends, genres of music, art forms, etc.

I also wonder if there's already people on the site doing something like this (like some gang of greaser Gamorrheans or a Jedi thats also a deadhead), or at least playing characters who are musicians outside of the poorly described genres of music which already exist in the SWU.

Or perhaps just generally taking things unique to real life that have never been seen in the SWU previously, writing them into our universe and just putting a Star Wars twist on them.

Sure.

And. I say that because, this is a fansite. Here? Yeah. Anything goes. Heck, your counter-culture character is likely to bump into a flying techno unicorn half-dragon of +4 vorpal dance moves at some point. So dang man. Sure. Go crazy. Counter all those trillions of cultures. Counter all those quintillion-million stars and their bazillion-villion people. Just do it.

Oh. And when you meet that unicorn. You high five that betch for me, yeah. :D :p

Jen is a punk, grunge, programmer/hacker and she is a part of a speeder gang as well. :) It is very possible to take your own spin on irl cultures and adapt it to star wars. Go for it, if you rap I'm sure Jen would love to go to a concert. lol.
