A dark shuttle flew through airspace of the capital on a path directly at the Chancellery of Unity, specifically the part of it known as the Tower of the Left. Charles sat inside quietly, thinking to himself as he prepared mentally for what he knew that he had to do. Under all of his robes and clothing were the bandages from where he had been slashed, cut, stabbed, and bit while protecting Mir Rhor from harm. It was a sign of a body that had given itself as a shield for someone, but no one whom had struck that shield still walked… no… they died very painful deaths at the hands of the Sith. Sitting at his side was the young girl whom it had all been for. Charles kept his arm draped gently over the seat behind her in a manner that was typical for him… acting like a protective brother figure.

The main worry he had at that moment though was not what was going to happen to those who were supposed to watch over the C o C project… oh no those people had signed themselves up to have their jobs ruined if he could help it. Only those who his Master absolutely needed would be spared, and once done Charles would have Director Ben pick out the best guards possible from the Executioners. Men who could easily track and follow Mir should she escape again or at least allow him to know where might be going. Not only that, they would need to be men he could trust, so Tranquility would need to run the background checks and make the final say so in the end. Sure it was a lot to be set up, but as he turned an eye to glance at the one person in the universe who seemed to shift his cold dark heart with any true warmth… well… it was worth it. That was including his desire to take responsibility for Mir’s actions in the first place.

Charles never found his Master to be an unreasonable man, and certainly not illogical. He would not have followed him if he was. He didn’t exactly know about Mir till much later anyway, and by then he had come to believe in the man’s vision for the Union. So much so that he had no ambition to supplant the Sith Lord, he was perfectly happy following… so long as long any dog he was taken care. That was why today worried him. Mir was the variable when it came to this, a potential place that could split that loyalty, and so he always was doing mental gymnastics to balance the two. That would including taking the little girl’s place whenever it came to being punished, ”We will be touching down in a few moments sir, it is a little wet outside, be careful of the rain.”

Looking up the Sith only nodded as he actually stood up… the effect of landing didn’t seem to have much effect on him even as he slung the sack of crystals over his shoulders as the ramp opened. The male who as usual in in Mir’s presence wasn’t wearing his mask smiled, as he held out his hand for her to take, to be honest though it was just the large man’s teeth clenching together. Once she did he walked at her side gingerly to docking ramp, and letting go of the girl’s hand, he would reach back take hold of his cloak… holding it up high enough that it provided Mir with complete protection from the rain as they walked. True Charles got soaked, but that hardly mattered, as a doctor for the test subject he did what he could to make sure they didn’t take any risk to their health. So as they walked inside the Sith turned the corner, not knowing what was about to happen he simply reached down and ruffled Mir’s hair saying,

”Hey Mir whatever happens… just remember… we have had a lot together haven’t we…” His words were warm, kind, fatherly and very uncharacteristic in their tone for the Sith’s normal way of speaking. It wouldn’t be the first time she had heard him speak that same cryptic phrase. If she connected it with the fact that she would be their while he was around Cardius was a different story. He always worried about what the end result would be for the girl after everything… maybe he was getting too involved as the professional he claimed to be. Still his Master had never failed to constantly ‘award’ him as it were… giving him the small things that Charles needed to stay loyal. What he was never sure of… was the Sith Lords vagueness on the matter a method of doing so.

Whenever they reached the room that was usually used for the meetings between the two, Charles reached out and pressed the button guiding Mir into the room. He waited until the door close behind and bowed at the waist almost instantly. Not only was he in his Master’s presence, but Mir’s as well. The basic bottom of the totem pool… well at least from Charles point of view, and so looking at the ground he spoke, ”Master I have returned from leading the Tomb Fleet against our enemies, as well as Ilum to bring these Kyber Crystals. Whenever I was there I ran into an unexpected guest… Mir it seemed decided to go for a little walk and found her way across the system deep in those caves. However it happened Master I take responsibility… don’t punish her for it.”

As he said that Charles hand slowly came up between Cerduis and Mir, but not once did he look up. His large body at that moment was completely tensed up ready to protect the young girl just like he was assigned to. He would use his body to do so even from his Master’s anger, even if the act was accidental. He knew from experience that the dark side could cause one to do things by lashing out if they were not careful. It showed a bit of weakness for the male when it came to the girl oh how the silly man could be sentimental sometimes.

He could sense it, when sitting in his chair and watching over reports coming from all over the union, the man behind it all was now calmly awaiting the arrival from one of the Navy's men, a personal attachment having formed with this bright man had lead to a mutual understanding and eventually, the promise of knowledge in return for servitude and loyalty. Though Credius knew very well the dangers of having students, especially when they themselves were Sith, he saw himself as above the typical constraints and codes of those adhering to the tennets of the Sith or otherwise. After all, in all his years since his ascension to the rank of Lord, the force master had not encounter a single being that could best him on all fronts. Sure, the Sith Emperor was a most formidable and imposing force user, but he seemed to lack vision, the Vicelord of the confederacy had power and vision, but lacked the will necessary to do what needed to be done. However, the Chancellor of the Left did not have the attachments they had, allowing him to persue goals far beyond the understanding of even the mightiest Sith or Jedi.

