With a cursory scan of the cafeteria, Ran had found her. The Sentinel of Harmony, Jedi Master Jonyna Si, in the middle of stuffing her face.
"Having cravings, are we?" Ran teased as she took the seat across from her fellow councilor and friend.
"Luckily for you, I have a solution for that, Mummy to be." Ran said moving a portion of nutrient rich green-milk pancakes from her own tray to Jonyna's.
"One bite of these and you'll have lost your appetite faster than you can ask 'Why do you like these, Ran?'" The mirialan continued before stuffing her own face so Jonyna wasn't alone.
"So…" Ran gulped.
"When are you due? What is the name? Names? Do Cathar have litters? Forgive my ignorance." Ran apologized before taking a deep breath and slowing down from her rapid fire questions and jests about healthy pancakes.
"Also how are you? Really." She asked finally. It had been some time since she last saw Jonyna in the flesh. Ran had found her fellow Jedi to be somewhat of a spark plug, always moving and doing something, and it seemed being pregnant had slowed her down even if it was just a bit.
Ran wondered if that would ever be her. So many of Ran's friends, fellow councilors, and contemporaries seemed to be moving on in their personal lives. Engagements, marriage, and children seemed to be almost commonplace in the New Jedi Order. Those that didn't go that path seemed to bury themselves in their work. Ran wondered if either path suited her.
