She was never one to properly keep up with the events unfolding about the galaxy, who cares about politics when there were so many arcane secrets lurking about? The last she recalled, the Sith were becoming an almost unstoppable force. Cleaning and purging any and all who stood in their way of bloody conquest, but what of those who dwell in shadow? One who spent more time perfecting her arts over the actions of her peers? From an outside perspective it would seem like business as usual, conducting tests on her current inventions...

But for the astute scholar? Pain.. Disappointment beyond measure even! No new breakthroughs, no new creatures... The worst part of it all was that it was her own fault, staying locked away in her lab as opposed to joining her peers in their more lively conquest. Were her creations even being used? Noticed? Perhaps there was some degree of merit behind salesmen... Mayhaps she had neglected to promote her craft well enough.

The thoughts of self doubt clouded her mind as her ever-present shadow leaned behind the girl, no doubt holding a joyful grin as the words danced inside her mind.

"Does the silence you once found solace in still caress you so gently? To dwell in self doubt instead of feasting on your fascination? You know as well as I do, how you crave to see it burn, flesh to ash, bones cracked and coiled."

The scholar knew how right her shadow was, and how her Rhandite beliefs often had her fingers itch and tremble, nails longing to dig into supple flesh.

The young Lutris hid behind a mask, hiding away her more depraved nature from others.

And so, letting out a mild sigh she brushed her gloved hand across the pages of her
tome. Breaking out of her trance as her ears heard the sound of an alarm going off, where was she again?

Closing her tome she gets up from her chair, sending out drones to sweep the area to find whatever had just broke loose. Wherever she was, this was not her lab.

Where was she again?

Galactic domination was honestly getting a little boring. The Sith had much of the galaxy in the palm in their hands which made way for complacency and stagnation. Chu found himself teaching less and educating Sith in the ways of doctrine and finding willing students to go on archeological digs. Lucky enough for him, he had found someone who was willing to unlock the secrets of the galaxy and the powers of the dark side that have been lost to the centuries. Vakhari Lutris Vakhari Lutris was a name Chu was familiar with but never actively sought out. She had a lot of extracurricular actives going on while Chu was busy playing middle man for Sith agents. It wasn't luxurious or academically rigorous, but it kept him busy. With the free time he had left, he sought out the architect. After all, both were Yalaran residents.

The two had found a lead on Yalara. They sat down and compared notes. Something was here, hiding right under their noses.

They plotted an expedition into one of the cave networks until they stumbled upon it. By the time they got there, they were presented by a holding cell. A force prison as it were. They established base camp within the caves and studied the cell that was holding something. They didn't want to risk waking it in fear of incurring the ghost of a thousand year old sith or some ancient force beast lost to time.

The base camp was pretty expansive. They had built around the force prison with the help of excavator droids and slaves while the expedition established themselves. For weeks all they could do was stare at the holding cell and run whatever tests they could that didn't involve disrupting the cell.

Chu had just about given up these past couple days and chose to meditate on the issue. On his third day of solitude in the base, he had awoken to the sound of alarms blaring. He jumped out of bed and exited his room. Drones were rushing down the halls. No organics in sight.

If the drones were sent out, it meant that Lutris was up at least.

As Chu made his way to her room, there were no signs of organics anywhere. He spoke into his comm unit and no one responded.

He had just arrived at Lutris's quarters before pressing on the intercom. "It's Yao."

As he waited at the door, the girl would nod to herself. This is where she was, Yalara. The planet slowly being turned into a graveworld by Adeline Noctua Adeline Noctua . The head of the academy she herself once studied at... This whole planet held a foul stench in the air, an ever-present death that watched your every move.

The door would open, the strange girl clad in white gave Yao a smile.

"Awoken to the alarm as well I take it? I would suppose the dig will have to wait..."

She always seemed to hold a spark feeling in the air, signs of power. However, even a close inspection would only lead to more questions. The snowcloaked scholar seemed to give off any strong feeling within the force, she appeared hardly in-touch with it... One could swear she wasn't even a force user.

"My droids have been sent to scout out whatever is causing this mess, once it is foundddd-"

The girl glances around, then back to Yao.

"You umm, know how to fight, right? Chances are you may need to get a little physical."

The young Lutris had an idea as to what it might be, and she'd really prefer not to be in the front.

Admittedly, he didn't expect the girl to be so helpless. She was Sith just like him. He didn't say anything initially in regards to her fighting ability. He just pulled his robe aside and revealed his lightsaber to her. Using the force he tried to sense her connection to it. He couldn't gauge if it was severed or muted.

Either way it wasn't there.

"Just stay behind me." He sighed. Chu led them down the hallways. All the while he was trying to hail other members of their expedition. But he wasn't getting anything. All the while he had realized he hadn't spoken with Lutris until this point in time. Or at least they never engaged in full conversation. With their lives at stake, now seemed appropriate to become properly acquainted.

"Do you normally forget how to use the force?" He asked as they crept forward. "I feel like your life would be less at risk if you knew how to fight like... right now. While our lives are at risk."

He just pulled his robe aside and revealed his lightsaber to her.

The sight of such a tool would make her smile, the expression giving the impression that the rather weak appearing girl was glad he had a weapon. The reality however was that this was perhaps a perfect organic field test... Quite the rush over a controlled lab environment.
"Just stay behind me."

"Well but of course, you hold a rather potent weapon."

The petite lady would indeed follow right behind the man, taking out a data-pad before her gloved fingers quickly began to type away. Soon, a macabre looking droid came skittering along with the pair as they walked down the hall of the dig site.
"Do you normally forget how to use the force?"

"Hm?"

She responds as they continued to travel along, adorning a halfmask that would end up altering how her voice would sound.

"Forget? I wouldn't rea-"

Her words were cut off by the sounds of screaming, several voices calling out at once. Whatever was going on had fully taken over the scholar's attention, her crimson eyes holding a surgical focus... She was watching, with the real question being if her focus was centered to the danger at hand, or on Yao.

"Help! Please!"

The voice was hard to make out as male or female, it held a strange harmony like a choir.

"Hello?? W-who is that??"

A different voice, sounding more akin to a person lost in the dark.

The air was thick with the smell of putrid meat, metallic scent tickled the nostrils.

It was now or never, time to bend the corner to see what was going on.

Chu had ignited his lightsaber at the sound of the voices. They didn't sound familiar. Specifically they didn't sound like anyone he recognized. With some familiarity in archaeology. He knew very well that the secrets of the dark side had lurked everywhere in the galaxy, and he knew better than to let the guard down. His mind briefly went to Lutris. She had hoped that she'd be able to stand on her own if worse came to worse. Strength in numbers in all.

Chu had just rounded the corner. What he saw wasn't something he was unfamiliar with yet still peculiar.

Spirits. Dark side spirits to be more specific. They didn't seem dark and imposing like most that would be encountered. One of them had a voice that sounded more androgynous. It seemed like a spirit, a silhouette of a sentient building with shades of vermillion and scarlet vibrating around its form. It didn't seem as though it wasn't even paying attention to Yao and Lutris. The other spirit seemed more aimless as it eyed around the corridors. A similar silhouette from, yet its shades were a slate-ish blue. Even when it looked in the direction of Yao and Lutris, it didn't seem to pay attention to them.

"Um... Hello?"
