The Fool

SPECIAL FEATURES
- Made of lightsaber resistant materials
- Specialized vibro-generators
- Anti-Tràkata measures
- Pleasing Aesthetic design
- Both weapons are extremely light and nimble - capable of going toe-to-toe with a lightsaber in a competent duelist's hands, or deftly jabbing the weak points in some hulking brute's armor.
- Both sidesword and dagger are very sharp, capable of slicing or thrusting through thick clothing, light or medium armor, thin plasteel, etc.
- All metal components are very durable and lightsaber resistant, being composed primarily of phrik and (in the case of the guards) minute traces of beskar.
- Specialized vibrogenerators produce a unique electromagnetic field around the weapon (roughly ten centimeters) which prevents lightsabers from deactivating or changing length in that area and thus prevents much tràkata trickery.
- Weapons produce a notable hum when the energy generators are active, making sneak attacks tricky unless deactivated.
- Neither weapon can deflect blaster bolts - though unlikely to be damaged by the blast, bolts simply detonate on contact as usual.
- Weapons are vulnerable to EMP detonation - generators take roughly thirty seconds after a blast to reactivate, and during that time the weapons lose some of their cutting efficacy and their saber-locking capacities.
Anomalous Antiquities cannot guarantee the exact providence of this piece (though the design resembles many pre-Republic Corellian designs), but it can guarantee one thing: whoever designed it had a bone to pick with the Jedi, the Sith, or both.
In most aspects, Compelling Argument and Pointed Rebuttal are a typical matched pair - a vibro-rapier (though louder and more cut-oriented than most) and vibro-dagger, designed to be operated together and used primarily for dueling. They are made of lightsaber resistant materials, though in many antique pieces this is often a status symbol as opposed to a practical consideration. But make no mistake; these are weapons designed for use specifically against the Force Sensitive, and the proof is in the internals. Both weapons have specially modified vibro-generators which, when active, produce electromagnetic fields which interfere with the operation of lightsabers. More specifically, these weapons (and the electromagnetic waves they produce) interfere with a lighttsaber's containment field, causing feedback issues in the offending weapon and preventing the blade from deactivating or changing length while too close or in contact.