When at last, Charles Castex Charles Castex arrived, the Chancelor simply rose from his seat, walking from behind his desk to look at the lanky, tall man and...a child he had seemingly brought with him. As the Chancellor's eyes turned to the child, his blazing irises surrounding a slit pupil staring practically straight into the child's very soul, a grin appeared on his face in recognition. "I see, so you are one of those young ones that has managed to bond fully with the injected material. Very impressive, if I say so myself," Turning his attention to Charles, Credius held his hands behind his back and let out a soft, dry chuckle. "Do not fret too much about the sense of curiosity and natural desire to explore that any healthy child has, my friend."

Looking at the bag the man was holding, again a chuckle left the Chancellor's lips, his left hand reaching out and awaiting to be handed over the collected materials. "Very well, if you have collected the necessary materials, it is about time we start crafting you a weapon, a tool befitting of a man of your position and power," Motioning the man to follow him, the Chancellor walked over to the wall behind his desk, holding his cypher against one of the books in the shelf, at which point the wall simply slid upwards, revealing a large room with various additional bookshelves and holocron storages. "I have taken the liberty of assorting a wealth of material samples for this very moment, Now...shall we begin with the most essential part? Find your crystal among the ones you brought, allow the crystal to speak to you, to fall for you. Should you not find the one which loves you most, find the one which hates and detests you most."

Looking at the child, the Chancellor laughed. "Why don't you give it a try as well, my dear?"

It took everything in his power, every fiber of his being, for the Sith to not take the small step between Mir and Credius whenever the Chancellor rose from his chair and began to stare at the girl. True the Sith Lord had nothing to gain by hurting the child… yet, but it was that yet which always put Charles on edge. It was what made him worry and why he started having Tranquility help him find more subjects for the project… so that one day just maybe he could assuage his worries. It was only when the man started grinning that he felt he could relax, large shoulder heaving with weight they had been carrying released as he came up from his bow. He hoped that she would not get mad at him for introducing her, but he played it off like he was introducing someone very important, as he always did with Mir to make her feel special. Stepping to the side he gave flourish of his hands… showing his more playful side to his Master that wasn’t exactly unknown,

”Yes my lady Mir has done quite an excellent job if I do say so myself. Her ability to bond with the injected material was quiet remarkable… better than any such subjected. She is a remarkable young lady…” Straightening back up he knew that the theatrics may have been a little much, but nothing was too much for his dear Mir. Charles was just glad though that the situation had settled down, at least from his own point of few, and the biggest potential threat to Mir in the room wasn’t presenting themselves as so for the moment. The Sith smiled at least the best that he could having no cheeks and lips, scratching behind his head as he laughed awkwardly along with his Master, the presence of bandages that covered the wounds on his hands and arms were very obvious,

”I try not to, it is simply that I have come to be rather fond of her and I find that fondness fuels my inner rage to new heights. No that is not the correct way to put it... I would say that it focuses it what is there into a fine killing tool since I have a goal. On Ilum I cut down and stolen the life from so many creatures to reach her side and make sure she was safe. It was an… interesting display of unbridled fury, anger, and so many other emotions. It was… strange, but I have had measures corrected to allow her to go out and not feel so trapped within the research center. It is why she is with me now… and an extra security detail will be assigned there while I am around for just that purpose with your approval. I don’t ask for much, just a group of guards than can give Mir escorted walks and such?” He planned on running the idea by Tranquility while he was planet side as well, given that the AI was the one running the project. Charles wasn’t sure if Credius would want him to talk to the AI about the idea before implementing it. Holding out the bag to the outstretched hand, the male gave it over to the other, ”I am sure you will find that everything is in order, both me and Mir picked out a few of themselves ourselves whenever we picked out which ones we wanted from the caves. I have been thinking about what type of weapon I want to fight with that is unless you have any requirements…”

Charles would let his voice fade off as he followed after the man, constantly checking behind him to make sure that Mir was ok or that she was going to follow after them into what seemed to be a secret work space. He walked along the walls curiously examining any items that were there and this would include any holocron’s though he was careful not to touch. He had very close personal experience on how he knew why that was a bad idea. Looking up at Credius, Charles would pay close attention to his Master as always, before turning his eyes to the table. Purposefully reaching out to each crystal that had been place and laying them out before them in a very ordered manner. This also allowed him a chance to examine each one in turn, and it wasn’t hard to find a specific one that stood out from the others because of its ‘affection’ could be the right word? Oh he knew that he was probably going to have to do something to it, to bend its will to the dark side, but for now he wanted to answer his master’s question truthfully.

”I believe this one will do Master Credius…” Holding out the crystal waited for the other’s reply, but was caught off guard by the fact he also wanted Mir to do it as well. Was the Sith Lord suggesting that the girl make a saber as well? To be honest it would allow her to protect herself, and give someone for him to study the way of using it beside… it certainly made things interesting.

