Hey all,
I have been sitting on this character concept for a while now. I have always enjoyed the idea of NFUs who eventually become FUs, and the reverse as well, and exploring what that actually means for a character. How people deal with suddenly being given immense power, or having it taken away.
I never really got the chance to play around with that concept before, so I figured I would give it a go with Grant Navarro.
Before getting anywhere near the NFU → FU journey though, I want to spend a good amount of time throwing Grant into increasingly unpleasant or surprising situations. War zones, faction conflicts, mercenary work, meeting new people, surviving things he probably shouldn't survive, that sort of thing.
I mostly write in my own little corners on the board, so I don't always have the best overview of what is currently going on faction-wise. Because of that, I'm looking for pointers. Which factions or groups currently have a good presence of NFUs, soldiers, mercenaries, or similar characters? I would love to throw Grant into faction threads, dominions, invasions, or any other large-scale events and really dig into him as both a person and a professional mercenary.
Grant isn't particularly aligned with any ideology. He doesn't have strong feelings about Light or Dark factions. He's just as wary of Jedi as he is of Sith, and generally avoids making moral judgments about who he works with.
I scribbled down some hooks and things I am looking for, to make it easier, but I am open to practically anything really.
Character Hook
Grant Navarro is a Firrerreo mercenary and former counter-Force trainee who walked away from military service after the wars around Coruscant shattered his faith in factions and ideology. He now works as a professional gun for hire, moving from contract to contract across the galaxy while trying to keep the family he left behind taken care of.

As a quick disclaimer: my posting speed can vary depending on work. Some days I might knock out ten posts, other weeks it might be closer to one. I figured I would mention that upfront for anyone who hasn't written with me before.

- Warzone threads such as dominions, invasions, or other large faction conflicts
- Military operations, strike missions, or contract work
- Encounters with Force users that Grant probably shouldn't survive
- Stories involving soldiers, mercenaries, bounty hunters, or intelligence types
- Grey moral situations where loyalties and allegiances are less clear
- Someone hires Grant for a contract
- Grant ends up working alongside your character in a faction conflict
- Your character hires him as security, muscle, or an escort
- A Force user crosses paths with him and he has to survive the encounter
- Two mercenaries end up competing for the same job
