PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Corrine de Montaigne grew up in a prestigious military family known for generation of armed service. She and all of her siblings are, or have been, active duty and did so without any convincing. It is a deep conviction to protecting those who cannot protect themselves that compels her into service, both military and political. She speaks eloquently, and with force and will, about her passions, both in her stances on the galaxy, and in her personal life. Frequently described as intense, she does not do things in half-measures, and expects the same from her peers and co-workers both militarily and politically.

Regarding the Force, Corrine has no love for the Sith. It is not the aspect of the Force that they embody that deters her, but their despotic ideology. She has a deep love for representative government and believes, in spite of the inherent flaws in the Galactic Alliance, it offers the best potential for the most people to be seen and heard. That is what kept her in the military reserves after her active duty assignments, and what compelled her to enter the field of politics. She now represents the people of Corulag in the Galactic Alliance and intends to do so with the best interests of her people at heart.

STRENGTHS

Populist:
The people of Corulag admire her conviction to their well-being and she finds extensive support among the population of her home world.
Very Wealthy: Money to burn, Corrine is able to afford a luxurious lifestyle.

WEAKNESSES

Uncompromising:
Will not negotiate with those she believes to be corrupted by their position.
Enemy of the Corporatists: Believes that it is more important to protect employees, and people, over the interests of a corporation, and that corporations do not deserve the same protections as individuals.
Imperialist War Hawk: Believes it is the right and duty of the Alliance to intervene, militarily or otherwise, in the affairs of nearby world's whether or not they are members of the Galactic Alliance. An unjust peace is by far worse than a just war.

HISTORY

Well-heeled, Corrine grew up without wanting for anything in the galaxy. Wealth and prestige did not, however, divert any of the de Montaigne family from entering military service. On Corulag they are admired for their willingness to serve in spite of their tremendous social advantages. It is this dedication to service that has been the hallmark of the de Montaigne line for centuries and she was no different.

From the preparatory academies to the final day of her military education she maintained decorum, honor, and dedication. Corrine was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the GADF. Twenty years of dedicated service later and she retired from active duty military service at the rank of Brigadier General. She elected to remain in the military reserves to be called back to service in the event that a major crisis threatens the very existence of the Alliance itself, but has since then become the Senate representative for Corluag.

Once in place, she set out on her political ideologies. A hardline liberal, she believes firmly in the will of the people. She supports the protection of trade unions and worker's rights groups, vocally petitions in favor of policies that end discrimiation and prejudice, and advocates very heavily for more programs to care for the veterans that fight and die to protect the principles of the Galactic Alliance. A firm centralized government should have the power and right to exercise its authority, and in order to greater protect the interests of the Alliance should not be afraid to hand down new laws and executive orders that advance the welfare of the people. As the newest Senator on the floor, she has wasted no time in making her voice heard.