Was it curiosity?

NO

Was it playfulness?

NO

What was it that made Mir so anxious in the presence of this man, this calm and collected person who so callously walked over to brother Charles, who dismissed her favorite person so mercilessly, diminishing the brotherly man she knew so well to a quivering animal. Who was this man, that he dared to act as if he owned her and her brother?

She felt it burbling inside her, tendrils of this strange feeling she sometimes had, stretchingout towards this lone figure. Then it hit her, when those tendrils reached out towards Charles Castex Charles Castex she could feel a cold, a deep cold, but still there was a flickering ember of warmth within him, but that man...as soon as those tendrils reached out towards him...her entire body shivered, as if she was dropped into the deepest darkest void of space, with not a single star within a thousand lightyears, a frozen void of utter nothingness.

As the man came closer, Mir could not refrain herself from instinctively taking a step back, feeling like a caged animal, her eyes darting around to find an exit, a way to escape. Even when the man smiled and chuckled, she could not help herself but to feel uncomfortable, intimidated and most of all terrified. She could hear what the two adults were talking about and she did not like it. She hardly knew what had happened to her, all she knew was that she had woken up in the Facility and that Charles was there and... that weird lady, but what was this about being a test subject?

"Uhm...do I need to find my crystal too...mister?" With a trembling hand, she finally spoke up, after having followed the mysterious man and Charles into the backroom in silence, her eyes avoiding contact with this...Chancellor, nervously looking at Charles in the meantime. "Because if it comes to a gem that loves me most...is right here..."

She pointed at Charles, she wasn't sure why, but it seemed something he carried was drawn to her just as much as she was drawn to it. At the same time though, she could feel the pulsating malice and hatred coming from the jewel around the other man's neck. "I'm sorry...was that the wrong choice, do I need to...listen to those crystals over there in stead?"

Charles had to restrain his desire to move even more so than before, to see Mir retreat backward in fear out of the corner of his eye was unacceptable. It didn’t matter who caused it, and sure he was getting better with Tranquility help at working on how strong his reaction was, in this case he didn’t see a problem with stepping between said ‘thing’ and the girl. The only problem was that this was his Master and he felt doing so would bring Mir just as much heartache as doing nothing. The girl was strong, he tried to raise her to be stronger every day, and she could bear this discomfort… if only for a little while. Despite all this the Sith could only control himself so much, as the hand he had between Mir and Credius curled ever so slightly… a careful movement that gave him catharsis, but didn’t crack his knuckle as he tended to do when he wanted to make a psychical threat to let someone know that they needed to back off. Charles had to admit that he was thankful the girl followed them, as it allowed him to keep her within arm’s reach for whatever reason she needed him, though he didn’t fully expect the Chancellor to ask Mir to look for a crystal too,

”Just take your time my lady… I am sure which ever one you pick will be the prefect crystal to fit you…” His words faded off at what Mir said, oh the child was so precious, proving once again how she was truly the light in his dark universe. A soft chuckle come from his lips that was warmer than anything the Chancellor would have seen from his apprentice. In fact the normally soulless look in Charles eyes became adoring towards the little girl as she pointed at him being the jewel that loved her the most. He had missed the point that she was talking about what he wore on his neck, but it still drew out a side of him that his Master would never see. In fact any tension from before was washed away along with any ‘fear’ if it could be called that. The large man leaned down and gently picked Mir up so that she could sit on the table right next to where he was standing, allowing her to be closer to him at eye level. Sweeping his arm over the jewels that were spread over the table as he noticed a second one that seemed to call out to him just as much as the first, and so decided to use it as a teaching moment. Reaching out to pick up the Kyber crystal Charles picked it up and held it in front of the girl,

”Mir my lady what have I always taught you. That you are never wrong… beside how could you be wrong about something you have not been taught. Ignorant yes, but not wrong… big difference. No you see it is one of these lovely crystals that you want to pick from that the nice Chancellor has offered to let you have. Remember you helped pick them out and so now you get to have a piece of the fruits of your labor. I believe that is how people are rewarded in the Union if I am correct? By how much they contribute or something like that I do admit the political ideology is beyond us isn’t it my dear…” As he said this Charles would turn around and playfully reach out to poke Mir’s nose, laughing as he placed his own two crystal’s to the side. Moving to help her out with find whichever one of the Kyber Crystals would suite her needs, it was obvious that the little girl brought out another side of the Sith. Picking up a hand full he held them up to Mir and asked her curiously, ”Do you see any among these that be yours Mir? Remember just take your time and try to look for the one that calls out to you…”

The problem was that Charles was leaving himself open to Mir’s other side. Normally the Sith carried a needle full of a special sedative to stick the girl with in case he needed to. He had found though that if he was too slow, that Rhor had a nasty habit of bending needles with the Force if you were not careful. Requiring other methods to knock the girl out that he didn’t have on himself at the moment…
BlpVHqS.png

Credius looked at the girl, something was rising up within him, anger, confusion, hunger, he could not pinpoint exactly what it was, but he did feel that she was not exactly much of a threat as she was presenting herself now, though he did note to himself that she may somehow be more dangerous than he had ever intended any of the chosen children to be. His assessment of how Charles Castex Charles Castex described the child was much to his own amusement, making it obvious that his gut feeling had been correct: this...Mir as she called herself had quite the formidable potential, yet seemed lacking any formal training or control over the true power she possessed...for now.

