Connecting

Going from end of the galaxy to the other was something quite shocking to Aevan. The meeting of so many different people and cultures with their own beliefs far outside of what she was familiar with. She heard there were Sith and Jedi, of course she met most often with non Force users, those she would consider mundane. There were no other Shapers that she met though.

The young woman was used to being around her own people and felt a little out of place among the larger populated locations. Out of place wasn't quite the right way to put it, but maybe uncomfortable would be a better way. So she took to space again in her craft and looked at the different routes through hyperspace she could pick from. Not knowing where it would lead, she set out for what was called the Wild Regions.

When her ship came out of hyperspace, she looked at the planet below. There were a few settlements, but for the most part looked like a good place where she could connect with nature again. She brought her ship down through the atmosphere and landed at the spaceport there. Renting a speeder, she struck out into the nearby nature to find a good location to connect with it.

This was not a barren planet like she grew up on, but a forested one. The road out of town, pointed in the direction of a few local sights and the map she had picked up hinted to her of more secluded areas to be found. This seclusion is what she was after. A location where she could practice her power and not be seen by people. To be a Shaper was uncommon and while a person might think she was just a Force user, it was different.

She traveled for a few hours until her intuition told her to stop. It was almost the middle of nowhere, there was a small hamlet in the distance and in the other what looked like a dormant volcano. Smiling, Aevan turned to head to the volcano. It was about as close to the type of land she was used to that she had found so far.

The grasses thinned out as she approached the volcano. Even though it wasn't actively erupting, the woman felt the life still hidden inside. As one with the fire element, she felt like she was at home near this volcano. Gathering up some brush, Aevan went about setting up a camp area at the foot of the volcano. Once that was done, she took out her flute and sat down to make music.

Soon enough, she rose to her feet again and started dancing around the fire she had made. In her joy at connecting with fire once again, the young woman was oblivious to everything that was around her.

Traveling to this side of the galaxy had been a dull affair for Kentarch. This forested planet, with its isolated settlements and small population, was too much a backwater for likes of Kentarch in which remote planets held a special allure. The name of this place seemed to escape him, and he wondered if anyone would even taken interest in it aside from xenobiologists and cartographers.

Geographical opinions aside, this planet held nothing of interest to Kentarch, who had spent nearly a week surveying and prospecting the planet for any rare earth minerals or energy resistant metals. The project had proven to be fruitless and now the Sith wanted nothing more than make his way back to his Geonosis. Although he would effectively be walking back to the CIS with nothing to show for it aside from wasted time on the payroll.

"Get everything on the ship and prepare to move out! Stop slacking off and get back to work you rotworms!" He barked at one the laborers loading hisnear his ship. The Sith Lord decided to take out his frustrations verbally on the local dock workers. As he watched the locals toil, there was a sudden change in the wind direction of the wind. Subtle, to the point where the common man would not take notice. But there was something more to it, something driven by the force. He could sense it. His gaze trailed off to a distant volcano, long dormant as his surveyors had told him.

The Dark Side of the Force had shown him something. "Get a speeder bike ready."

The confused workers prepared a bike, and with all haste Kentarch raced off towards the volcano, his figure cloaked in black, hood drawn and robes fluttering in the wind. Passing a small hamlet, the grass began to thin, and the sun now dipped below the horizon. The journey was much longer than he expected. But soon his instincts told him to stop, and continue the journey on foot. Eventually he spotted to be what was a camp fire, and then he could feel it, someone gifted in the force. A strong and unique connection.

As he grew closer he realized it was a young woman, she danced oblivious to the world around her. Yet she seemed somehow connected to the fire, the Sith Lord could feel the connection. He watched, her features distinct, her power raw, unrefined but gifted in the darkness. Finally after he came to a conclusion on his observations he reached out with his hand. The wind around [member="Aevan Kitaki"] seemed to rush in suddenly around the fire, and it was extinguished.

Part of a test, he wanted to see how the girl would react to her surroundings now the fire was gone.

Aevan was unaware of the approach of Kentarch as she danced and played her flute. Just the fact she was able to do this made her feel like herself. One with the fire and the sleeping volcano. Her song was somber and took her back home in her mind. Though she was dancing was slow, she moved with a sure grace and familiarity with her steps.

The air around her had been still, but a sudden and unexpected gust blew past and apparently snuffed her fire. Knowing she had built it strong, she turned to see what had happened. On doing so, she saw him standing in the shadows. It was not fully dark out and his presence was unmistakable. Standing in the shadows, but not attacking her was a sign she took that he wasn't here to harm her.

Waving her hand, a small bolt of fire went to the wood and relit the fire. She did this without looking away from the stranger. With another motion, she would invite Kentarch out of the shadows and closer to her fire. At the tips of the hand that relit the fire, a flame might be seen if he was observant.
