PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Corvin Holt is a broad-shouldered, weathered man who looks more like a veteran infantry officer than a politician or administrator. Years spent in the field have left their mark upon him. His face bears deep lines around the eyes, a permanently furrowed brow, and the faint scars of old injuries acquired during military service. Dark hair, now beginning to grey at the temples, is kept short and practical.

He possesses a stern and disciplined bearing, rarely displaying strong emotion in public. His gaze is often described as distant, as though constantly calculating contingencies several steps ahead.

Unlike many senior military officers throughout the galaxy, Holt avoids extravagant uniforms and decorations. He prefers a simple dark-blue service uniform reflecting the colors of Lothal itself. Medals are rarely worn except during official ceremonies, and his appearance is deliberately modest.

To many civilians he appears less like a general and more like an exhausted public servant who has spent decades carrying burdens nobody else wanted.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Corvin Holt is defined by duty, restraint, and a profound hatred of unnecessary war. Unlike many military commanders, he does not romanticize combat. He views war as a failure of politics and leadership rather than an opportunity for glory. Every battle is measured in civilians displaced, infrastructure destroyed, and names added to memorial walls.

This outlook has earned him criticism from more aggressive officers throughout his career. Some consider him overly cautious. Others consider him one of the few men who fully understands the cost of conflict.

He possesses a deeply rooted belief that governments exist to serve their citizens rather than the other way around. His loyalty is not directed toward political parties, ideologies, or individual leaders. It is directed toward the people of Lothal.

Though calm and diplomatic by nature, Holt becomes exceptionally stubborn when confronted with threats to civilian lives. He is willing to retreat, negotiate, compromise, or sacrifice his own career if it prevents unnecessary bloodshed.

His greatest fear is witnessing Lothal suffer another catastrophe similar to the bombardment that scarred the world decades earlier.

STRENGTHS

Experienced Commander
Holt possesses nearly three decades of military experience ranging from peacekeeping operations to planetary defense. His understanding of logistics, strategy, and command is exceptional.

Calm Under Pressure
Even during crises, Holt remains composed and rational. His ability to make decisions during disasters and combat operations has saved countless lives.

Popular Leader
Both soldiers and civilians generally trust him. He has earned a reputation for honesty, fairness, and competence.

Pragmatic Strategist
Holt understands the limitations of the Lothal Civil Defence and avoids unrealistic plans. He focuses on achievable objectives rather than symbolic victories.

WEAKNESSES

Excessively Protective
Holt often places civilian safety above strategic opportunities. Enemies can exploit this tendency by threatening populations or infrastructure.

Politically Naive
While an excellent military officer, Holt is less comfortable navigating political intrigue. Manipulative politicians often frustrate him.

Burdened by History
The destruction of Lothal City continues to haunt him. Certain memories can cloud his judgment when similar situations arise.

Reluctant Warrior
Holt will fight when necessary, but he lacks the ruthlessness sometimes required to defeat determined enemies quickly.

HISTORY

Corvin Holt was born on Lothal during a relatively peaceful period in the planet's history. The son of agricultural workers, he spent much of his youth among the vast farming regions that formed the backbone of the world's economy.

Military service was never part of his original plan. That changed when growing instability throughout the region brought conflict closer and closer to home. Believing that someone needed to protect the communities that had raised him, Holt enlisted in local security forces at a young age. Over the following decades he steadily climbed through the ranks. Unlike many ambitious officers, his promotions came not through political connections but through consistent competence. He earned a reputation as a dependable leader capable of managing difficult situations without unnecessary violence.

The defining moment of his life came during the collapse of relations between Lothal and the Empire of the Lost. When elements of the planetary government sided with the Tingel Arm Coalition, Imperial forces responded with an orbital bombardment of Lothal City. Holt was present during the disaster.

He witnessed entire districts burn. He watched military and civilian emergency services struggle to rescue survivors from collapsed structures. Friends, fellow soldiers, and members of his own extended family were among the dead. The experience fundamentally changed him.

In the aftermath, Holt became one of the leading voices advocating for an independent planetary defense force controlled by local authorities rather than foreign governments. When the Lothal Civil Defence was formally established, he was among its earliest officers.

Years later, during the occupation by the Imperial Confederation, Holt remained in command positions within the LCD. Though forced to cooperate with occupying authorities, he consistently worked to preserve the independence and integrity of local institutions. Following the Confederation's withdrawal, Holt was appointed Supreme Commander of the Lothal Civil Defence.

Today he oversees a force tasked with protecting a world caught between larger powers. Corvin Holt understands that the LCD cannot defeat a major interstellar empire. His goal is far simpler. To ensure that if another war comes to Lothal, there will still be a Lothal left when it ends.