"Do understand, my friend...that if one's attachments are to great, too numerous or too obvious, they are not strengths, but exploitable weaknesses," Taking a step closer to Charles, the Chancellor slightly lifted his hand towards Mir, holding it besides the table so she wouldn't be able to see the black sparks of electricity flowing around his gloved hand, though Charles would be capable of seeing it. With a soft whisper towards the masked man, Credius was already granting him some insight, a lesson in a way. "I will condone your attachment to this child...as long as it is beneficial for me to do so, but if she becomes a liability to your work and your progress...you know what that means? She will be a weakness to you and by extension to me...do not forget, that all the Children live through my mercy and my will, that includes your precious little child here."

When eventually the two got to trying to find and discover their crystals, it was Charles who first seemed to have found his kyber crystal. It seemed to fit, the kybercrystal indeed seemed to have quite the attunement to the sith, but it was what came after which surprised the Chancellor even more, when the child pointed out that the crystal she liked the most was on Charles' person. Deciding not to act upon it too much, Credius turned to Mir and wanted to say something, but it seemed Charles was a bit quicker to react. In the end, when she as well had found her crystal, Credius suddenly laughed and turned his attention back to Charles. "Now all you need to do is make it bleed, make the crystal suffer by exerting your dominance, pour in all your hatred, fear and negativity into the crystal. Just like this..."

The Chancellor grabbed a handful of crystals and smiled, black sparks of electricity followed by a thick black smog envelopping the crystals until a whining, almost screaming sound could be heard. Instantly, the handful of crystals turned red, but without hesitation, they turned black and cracked before dissolving into dust. "Do know...only the cristal most attuned to you will be able to draw out the most perfect and stable form for itself."

”I make it a habit Master not to wear my attachments on my proverbial sleeve as they might say…” His words faded off as his eyes narrowed when he thought about his response… Credius was never one to say something without reason. The man never wasted his words, and as Charles considered what he meant he replayed his own actions… and it became obvious what he was talking about. Not that the Sith had any intention of changing the way he treated Mir, but he could see how it made the girl an obvious weakness on his part. Looking at her from the corner of his vison he knew that he would never be able to bring himself to change his attempts to give her a proper life… a proper childhood minus all the experiments. He saw so much of himself in her, not that he was willing to admit it to anyone except Tranquility. So the only the male saw that he could do was to make himself so imposing that no one would dare to harm Mir and it was the reason he continued to back his Master… the C o C project provided the girl another layer of protection he could leverage…

When Credius stepped closer though it didn’t take long for Charles to notice the ‘threat’ to Mir’s well-being even before the Chancellor spoke. The Sith’s entire body began to tense, sharp fingernails digging into his palms enough to draw a little blood, it was just like when he had been standing in front of the door. The difference was that this was a moment were had his Master not said anything, there was a chance that the protective dog that the large man was would have surfaced from his sub-conscious and he would have done something… foolish. As is was the self-control he had developed when it came to dealing with a powerful force like Credius taught him one thing… you always benefited whenever you knew the proper time to ‘kneel’. It was less that it was his own self-control in this matter, but his Master’s words, that washed over him like a refreshing breeze answering a few questions that he had left unvoiced, but not completely curing his paranoia. When it came to Mir… that would never happen,

”Then I will redouble my efforts a thousand fold Master to make sure that she is neither. That includes making me strong enough and useful enough so that I can ‘carry’ us both along to your satisfaction if that is what is required. I will state this unequivocally… and I won’t mince my words as I know you would prefer I didn’t. Anyone or anything who makes the mistakes of believing they can get to the child and then use her as a weakness to harm me or yourself will find even the smallest victory just as painful and their suffering at my hands as long lasting as total defeat.” As Charles said these words he purposefully looked the Chancellor right in the eye for just a moment so the other could understand the depth of his resolve on this matter. There was a fire lit in that gaze, not a rebellious one… no… far from it… it was someone who true took to heart what the other had said and was speaking of it and thinking of it in way that he needed to work harder and grow stronger.

One could say that it was unusual for the Sith to speak in such a way that was full of blind absolutes and yes Charles knew that was exactly what his words where. He was normally humble for someone of his skill, but on this matter what he would and wouldn’t do were not up for debate. Given that if he failed in the process of protecting Mir from any threat and that included being used in such a way against his Master that her life was deposed of by Credius for being a liability… then it would mean that he had died in process of trying to prevent it… or at very least brought mutual destruction to his enemies. As if to show that he was serious about his words, the male didn’t hesitate to follow the other’s example when it came to ‘making the crystals bleed’. The method he went about was a bit different as Charles own power tended to flow from his ability to absorb the life and memories of others, and so in this case what came out around his hand was not electricity, but black tendrils that flowed into the two crystals in his hand.

