The beat of his feet hitting the ground, mingled with the panting of his breath and the pounding of his heart was just about all Ben could focus on. His mind instinctively blocked out the distractions around him - the chatter of the crowds as he ran past and through them, the automated, mechanical voice signaling the mag-lev schedule, and especially the loud, angry voices behind him that kept calling out for him to stop. It wasn't as if he was trying to pretend not to hear them, he had no intention of stopping whatsoever, after all, he just preferred to not worry about how they seemed to be growing increasingly angry as they followed after him. At least he knew it wasn't long before he'd leave them in the dust - he'd timed it perfectly, he was far enough ahead that he'd be on the mag-lev train and gone before they could get aboard.

They had their rights to be angry with him, at least. The crew on his tail, a pair of Devaronian twins, an Aqualish, and an Abednedo, had brought Ben in on a job a getaway driver. Of course, he'd taken off with the goods as soon as they were loaded, fully expecting the crew to be snatched up by the authorities so that he was left with the take. Alas, the local sector authority had been particularly incompetent that day, it seemed, and now they were looking to collect on a debt that Ben had already spent, clearing his other debts. Frankly, Ben preferred to avoid even considering how the conversation might go if they learned the money they'd tracked him down for was long gone, so running had seemed the better option.

There wasn't much further to run now, either. Barging through a group of travellers, Ben jumped up and onto the wide rail that divided a pair of stairwells down to the platform, sliding past the crowds and steadily picking up speed as he heard the shouting grow steadily more distant behind him. The train was on the platform, just a few more seconds, and he'd be on it.

Leaning back, he began to press his weight against the rail to slow himself as much as he could as he got toward the bottom of the stairwell, stumbling a little when he landed back on his feet at the bottom - just in time to see the doors closing on the train.

"No, nonono, come on!" He sprinted to the doors, banging a hand against them and attempting in vain to peel them open before the train began to move - within a few seconds, it was already streaming down the rail and out of the station. Well, he hadn't timed that quite how he hoped, but he still had a head start, he could find another way. He turned around - just in time to see the four thugs reach the bottom of the stairs and start closing on him, cutting off his exit.

Okay, no more running, time for words. The Aqualish grunted and snapped at him in its sharp, guttural way of speaking, and Ben did his best to let a smile he thought was charming spread across his lips as he held up his hands and spread them out slightly.
"Utonk, buddy! I wasn't running from you, I would never! Matter of fact, I was just on my way to the safe house where I stashed our take from the Velek job..." Sharper, more aggressive grumbling left the Aqualish, and Ben did his best not to seem like he was on the back foot when he heard it. "Wh- Rakston told you that? You know he's got no clue what he's talking about, right? I wouldn't pay him a single credit of your score, ever!" He would, and he had, and they knew it.

Stepping up quickly, the Devaronian reached out to snatch Ben's jacket collar, a furious expression framing his already unpleasant-looking face as he glared at the cornered swindler.
"How's about we break his legs and let him catch the next train from down on the rails, eh?" Panic was starting to settle in now, and Ben could feel his heart pounding far more intently now as his eyes darted this way and that in search of an escape. This was the exact sort of situation he would have wanted some muscle with him, but he hadn't been out on a job, and none of the Mynocks knew where he was at all. As much as he needed a savior, he knew no one was coming for him...

Corellia held the stench of wet metal, fumes and trash. Not unlike Nar Shaddaa, though with less spice in the air and a salt-filled sea breeze. It was no good for the armour.

A handful of meters from where the gang of aliens decided to shake down the human, the man clad in Mandalorian armour stood leaning against the railing. Right place, right time. It seemed, at least. For who, was someone else's concern.

"You're ruining my view," his voice cut out from beneath the helmet, "Leave the gutter-rat alone, move on."

His hand brushed past the blaster pistol in its holster.

There might have been a flash of some sort of emotion - fear, or perhaps relief - at the sudden interjection from the Mandalorian. At that point, he would have been relieved at any interjection that might have helped save him, regardless of who or where it had come from. But then, Koda Fett wasn't the type of individual that went around saving people just because he had a particularly bleeding heart on any given day. That was the sort of thing that might have struck fear into any would be rescue-ee's heart at the appearance of that green-clad bounty hunter.

Of course, that relied on a particular rescue-ee actually knowing who Koda Fett was. For all the bounty hunter's fame, there were still insignificant corners of the galaxy where it didn't reach to the same level. Sure, Ben had likely heard the name mentioned by some of his fellow thieves before, but he had the good fortune to have never earned a price on his head that would remotely interest the Mandalorian, and any holos or images that might have depicted the man had utterly passed Ben by.

Given the reaction from the aliens holding him up, they didn't seem to recognise him either. There was some scattered laughter from the group at Fett's words, and the Aqualish barked something aggressive with a flick of his hand at Fett, a warning to leave them be before things got 'ugly'.

Ben was still held by his jacket, up against the edge of the platform, but the distraction was there, and Fett's arrival had drawn the attention of the group as they all glared down the Mandalorian, each - with the exception of the one holding Ben - reaching down to rest their hands on their own blasters. While Ben was pleased to let his new Mandalorian friend potentially save him, he also wasn't just going to stand there and wait for it. His hand moved subtly while he kept playing the stammering and terrified thief, his fingers managing to unclip the strap of the holster at the Devaronian's side.

"I think you should really listen to him, fellas, y'don't want to ruin the guy's view, right?" His words drew the Devaronian's attention back to him, right before a flash of red light and the unmistakeable sound of a blaster shot rang out. Ben had freed the blaster pistol from his holster and fired it right into the alien's chest. It had resulted in a half-moment of stunned silence, then as the alien began to fall back, chaos broke out as the other three drew their weapons, two leveling them up at the Mandalorian, while the Aqualish brought his right up toward Ben.

