Confrontation

Dalansa

Little Miss Psychopath
Dalansa watched the sun set on Arkania, waiting for sundown to leave. She was here to end a man. Her maker. The sun lowered until it was nothing more than a sliver in the horizon. It was time to move.

Through the streets, which she had been so many times, the Offshoot walked. She was an outcast, and it wasn't uncommon for one of her kind to slip along into the night. The laboratory where she was born was looming over her now, and the back door was ajar. Slipping in, she bumped into a tall man, her maker. Drawing her Zhaboka, she ran it through his heart. "Remember me?" The tattoos of the slavers, the lightsaber, the new stance, wasn't enough to throw him off. He died with her name on his lips.

And then the alarms rang out. Cursing, the ex-slave ran for her ship.

Being a Pantoran Nasika was used to cold climates. Her people treated it like nothing too severe unlike humans and most other species who needed to wear heavier clothing. Still she had been hear in order to soak up a little of what her home was like, being that she knew she could not risk going back. Also she had read up on how, for all padawans, she would need to go to the cold planet of Illum to construct a proper lightsaber. And was she ever ready for it because, for the time she'd begun training, all she had was a messily practice saber. As painful and able to kill as it could be when at its highest setting it wasn't exactly as intimidating as a real one.

Nasika was just about to make for the space port when she heard alarm ring out. She glanced up and around, trying to see what the source of it was. Then she believed she had her answer when she saw a blue skinned whited haired woman making a run for it. Nasika began to worry this woman was in fact a criminal, possibly a dangerous one. She could've just as easily ignored her and continued to the space port, however she was a Jedi. A padawan maybe but still a Jedi and they were the ones to bring order and brings those to justice. As such she had a duty to do.

Taking a deep breath and swallowing what fears she had Nasika ran after the woman, calling for her "Hey! Stop!"

Spinning on her heals, Dalansa spotted @[member="Nasika Serizawa"]. Jedi? Crap. Leaving her sword at her side, she pulled her lightsaber handle off her belt. Glaring, holding the saber in her hand, she readied for the girl to move. Jedi she may be, but Dalansa had more experience in combat. All that time in a dueling ring. The thing was, a saber was different. Much different. The blade had no weight. "Why?" The question escaped from her lips before she could stop it. And so here she was, stepping into the ring of a duel, against an opponent who probably had her outmatched. Her saber was cold. That wouldn't last.

Just as she saw her stop Nasika skidded to a stop herself, the snow under her feet almost making her trip for a moment. She could see the woman had her own saber, Nasika gulping a little. It was too late to turn back now, It was clear a challenge was set and, being a Jedi, Nasika knew she couldn't back down. She just hoped what little training she had would help in the fight. She pulled out her training saber and activated it, setting it to a slightly high setting.

In answer to her question Nasika said "B-Because you've obviously done something wrong. And...and as a Jedi I will have to take you in to face justice." with as brave a face as she could summon.

"Justice? You couldn't find that for me in this star system." The Offshoot activated her own saber, the blue blade glimmering on the snow. Holding it like one would a vibroblade, rather than a saber, she stood. If this Jedi wanted to try and take her down, she would defend herself. And that ment as much offence as defence. Spinning on her heals again, she went back to running.

Seeing her blade activate Nasika took a fighting stance, putting her blade out in front of her and pointing up. She made sure her footing was right and that her hands were tight around the hilt as she knew what would come next.

"Regardless....I....I have to take you in. I'll take you back to Courascant if I have to." she said, still trying to look brave in the face of this danger.

@[member="Dalansa"] (Just curious is your saber a double-blade like in the picture or just one?)

@[member="Nasika Serizawa"] OOC: Double. I just activated one side, though.

Take her to Courascant? Not likely. "Even that will put me in an unfair position." Turning again, the girl drew closer to the Pantoran. Swinging her blade down on her opponent's head, her face cleared of the scowl, the grimace. She looked calm, serine. No emotion played on her face. The blade would split the girl's skull. But no Jedi would be dumb enough to not block that. She was testing her opponent. If it worked, good. If not, than she would be able to mount enough of a defence to hold her own.

Nasika was shocked by this, the first move of the first real combat experience in her life. Quickly she brought her saber up and blocked, taking the weight of the strike for a moment before pushing back. She just stood there, a bit surprised she'd done what she just did. Here she was, a nervous little girl like herself taking on what seemed like a more experienced warrior. Quickly she pushed the woman back with her saber and stood back in the same position as before, trying to show she wasn't helpless.

Stepping back, and watching the padawan return to her original guard, the ex-slave swung her weapon again, this time in an uppercut. The blade hummed through the air, heading directly for her opponent's saber. However, she moved to miss, sweeping up past her opponent and activating the second blade. It extended to connect with @[member="Nasika Serizawa"]'s saber mid-swing, and then she switched the direction, bringing the second blade down on the girl's shoulder. The result was the beginning of a series of powerful blows designed to drive her opponent back, off her balance. The snow just made this easier.