Charles didn’t stop with just his abilities, as he began to think about the things that brought about the emotion of hatred, negativity, fear, and the darkness in his soul. It was ironic that the crystals were stained with his own blood from where he had pricked his palms open moments ago, but the Sith found it easy with Credius in the room to do what was asked. All of those emotions were mixed up in how he felt about what the results of Chancellors plans for Mir were despite a few honeyed words. The pair of kyber crystals in his hand began to glow a soft red, bringing what could only be called an amused smile to Charles face based on the way his eyes shifted and his teeth came together. Holding them out he said, ”Have I managed to preform the bleeding process on these two crystals sufficiently for our purposes Master...?”

It was then that Charles realized something… as his eyes slowly turned to look over his shoulder at Mir. He was positive that the innocent young girl wouldn’t be able to do something like this. She wasn’t capable of such malice, at least not that he had seen… well… not from Mir anyway, but from Rhor… that was another story. This was what worried him the most, would Mir’s other personality decide to come out and ‘play’ just to try and complete this activity, so looking over his shoulder at her he asked, ”Mir do you understand the Chancellors instructions?...” He hoped that he was mistaken and the man really didn’t expect the girl to go through with it, because to be honest… he found the prospect that it might drag Rhor into the light of day to be risky at best. A guarantee at worse…

Reflection of a Monster
Mir was truly rather oblivious of what was going on between her big bro Charles Castex Charles Castex and the really scary and off putting man who seemed to be the one who stood above them all within this...what was it again? Zweihander Union?

She was quite unaware of what they were talking about and from what she could understand and hear, it seemed as if the ...Chancellor person was giving her big bro a lesson of some sorts. It did not matter to her though, she just had to focus on the crystal she had chosen and proceed with what she had been told to do: to pour all negativity and hatred into the crystal to make it bleed or something. She wasn't sure though, as the more she concentrated and tried to do the right thing as she was told, the harder it became to focus.

You weakling

Mir looked up, turnedher head left and right and wondered what it was that had managed to spook her. Yet as she saw nothing but the man and her bro still talking, she looked back into the depths of the crystal she was holding, trying her best to concentrate, completely unaware of the fact that the remaining crystals on the table were starting to vibrate.

Pathetic

"Huh, yes I understand what I got to do...but it is so hard..." She could feel it gnawing at the back of her mind, a feeling she could not describe quite clearly, but still. The more she concentrated on the crystal, the more she lost focus, the more the crystals on the table started to tremble, even the metal slab itself started to creak and vibrate, no doubt catching the Chancellor's attention in the process. "It's so..."

"It's so...hard"

"So..."

"Hard to..."

"Focus..."

Suddenly Mir slumped to the ground, but before she fell completely, before she actually touched the ground, her knees held on, her spin straightened up, her neck snapping foward, while an eerie chuckle could be heard. In an instant, the crystal in the girl's hand turned a deep, crimson red...the same color as the eyes hidden behind the long strands of black hair. "Pathetic..."

It started with a glance over his shoulder, but slowly it became more than that, his attention shifting slowly away from Credius and fully to Mir. When he had first heard the crystals shaking the man dismissed it as an effect from his Master’s expression of the Force, or even his own, at least he tried too, but this was no longer possible when he fully laid eyes on the table. His concentration turned completely towards the young girl, speaking to her in a calming voice hoping that her only problem at the moment was the one that he suspected she might have in the first place with the task, ”Mir… is there something wrong my dear? Just do your best… don’t push yourself too hard.”

Charles realized to his horror that the worst case scenario was coming to pass… the more that the crystal’s began to vibrate, the metal slab of the table began to creak and groan… these were not the kinds of feats that his darling Mir was capable of with such ease. As Mir’s doctor he recognized the stress in her voice, the fading away of one person, and the emergence of another. Not just from simple psychical tells, but a major change in the way Force flowed around the girl, a bigger ripple in the pond was the best way he could describe it. The Sith’s eyes had gone wide with alarm, that he was quick to suppress given the conversation with his Master he had just burned into his heart, at the sight of Mir starting to slump to the ground. What he couldn’t suppress was that note of parental fear in his voice as he moved to save the girl, ”Mir are you… daring just hang on...”