Fett hardly moved from his lounging lean against the safety railing, tensing his hovering grip and raising the blaster pistol up from its holster. He was of a mind to be rather lazy and let the threat of the armour do the talking, but that didn't seem to work with these particular thugs. So two shoots, left steaming and burning from the holes in their chest, would do. Returning the blaster pistol to its holster after a twirl and the thud of bodies, Fett spoke again.

"You owe me for that," his voice was low, proud. "What's your name?"

The bodies dropped as Fett took his shots - one of them managed to get a shot off, but it was too late, going wide as the bolt slammed into the roof and the bodies crumpled. Another pair of shots had rung out as Ben ducked the shot from the Aqualish and put him down as well, the relative power behind the blaster he'd stolen sending the alien staggering back as it fell. For a moment, Ben let his gaze drop to teh weapon, a momentary period of admiration before he flicked the safety on and tucked it into his trousers - he'd find a holster later.

His attention turned to his armoured savior just in time for the Mandalorian to declare that Ben owed him. Great, what's another debt? He scoffed, letting out a brief chuckle as he took a few steps away from the rails and over the bodies, mostly so that he felt more comfortable that he was standing on solid ground again, hopefully without anyone here trying to kill him.

"Ben, Ben Thano, I'm sure I could've handled the situation, you know - But y'know, thanks, I guess." The thank-you at the end was rapidly added on, as if the thief had considered that this Mandalorian might just drop him as well if he felt the urge, he still wasn't sure of his intent, after all.

Ben blinked, confusion evident on his expression as Fett approached and explained his apparent connection. It made some sense, at least, he was truthfully surprised by the notion Rylan was talking about him much at all, let alone to a Mandalorian that had never been mentioned to Ben before.

"You have? Hope you won't be offended that I haven't heard about you." He conceded with a shrug, looking the man up and down as if a deeper look might clarify for him who he was talking to, but Ben was not one up to date with the comings and goings of the galaxy, his concerns for a long time had been wholly on Corellia, and specifically, on not ending up dead in a ditch on Corellia. "You lookin' for him then, or me? He only got back to Coronet a day or two ago."

"Hardly at all," Fett said, betraying the enormity of his own pride before lying through his helmet, "Few ever have."

In certain circles, he was known from a vague description. It helped when the target, or those tied to the target, knew little and less of the specific figures toiling in the galactic underworld. The price of infamy, perhaps.

"I had some business to tend to on Corellia before meeting him again. But, seeing you may just be a sign to go see him now. What do you say?"

A faint hum left the Corellian as he watched Koda, considering the suggestion the Mandalorian had made. Truth be told, he had been on his way to go and see Raylan anyway when he'd been distracted by a group of gangers that wanted him dead, but he also didn't know anything about this Mandalorian, and he was clearly dangerous... But then, that also was a point in favour of taking the man with him, the four corpses on the floor were hardly the only ones in Coronet City who wanted a piece of Ben, in fact, his luck had turned so severely recently that he felt like he had more enemies than friends these days.

Hells, even Raylan wasn't his biggest fan at that moment, the reason he'd been going to see him was to pay off at least one debt with the few credits he had.

"Yeah - yeah, sure, that sounds good. Just do me a favour and keep looking menacing, huh? I'd prefer to avoid anyone else tryin' to collect some credits off me." He mused, glancing over his shoulder and nodding to the escalators which led back up and out of the station, turning to begin making his way toward them. "So, what's he told you about me? I'm curious."

"Right..." There was a lilt to Ben's tone, perhaps it was even suspicion - though despite it, he didn't seem to push the point or show much more reticence to leading the Mandalorian along. Frankly, if Rylan and this warrior knew eachother or worked together, he wasn't even sure that he particularly wanted to know what it was that they worked on.

So, for now, Ben continued on his way, leaving the station behind and ducking into a few alleyways as he opted to avoid the main drags. There was a private hangar that Rylan had co-opted a while ago not too far from Juni Street Station. As he continued through the alleys, he glanced over his shoulder again, toward the Mandalorian
"I just realised, I didn't ask your name."

There was something about that particular comment that made Ben start to understand his situation better. This wasn't a friendly meeting, and he doubted that this Mandalorian and Rylan were quite as close as friends as he might have initially assumed. Rylan owed plenty of people in his own right, and that now seemed like it was what was at play here. The gangsters chasing Ben down were content to trawl the streets for him, but this Mandalorian didn't seem like that was his first priority, and why should it be, when a guide was available?

"...Calling it even sounds good." He was sure there was a scenario that worked out here. He wouldn't have said he was overly loyal to Rylan, but Ben owed him for a great deal, and there was a solid chance they could talk this out, find some compromise, or the two of them could even just take this Mandalorian down together once they arrived. He was confident there was a solution here, but he knew well enough there wasn't going to be something good for him to come out of this if now was when he decided to play the loyal goon card and refuse to keep leading him.

So, they continued down the alleys and through the front door of what looked to be an abandoned shopfront. Ben pushed past the counter and through the back door, opening it up to reveal a staircase that led downward. It was a short trip down before it opened to a larger workshop, lined with speeder parts and scattered tools. On the other side of the shop was a large garage door, the sort one would find in a hangar. As he neared it, Ben glanced over his shoulder to the Mandalorian for a moment, briefly considering how exactly one took out a Mandalorian if and when they had to. He wasn't about to experiment on his own, though, so he hit the console beside the door to let it open.

On the other side of the slowly opening doors was a large underground landing pad, occupied by a worn-down, heavily customized YT-3400. The hangar itself appeared to be devoid of life, but as the garage door loudly clanged open, a pair of legs began to descend from the ship's ramp.
"Thano, you best have my credits!"
