The hydraulics whined as the ramp lowered, allowing the rush of fresh oxygen and real light into the transport that had just touched down on Fondor. Axle Sourn stood at the top of the ramp and took in a deep breath, enjoying the purity of the oxygen that filled his lungs. It had been a long voyage. He squinted as his eyes adjusted to the sunlight.
He picked up his duffle bag and slung it over his shoulder, and walked down the ramp with the other travelers. His eyes scanned his immediate surroundings for threats, a habit he picked up from his years of being in combat. He blended in with the crowd as they left the hanger and continued into the city.
As he walked, he ran through his checklist in his head. Find a place to stay, find an occupation where his skills could be put to use, and finally, find someone to continue his training in the force. But first and foremost, he needed to find a cantina.
Finding a cantina was not hard at all. He stepped in and again, scanned the area. Feeling confident that there were no threats, Axle approached the bar and caught the attention of the bartender.
"What'll ya have son?" The bartender asked.
"A lager and a shot please".
After a few moments, the two drinks were placed before Axle. He nodded at the bartender and picked up the shot. He raised the glass slightly and whispered.
"Save a spot for me brothers"
He downed the shot and let the burning sensation emanate through his chest. He set the glass down stared off, lost in the recesses of his mind, reliving all the horrors that he wish he could forget...