Credius’s presence in the room held no more relevance to Charles who was in the midst of a 180 degree turn. It was not meant in disrespect by any means… the Chancellor had assigned him to care of the girl… he was doing that not only as her doctor, but also as her guardian. Swiftly he turned, kneeling down to wrap his arms around Mir in mid-fall, but stopped dead in his tracks as his dark black eyes stared into Rhor’s crimson orbs. The aura Charles gave off now towards the girl was something… different… nothing like the affection he gave to the little girl that had been speaking before. The Sith didn’t hesitate, one would almost think he was dealing with one of his test subjects, extending one hand out to the side an injection half full of a clear liquid flew out of his robe. In a single movement he stabbed at the girl’s neck, but stopped inch’s from the skin, the needle snapped in two. Charles sighed in annoyance, reaching out he placed hand gently on the top of Rhor’s head… looking her in the eye,

”Rhor don’t make me give this medication to you the hard way because you know I will pin you down and force feed it to you.” His voice was extremely cold, especially considering who he was talking to, but oh ho ho… Rhor would know better. The whole thing was an act. Charles babied her just as much as Mir, only he placated her sick desires that were much like his own. It was his attempt to show Credius this was under his complete control like the Chancellor had advised him too. Given how much had been taken off the Sith’s face, when it came to the usual way of reading body language, it was hard to read him at glance without knowing what to look for, but the male was sure his Master knew.

This didn’t mean he never used the medication on Rhor… how else had he been the one to create it to have the exact effect he wanted on the girl. To calm the alternate personality down, but at the same time leave it lucid enough that he could have a conversation with her and learn about what made her tick. It was also how he went about learning the things that Rhor wanted, and it was during these times that the doctor did a few small experiments to try and see what stimulate brought Rhor to the surface. It was while Charles was focused completely on the little girl and the sudden change that she had undergone, another voice gently echoed itself through the room, but only the Chancellor would hear it,

”Adorable thing isn’t she, annoying, irritating, but adorable in her own way. Wrapping the foolish boy around her finger so easily just with a smile… I wish I had thought of that years ago. The child won with a soft touch in months what I couldn’t steal through force all these years, but I digress. Oh how finally meeting you Credius feels like talking to myself in a mirror, though you seem to be doing really good for yourself. Yes at some point you figured it out didn’t you? Interesting… most interesting...” It came from a hologram that was slowly blinking in and out as revealed itself flowing from over Charles shoulder. Its wispy shape didn’t give out much detail yet, except a feminine form wrapped in a hooded cloak that blew to the side. While she did become clearer over time, she didn’t get much bigger… not yet… it did stop blinking... and not only that, but it looked as though there was some sort of connection to the younger Sith as well. Was it drawing from him? If so he didn’t seem to show any knowledge, or it was a presence he become used to… and was immune to any overt influence by it...

Now this, this was interesting, just as he was calmly educating his comrade and student Charles Castex Charles Castex on how their relationship as master and apprentice worked, it seemed like something was going on outside of both their reach. When the kyber crystals collected on the cold metal slab of a table started to tremble, some of them even shattering due to the untrained and uncontrolled strength and strain upon the force, the former sith lord turned his head, the doctor already jumping the gun by trying to catch the child mid fall. However, it seemed like the child had not dropped downat all, but had been overwhelmed by something or rather someone within themselves.

Credius could hear the child's voice, he could hear Charles' attempt at negotiating with her as the man almost within the very time it took Credius to blink, had conjured up a syringe, no doubt holding a very potent tranquilizer or sedative to subdue this...other self of the girl which had been announced as Mir. Yet as the tall man was trying to talk into the strange occurance of the child's 'other self', a whisper called out to Credius, a whisper laced with venom, with the stench and the corruption only present with those who were consumed by the darkness of the Force, those who had seen the Truth.

Slowly the Chancellor looked up, the room was veiled in shadows, blanketed as it were by the presence of this... being that should not be present to begin with. Even still, the man remained calm as the presence revealed itself, clinging to Charles like a ghost in the most literal sense of the word. Though perhaps this may have been meant as some form of intimidation or to at the very least intimidate the Chancellor, it was practically obvious that this presence had no clue that the man she was talking to had already interacted with those who had fallen on many an occassion, carrying the weight of their souls, their resentment and their pitiable desires upon his chest for over three decades now.

"The child carries my Will, woman...my power is what gives her purpose, what drives her and compells her, it is my will alone that guides her and completes her," Tilting his head slightly, the Chancellor looked at his surroundings, the room beyond the veil of the mental plane, the fog of lies and the darkness of the force unable to shroud nor cloud his vision, as his eyes burned with fervor and power. Yes, he could see the child, he could see the presence of his own will within her, untamed and undirected, but certainly beyond any doubt it was his will which had manifested within her through his mutation. "You seem to think so highly of yourself...but you are but a spec of dust, a relic of the past when I gaze upon your form, woman. Do not compare the likes of you to one such as myself."

