The words slipped beneath thought, burrowing deep beneath exhaustion and beyond the weary ache that pulsed behind his eyes. For one dreadful moment, his body seemed to answer before he did. Braze's hand lifted slightly, his fingers twitching toward the imagined visual of an unseen door waiting somewhere beyond the left-hand passage, as though some quiet, obedient part of him had already accepted the instruction.

He paused before the faintest hint of a smile graced his tired lips… A slow, crooked little smile touched his mouth, faint as a blade drawn halfway from its sheath.

"No," he said softly. "I don't think I have to listen to you… But I will do you the kindness of unlocking it…" He reached out and grasped the doorknob purposefully, twisting it and pulling it open.

"Would you kindly stop pretending you're the brave one, behave yourself, and come along with me this time?" he asked.

He paused looking back to Oz Neru Oz Neru then... " Grandpa huh? Does that mean we can rely on you to protect us both?"

The pantoran watched closely as they spoke to one another. Sensing a shift between the two of them. A development he didn’t quite understand the full context behind. He straightened his posture and let go of the boy's shoulders. Perhaps some of what he said was starting to come true now.

When Braze finally addressed him with a question Oz let out an amused laugh. “Oh my, you’ve really spun that back around on me haven't you, dear child. That I can do yes, but as good grandchildren I expect you to both do as you’re told.” The blue Sith replied, fully accepting to play the role. He also wanted to make sure that Braze and Avarice won’t interfere with his personal mission here. All three can leave this place feeling fulfilled and accomplished. No need for him to try and ruin a good thing.

"And what does that entail, old man?"
Avarice asked, drawing in a slow breath before letting it out through his nose, as though Oz's good humor had become something sour in the air.

"Do you presume to enlist our assistance in finding that which you have so carelessly misplaced?"

He pulled away from the touch with immediate distaste, shoulders slipping free as if Oz's hand had left filth upon his robes. Avarice took several steps ahead, boots whispering over old dust and damp stone, then turned back to face them both with his arms folded.

"I have little patience for ceaseless games, or being led in circles. You are going to have to be more direct." His lust red eyes settled on Oz, narrow and bright beneath the gloom.

"What did you lose? Or better yet… what did this place take from you?"

Only then did his gaze slide toward Braze, watching for the smallest change in the exhausted Jedi's face.

"And before you answer, choose your words carefully. I am not fond of being handled, herded, or adopted into sentimental little arrangements for your amusement."

"I thought I told you to behave yourself?" Braze asked softly, moving to stand by Avarice as he reached out and wrapping an arm about Avarice's arm. "But he does have a point... What are you looking for out here?" Braze asked.

Oz took in Avarice’s critical words and nodded along to them. “You wish to know a little more do you? That is fair. I don’t really require much from the two of you. Only that you don’t interfere with me this day. As for what I’ve “misplaced” as you put it. It’s a memory, an old memory that has been tampered with. This place has taken nothing from me, I hold no grudge over it.” He answered to the two snowy pale boys. Still choosing his words carefully and not revealing too much. If there were to be a surprise he didn’t want to spoil their fun with an early revelation.

The pantoran walked past the two boys to continue along deeper into the tomb. Taking the lead to the left side passage, darkened and choked with a canopy of gnarled roots. “This way, and stay close, you don’t want to get yourself caught in the roots.” Oz spoke over his shoulder, his tone suggesting some kind of prior experience. Moving further along the path other memories came forth in his mind. The pair of boys may have even felt it. Stress crawling through Oz’s mind and body as he avoided the grasps of the stationary swirling roots. As though he didn’t trust them to stay still.

“Just a little further…” He said, mostly to himself however. Light glinted through the veil of roots ahead of them. Finally opening up into a large chamber, one that was more naturally formed than some of the others. Thin and spindly stalactites and stalagmites peppered the ceiling and floor of it. Natural light shined in from above, likely formed by an old sinkhole. Around them on the cave walls and floors were shadows, humanoid shaped silhouettes scorched into the cave itself. Oz narrowed his fiery eyes. “I do not remember this place…” He muttered to himself. The shadows had to have been a recent addition to the necropolis. Evidence of some unknown struggle, Perhaps one of the many mysteries left behind from the 400 years of darkness.

Oz stepped closer to the center of the chamber they found themselves in. He felt metaphysical echoes in The Force amplified where he stood. Insightful rays of light shining from overhead. Closing his eyes he internally tried his best to decipher what was needed of him now. He looked back to Braze and Avarice with a friendly smile. “I require something of you two. Avarice, would you please stand right here.” He said pointing to his right. “And right here for you, Braze.” Oz added, pointing to his left, separating the two for the moment.