Seeing it coming for the uppercut Nasika moved, only to be caught off guard at the last moment by the sudden activation of the second blade. Nasika moved in time but was singed at her shoulder a little by the swing. She rolled away and felt her wound for a moment before the woman began attacking with all the heavy blows. This was already growing sour and fast. This woman had a double saber the entire time and Nasika should've known. She was lucky she was keeping up with each attack but it was clear she was having trouble standing up to the heavy blows. She wasn't exactly the strongest in her class. And from the looks in her eyes it was clear Nasika was barley able to keep up.

As the strikes rained down, the Offshoot began to speak, each blow coming down with all the force she could muster. "Just." Her saber came down to meet her opponent's. The crack of each contact rang through the alley, and she was sure that the law would be here soon enough. "Let." Her blade came up, sweeping to the side. "Me." She lashed out again, and let go of the saber with one hand, preparing to deactivate one blade and strike at the girl again. "Go."

Each blow felt like the verge of a limb being ready to crack. It was clear she was putting as much strength into her attacks far more than Nasika could match. She was lucky she could keep up but it was starting to get to her. In one fell swoop the practice saber was knocked out of her hand just as she'd managed to block the last strike. It flew too far away for her to run for or reach so she was defenseless. Nasika stood there, no weapon and no way out. Fear had begun to get the better of her as she held her arms up like a shield.

She let out a loud "Get back!" before, much to her surprise, she let out a large wave of the force when she did.

It reacted to her emotions, a rookie mistake but one she'd forgotten in the heat of battle. She wasn't sure how much damage it did, only that she could feel it exit her like a blast from gun. When she realized this she looked around, surprised at what she did.

The blast knocked Dalansa'saber out of her hands and skidding in the snow, along with the Offshoot. Dazed, she stood up, drew her zhaboka, and charged. She didn't want to give the Jedi time to reach her saber, but at the same time, didn't think that she could run at this point. Get rid of the Jedi, kill any police that got between her and the Starsnow, and get off-planet. That was her goal. Now, if @[member="Nasika Serizawa"] would corporate, she would be out before midnight.

Shaking off the stunned feeling of her force moment Nasika could see the woman charging with the zhaboka. She could see her saber nearby and, taking the moment, rolled out of the way from the woman's advances. While she wasn't used to it Nasika tried to use the force to summon the saber to her. Her moment of need seemed to pay off as it same to her. She ignited the training saber and closed her eyes as she swung, expecting it to hit the back of the woman's head. The setting it was one would only give her a bad blow to the head, not chop it off or the like.

The duel blades went past the Jedi, and Dalansa kept going. Never stopping, the saber struck the back of her head, sending her tumbling down into the snow. The world spun. It hurt. And her blades were put of reach. Dazed, the Offshoot stood, attempting to clear her head. Focusing on a silver gleam on the other side of the Jedi, she walked forward, her left hand balled into a fist. Raising her right arm up to defend from her opponent's saber, which she figured wouldn't cut, she swung her fist into the girl's stomach. But it never hit. The Force flew out of her hand, a push blasting out. She was left with no options. If this failed, she would be in serious trouble.

For a moment Nasika actually thought she had a chance to win, seeing how the blow to the head actually hit her. But during Nasika's time to see the woman's weapon fly off and thinking she had the upper hand she didn't react in time to the sudden force push. All Nasika could do was hold her arms like a shield before being flung back. She fell back and slid for a moment, her training saber falling out of her hand in the process. By the time she recovered Nasika couldn't see her saber but could see the one @[member="Dalansa"] used. Quickly she got up and ran before making a jumping slid, using the snow to help, and made for Delansa's leg, hoping to tackle her before she could make for the saber.

Dalansa rushed forward, hoping to get to her blade before her opponent recovered. Unfortunately for her, @[member="Nasika Serizawa"] hit her legs mid-air. As they gave out, the Offshoot swung her fist down, hard, on her opponent's knee. If nothing else, it would hurt. Falling just out of reach of her blade, she reached down, scooping up a handful of snow. It was powdery, and she flung it at her adversary's eyes. Rising to a knee, she reached down for the saber.

The first thing Nasika felt after tackling her down was the hit to the knee. She let out a little moan of pain before seeing the snow coming for her eyes. She tried to stop it but wasn't fast enough before it was rubbed into her eyes. Nasika yelled a little as she tried to swat it out, in time enough to see her opponent making for her saber again. Reacting she reached out and grabbed the woman's ankle before getting up and trying to pull her back, getting her as far from her saber as she could.

Again, just before getting her weapon back, the Jedi stopped her. It was a bit annoying. She tensed her free leg, and kicked backwards as hard as she could. With any luck, it would break the girl's hold. If not, she tried something else. Pressing both her hands into the snow, she pushed with the force on the ground. The effect would send her into a spin, twisting the ankle @[member="Nasika Serizawa"] held and landing her in her back in the same spot.

The kick to her chest made Nasika let go and even made her fall back. She coughed for a moment as she needed to regain herself but, much to her luck, she landed right next to her saber. She smiled a bit at how lucky that was before picking it up, dusting it off of snow and then activating it and standing ready to see how the woman would counteract to it. She still had to keep a brave face to her opponent for the Jedi never gave into fear.