The room in which the trio resided, started to grow cold, a chill rising from within the Chancellor and envelopping the room in its entirety, the kyber crystals which had been trembling and had started to bleed due to Rhor's influence now turned black and shattered to dust, one after the other, rhyme started to form upon the metallic structures within the room and within the mental plane, Credius' form was being swallowed whole by a massive, overwhelming shadow, with ony his eyes burning like a beacon upon the ghost. "You have no power here...not when you are within my presence, you pitiable woman. Buti Kaire, Wo Kuris Uud Nie Valia Gal Nenx Inoruti Nun"

”Will… talking to anyone else I might have said such a word is only an illusion within the bounds of the ZU, but I digress. Am I to assume what we are watching is your will? Mir wrapping Charles around her pinky like a daughter with a doting father was your will too? Hmmm I wonder if maybe in this case my dear Credius it might be you who are suffering from an illusion of the power of your will… oh yes it drives the boy because he fears you will harm her, but her actions… well I would like to say they only half way reflect you.” The spirit’s voice dripped with changing notes of amusement and impishness, as her words poked at the Chancellor of the Left’s ideal with a teasing dance of her own delight. Her head tilted slightly as she watched Credius anger grow, a large twisted smile spreading over her features… the entire time Charles seemed so obvious to the entire exchange his on focus was on Rhor and his desire to prove to his Master he was in control of the girl,

”You are a strange one to call a reflection of yourself a speck of dust, maybe your vision isn’t as clear as I thought. Credius you spend so much time projecting your will on the present to change your future… you can’t even see the image when it stares at you… like the future you struggle to prevent.” As she spoke her image grew clearer and clearer… eventually taking the shape of an old Chiss women, or what was left of one. The strange thing was that the spirit seemed to be feeding off Charles even more now like a parasite to make itself appear to Credius so clearly. Her skin almost falling off her bone as one of the spirits eyes hung from her head. She gently pushed it back in, ”I may be a relic of the past, but you have forgotten that studying the past can help us not to repeat future mistakes. Ah had the process worked the boy’s body would have been mine and I wouldn’t have to think about this silly hunger anymore and the desire to drain every memory and piece of knowledge from others until their life… oh but I said too much.”

Chuckling ominously her bony finger pointed at Credius, even as the darkness began to raise up around the Chancellor, ”At least I live only in a purgatory Credius… your suffering will be real if you fail, and then you will know death. The same one that comes with lingering painful hunger… and you may have the power to send me away. Remember though, I am always here… always watching Credius… watching as your struggle to fill the void. There is a part of me that you can never banish…the part that is always with you.” With a chilling laugh the female spirit slipped away disappearing back into the holocron, and it with it the threatening energy of his Master hit Charles like a wave. The man reacted on instinct, not coming off the floor, but simply spinning in place and keeping a crouched position. Reaching behind he pulled Rhor close to his form to shield her the other’s sight,

”Master look I can explain… just give me a moment to control Rhor she is not what she seems. I made a specially designed medication to sedate her so I can still talk to her. Just please give me a moment to force feed her the liquid and I will tell you everything…” The thing was Charles didn’t instantly turn around, and in fact one of his hands was tucked into robe, and the arm attached… a crimson stream began to form. The Sith was holding onto his large scalpel with a white knuckle grip, he was holding himself back from doing anything foolish, but only barely. Hesitating for even a second could get one killed and in this case Charles was the image of a small tiny animal protecting its young. Yet Credius may have been the cat, but even a cornered mouse would bite the cat if it had to… especially in defense of one’s young. If anything it showed one thing about Charles… he had been the right man chosen to protect Mir…

As for the appearance of the Sith Spirit it was like it had never happened at all for Charles… or did he simply not remember selective pieces of what was going on in the room. To be honest he had never seen the spirit in the holocron appear to anyone else, but himself… it was undeniable that she had drained something from the male. Over all though it didn’t seem to have a negative on his abilities, but then again this would be the first time in a long time that Credius had seen the holocron Charles owned as well. He normally kept it locked away safe and rarely took it out in front of anyone except Credius…

Reflection of a Monster
Her hair stood on edge, the ground cracking under her feet, as the accumulated pressure of her strength within the force was laid bare. Her eyes glowed with a sinister red color, a chuckle escaping her lips while Charles Castex Charles Castex seemingly sought to intervene. As his hand gently touched the top of her head followed by the perceived veiled threat, Rhor's eyes seemedto pulsate, the veins within the white of her eyes thickening and stretching. "Don't...you...dare," She was still holding the crystal from before, raising it slowly to show it to the sith apprentice. "You know she needs me, but does she truly need you?"

The child clenched her fist around the kyber crystal and reached out to Charles with her other hand, seemingly trying to do something, yet suddenly, she was stuck, her eyes looking at something beyond the one who was trying to calm her down, they were widened in shock, as she could feel the permeated darkness from behind the doctor, as the true power within the room was looking straight at her...

