GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Organization Name: Consolidated Holdings of the Galactic Banking Concern ( CH-GBC )
  • Classification: Conglomerate
  • Affiliation: CH-GBC itself maintains a facade of neutrality, serving clients across political spectrums for maximum profit and influence.
  • Organization Symbol:
  • Description: The Galactic Banking Concern (CH-GBC) is a leviathan of galactic finance, the product of the deliberate and ruthless merger of The Galactic Capital Bank, Regency Spires Imperial Trust, Cortez Banking Clan, Bank of Coruscant, Salzulm Banking Clan and Galactic Trade Network. It operates as a vast holding company overseeing a dizzying array of commercial and personal banking, investment management, corporate financing, currency exchange, asset securitization, high-risk venture capital, and discreet wealth management (including for less savory clients).
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Dramassia
  • Domain:
    • Core Worlds: Major financial centers (Coruscant, Corellia, Kuat, etc.) house towering regional headquarters and cater to elite clients and governments.
    • Mid Rim & Expansion Regions: Significant presence through acquired regional banks, financing development, resource extraction, and trade.
    • Outer Rim:
      • Selective but growing influence, often through less regulated subsidiaries financing mining operations, shipping conglomerates, and local power brokers. Relationships are transactional: valued clients receive premium service; struggling populations face predatory lending or asset forfeiture. The conglomerate maintains an aloof, professional facade publicly, seen as a necessary (if sometimes cold) engine of commerce.
  • Notable Assets:
    • Orbital Treasury Platforms: Secure, mobile banking hubs positioned near major trade routes or conflict zones.
    • Data Nexus Fortresses: Heavily guarded facilities on remote, barren worlds housing financial records, algorithmic trading engines, and blackmail material.
    • Acquired Subsidiary HQs: Repurposed headquarters of absorbed banks on key worlds like Coruscant, Corellia, Eriadu, and Bespin (Cloud City).
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy:
    • Chairman:
    • Executive Council:
    • Sector Directors: Manage operations within specific galactic regions.
    • Planetary/System Managers: Oversee local branches and subsidiaries.
    • Department Heads (Finance, Loans, Security, IT, Compliance, etc.).
    • Mid-Level Staff (Analysts, Account Managers, Loan Officers).
    • Junior Staff & Support Personnel.
    • Contracted Security (Internal Auditors, Enforcement, Black Ops - often deniable).
  • Membership: Estimated 500,000+ employees galaxy-wide.
    • Hiring is based on merit (quantitative skills, financial acumen, discretion), nepotism (for trusted families), or leverage (recruiting individuals with useful skills or compromising data). High-level positions require intense vetting and personal approval from upper management or the CEO. Lower levels involve standard corporate recruitment.
  • Climate:
    • High-pressure, competitive, and paranoid. Success is lavishly rewarded (bonuses, perks, status). Failure is punished (demotion, termination, or worse for sensitive roles). Intense internal competition is encouraged to weed out the weak.
  • Reputation:
    • Governments: Seen as an indispensable, powerful, and ruthless partner. Necessary for large-scale projects and liquidity, but known for driving hard bargains and leveraging debt for influence.
    • Businesses: A vital source of capital but also a potential predator. Feared for its acquisition strategies and market dominance.
    • General Populace: Viewed as a distant, uncaring entity. Associated with high fees, complex contracts, foreclosures, and financing conflicts. Neutral to negative, seen as part of an oppressive, impersonal financial system.
  • Curios:
    • The CH-GBC Sigil Pin: A subtle, high-quality lapel pin of the conglomerate's symbol, worn by all employees. Material and design denote rank (e.g., durasteel for juniors, silver for managers, beskar-laced platinum for executives).
    • Encrypted Data Chips: High-level members and field agents carry uniquely encrypted CH-GBC chips for secure access to systems and verification of authority.
    • "Consolidation Bonds" (Metaphorical): High-performing members might be granted privileged investment opportunities or debt forgiveness instruments within CH-GBC's own financial products, binding them further to the corporation.
  • Rules:
    • Expand Market Share: Relentlessly pursue growth and eliminate competition.
    • Mitigate Risk: Assess and neutralize threats to assets and operations (financial, political, physical).
    • Leverage Opportunity: Exploit weakness, information asymmetry, and debt for advantage.
    • Maintain Deniability: Operate through layers of subsidiaries and cutouts. Protect the core.
    • Discretion is Paramount: Client confidentiality is sacrosanct, unless violating it serves a higher Directive. Internal secrets are guarded fiercely.
  • Goals:
    • Absolute Financial Dominance: Become the undisputed primary financial institution across the galaxy.
    • Vertical Integration: Control not just finance, but key industries (shipping, resources, manufacturing) through debt leverage and strategic investment.
    • Influence Governance: Shape galactic and planetary policy to favor CH-GBC's interests through lobbying, campaign financing, and discreet coercion.
    • Neutralize Competitors: Continue absorbing or undermining rival financial institutions.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The galaxy has always been a tapestry of competing financial interests, from ancient Muun institutions to sector-specific credit co-ops and corporate treasuries. Periods of widespread instability, marked by shifting political landscapes and regional conflicts, created fertile ground for consolidation.

It was during one such prolonged era of financial uncertainty that a visionary, yet notoriously ruthless, financier, Sossi Hallisk Sossi Hallisk the Deputy Director of the InterGalactic Banking Clan.

Possessing immense personal wealth, a vast network of contacts (and blackmail material), and an unshakeable belief in the power of scale, they embarked on an audacious campaign.

One by one, The Galactic Capital Bank, Regency Spires Imperial Trust, Cortez Banking Clan, Bank of Coruscant, Salzulm Banking Clan and Galactic Trade Network were targeted using various tactics from aggressive stock buyouts, offering lifelines of capital laden with crippling terms, exploiting regulatory loopholes and when necessary leveraging less conventional forms of persuasion.

Within a remarkably compressed timeframe, what began as a series of targeted takeovers coalesced into a single, monolithic financial entity: the Consolidated Holdings of the Galactic Banking Concern. Headquartered on the traditional world of Dramassia, the CH-GBC emerged not as a new player, but as the dominant synthesis of many old ones, a colossus straddling the galactic economy.
