Approved Tech Consular's Steel

Status
Not open for further replies.
Intent: To create a sort of steel that specifically responds to Psychic Command, and an new type of metal that can be used to create both specialized lightsabers as well as a metal with strong resistances to blasters, extreme heat, cold, and sonic as well as mild resistance to the Dark Side. Its main purpose is a metal easy to manipulate with telekinesis

PRODUCTION INFORMATION

Name: Consular's Steel.

Manufacturer: The only manufacturer was once a secretive sect of Jedi Knights known as The Resistors of Darkness, now defunct. Techniques enscribed on tablets unearthed in a hidden section of the old jedi enclave on Dantooine reveal the secrets to forging the metal

Homeworld: Corellia.

Production: Semi Unique (Currently limited to: Maple Harte, Matsu Ike.

Affiliation: Maple Harte, Matsu Ike.

Modularity: No.

Material: It starts out as iron ores, carbon, and Vanadium. The iron ore must come from a meteor that has been orbiting close to a star. The forger must use Alkahest incantations while the metal is being heated, and during heating it must be continually bombarded by people skilled in using the Force Power Electric Judgement. Someone must also be playing an electric guitar at full blast at the metal using the largest sound system possible, necessitating ear protection. After two months on a near constant schedule, the metal will become very dense and hard and it remains unable to be heated, and tools stop being able to affect it. But the metal can now be worked and molded through telekinesis. Very little can be made so it usually is for specialized armor upgrades or pieces, or for its use in making it far, far, easier to control a thrown lightsaber with telekinesis.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Consular's Steel has a noted ability to resist the effects of mild Dark Side telepathy attacks, as well as an ability to absorb high powered blaster fire and extreme heat and cold. Its most interesting ability is how easy and effortless it is to mold and control with telekinesis.

Strengths:

Extreme heat and cold resistance: The metal cannot stand up to lightsabers, but can work with very high temperatures, able to grasp otherwise extremely hot or cold objects as long as one is protected by the metal without effort.

Extremely controllable with telekinesis: The metal's single most prized property, and the one for which its application is best used. The metal is surprisingly fluid when controlled with the Force, readjusting its form almost without effort. It can be shaped into armor pieces, sculptures, and especially around lightsaber grips. The lightsaber will require far less focus and effort to manipulate when thrown. It can even be used by itself as a telekinetic weapon.

Mild Resistance to Dark Telepathy: Weak and average telepathic attacks from Dark Force Adepts are repelled, but a specialist will be able to power through, though at the cost of extra focus.

High Blaster resistance: Due to its natural heat diffusion properties, it reduces the damage by spreading the heat throughout the metal. It can sustain up to two hits from regular strength blaster rifles or one shot from a heavy blaster rifle

Can be worked thin: the above properties become even more useful when one takes into account the fact that the dense, heavy metal can be worked thin and still retain its protective strength.

High sonic resistance: Its creation process is believed to impart an ability to absorb fire from directed sound weapons. Heavy sonic fire is dampened by the metal, reducing its lethality.

Ashla Only: No Dark Sider can wield Consular Steel without experiencing harmless total paralysis. Vital bodily functions will continue unhindered.

Neutral:

Loud creation processs: The non-stop creation process involves the use of someone playing an electric guitar as loudly as possible, as the sound waves and frequency of the musical intonations is necessary to refine it. This is a near constant process and while it might be extremely annoying to any locals, it must be stressed that its also quite fun. How many other smiths get to say they wail on an electric guitar to refine their metal?

Weaknesses:

Heavy: Don't even think about trying to make a full suit out of this. Its simply that heavy, approaching the weight of pure Cortosis by at least seventy five percent. Even when worked thin by telekinesis, its weight is still considerable to bear, especially if one is doing strenuous activity.

Brittle: Its most useful when thin, but bullets, even weak ones, seem to have little trouble penetrating it, whatever its other strengths.

Extreme weakness to lightsabers: Lightsabers melt through it very easily. Its melts like butter.

High maintenance: The metal cannot be in a permanent shape. It must be regularly worked with telekinesis at least every three weaks. Without regular working, it becomes brittle and eventually weakens until worked with telekinesis again.

No blade for you: due to its lack of a permanent shape, it cannot be made into a sword blade, or any main weapon. It is best used for upgrades.

Each piece is stronger with its maker: Due to the personal nature of its creation each piece responds strongest to the one who forged it, and while it can be worked by others they will always struggle more.

Like paper: For the same reasons it cannot withstand slugs, it also cannot withstand vibroweapons

DESCRIPTION

The Resistors of Darkness were ancient Green Jedi and hunters of Dark Side creatures. Famed for their high success rate the Resistors were eventually felled from within when one of their exiled members returned as a Nightsister trained Dark Sider and killed them all in their stronghold. Of their Consular Steel, it seems to be a flawed, niche creation noted as much for its eccentric creation process as the threats it specifically defends against. But it has one highly useful trait. It can be controlled very easily with the Force, though its need to be constantly worked to maintain its strength prevents Consular steel for use in more then specialized upgrades to grips, chest and arm armor, and helmets. After the tragedy, their knowledge was recovered by other Jedi and hidden away on Dantooine. Why is unknown...there were far better places and more highly secured. Nevertheless, Fate has set A bounty hunter and a Jedi Master to uncover its secrets after they were entombed in an ancient underground section of the old jedi enclave on Dantooine...

Production: Minor
The maximum production for restricted materials (this utilizes force imbuement) is semi-unique production without utilizing a tier 6 company, with creating force-related objects as a specialty, as a manufacturer, and utilizing a tier 6 company allows a maximum of limited production.

Affiliation: Any Green Jedi, Jedi, or Light sided character.
Semi-Unique production is defined as being usable by a maximum of 10 characters at any given point in time, your affiliation is too broad to reflect this. Please change it to something more narrow that fits its production.

Should I have the affiliation be someone else? I'm doing a thread with matsu. I could alter its history if that would help. I'm not actually certain what course I should take and welcome imput.