The spirit did not seem to understand or feel anything when confronted with Credius' malice, seemingly shrugging off his threats and immense pressure within the world of their own, the space in which only spirits and the dead communicated, a space in which he was already standing with one foot. The Chancellor knew that in a sense, this spirit was not lying, after all...was his entire survival not dependant on more and more people, more lifeforce, more experiments, the ritual, everything was becoming both a necessity and a liability to his very own survival.. He continued to listen, projecting his anger and hatred towards the spirit with great intensity. "Thinking I'll end up like you is truly the foundation of your mistake, vile woman," The Chancellor let out a sigh as the world around them seemed to crack and converge back with reality itself. "What you perceive as an illusion, me grasping at straws...is in reality already the past. This body will not last much longer, but I have already found my salvation and I WILL transcend beyond humanity and into the realm of gods. You just continue wallowing in the despair of your failures, while I attain a power you would've never even dare to dream of."

As his mind snapped back to reality, Credius could feel the chill of Mir's other personality, vaguely hearing Charles' words. Moving his hand, he used the force to completely hold Rhor still and in place, glaring at her as she looked at him standing behind the doctor. "You can't even control a pitiful little child, my apprentice?" 2A chuckle escaped the man's lips, as he used his connection to the force to further constrict the child, a smile appearing on his face. "Remember what I warned you about...keep her under control or I'll exert my own will upon this specimen, Charles."

Threats, a typical modus operandi of Rhor that he had observed in the past, the secondary personality used them liberally to get her way. Charles fingers curled through the girls hair as a sigh passed his lips, head tilting to the side, ”Rhor… darling… you know I treat you fairly, but this is not the time to be so petulant. I know you don’t like your medication, but if you humor me on this I will see what I can do about arranging some entertainment for you?” It had been awhile since he provided a subject to torture for their shared sadistic tendencies. It was never easy to arrange displays for Mir’s divergent personality if only because he had to arrange them secretly and there was always the timing issue involved. His contemplation on the issue was shattered, as he looked at Rhor… if there was one thing it was almost impossible to do… it was to hurt him on an emotional level. Grief yes, but to throw a verbal barb and expecting it to stick… only the child was capable of doing it, ”Rhor… why do you say such hurtful things to me. We both know that isn't true, and even you need me more than your willing to admit. Just as much as I need the two of you."

His voice reflected the pain in his heart… oh she was good… she knew just what buttons to push. If it had been just them alone it would have taken many steps for her to get his mind off giving her the medication. Unfortunately they were in the presence of a being whose cold and manipulative nature eclipsed hers not just in matters of personality, but in sheer power as well. As he held the girl pulled to his back and faced his Master, the scalpel cutting deep into his finger made for a proper distraction to erase any emotional pain from Rhor’s words. True such minor pain hardly registered with Charles, but it was enough to allow him to focus on the real problem. The spirt in his holocron had angered his Master, and his own personal method of controlling Rhor didn’t please the man either. He could feel Credius reaching out with the Force to restrain and constrict the girl, and for a moment his own instinct to protect her flared up. His hair starting to raise up, muscles tensing, eyes staring dead into those of the other man as the floor cracked under his feet, but then as quickly as it began… everything stopped…

”Master…” Charles words were spoken with that monotone coldness that he normally reserved for the lab. His muscles relaxed, everything about him seemed less on edge, as he knew that if he was to get Mir out of here in one piece… it was best to take a different approach. What Credius had said before, it was starting to click, if he wanted to protect the girl he would need to use strength, but also control… and there was one type of control he knew better than anything… matters of science. Standing up he made sure Rhor was fully behind him, pulling his hand from his cloak as it feel to his side, the blood staining the white flowers on his cloak red… the doctor held out the injection in his open palm,

”When I introduced her before I introduced you to what I have discovered is the dominate personality, at least that is my hope as her doctor. What you see now is a separate and completely divergent personality named Rhor. In the months preceding her first emergence I used various methods of psychological treatment, mainly center around gentler talk therapy methods like you witnessed. My main goals were two fold, the first was I didn’t want to traumatize or damage Mir and by proxy ruin a successful subject. The second was to buy time to create this. A special formula which only I know how to make, given what I felt might be the implication if it could affect other C o C subjects despite my attempts to tailor it to work with this child.” He paused for moment realizing that he was droning on, but Charles knew that his Master did need the full report of what they were dealing with,

”So with this she can be kept lucid, but it sedates her mental ability to concentrate just enough that it is harder to use the Force. It is the ‘method of control’. Like I said before I do normally try to reason with her on the matter, but as you have requested I will medicate her the hard way. So please let me be the one to handle the matter from here as her doctor… and then I will explain the matter of… the holocron.” Bowing softly Charles could feel his heart break at what he knew he had to do, his solace on the matter was that it was Rhor… and Mir would not remember it. Turning back around he kneeled back down, shaking his head as he snaked his arm around the girl to pull her near as he readied the syringe, ”Rhor I am sorry, but this is for your own good and safety… I will do what I can to make it quick…” He didn’t give her much time to think as he suddenly pushed her to the ground, restraining her with the Force, as he grabbed her cheeks to keep her mouth open, and within a moment he had quickly squirted the liquid inside… and only pulling back once he was sure that the girl had swallowed it. Putting the empty syringe away he looked her worriedly, ”Are you ok…? I am sorry I had to do that, but you didn’t give me much choice in the matter.”
