GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Commonwealth Signal Corps
  • Classification: Military / Intelligence / Cultural Defense
  • Affiliation: Imperial Commonwealth of Dosuun
  • Organization Symbol: A stylized transmission tower or antenna wrapped in a laurel, often crossed with a sword or lightning bolt to signify both communication and combat readiness. Colors typically include white and navy blue.
  • Description: The Commonwealth Signal Corps is a specialized branch of the Commonwealth’s military and intelligence apparatus, formed in response to the Sith Order’s incursion into Ryoone. More than just a communications unit, the Corps is charged with maintaining secure communications across Commonwealth territories, combating Sith cultural infiltration, dismantling Sith towers, and disrupting Sith proselytization efforts. Its agents are a blend of signal intelligence experts, field operatives, and cultural defense specialists.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Kalirne, Dosuun * [Sub forthcoming]
  • Domain: The Signal Corps operates throughout all Commonwealth-controlled territories, but maintains a prominent presence in the Crown Sector and the Zola Sectors (any sector bordering foreign space), where Sith infiltration has been most concentrated. The Corps often coordinates with local planetary governments to root out Sith cells and establish secure communication networks. Relations with local populations are generally positive due to their protective and defensive role, but in some areas, their presence is viewed with caution due to their counter-insurgency operations.
  • Notable Assets:
    • Kalirne Command Spire (headquarters and operations center)
    • Mobile Signal Disruption Arrays (specialized jamming and anti-propaganda platforms)
    • Training Facilities on various worlds.
    • Encryption Labs on various worlds.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy:
    • High Signal Commander: Oversees the entire Corps and reports directly to the Commonwealth Divan and the Grand Vizier.
    • Sector Signal Captains: Manage regional operations and coordinate with local governments.
    • Signal Officers: Lead field operations, coordinate anti-Sith missions, and oversee encryption.
    • Field Operatives: Specialize in infiltration, counter-propaganda, tower demolition, and cultural defense.
    • Signal Technicians: Maintain communication networks and monitor encrypted transmissions.
  • Membership: Recruitment is based on technical aptitude, psychological resilience, and ideological alignment with the Commonwealth’s anti-Sith policies. New recruits undergo rigorous training in encryption, cultural defense, and field operations, followed by a probationary period under a senior Signal Officer. OOCly, just speak with me.
  • Climate: The Corps maintains a strict, disciplined atmosphere focused on loyalty, vigilance, and adaptability. Despite its paramilitary structure, members often share a strong sense of camaraderie, driven by the urgency of defending the Commonwealth from Sith cultural infiltration. Morale is generally high, though extended deployments and constant readiness contribute to stress among field operatives.
  • Reputation: Seen by most Commonwealth citizens as guardians of stability and protectors of culture, especially on worlds threatened by Sith infiltration. However, some view them as heavy-handed or intrusive, particularly in regions with a history of Sith occupation where local populations may resent surveillance.
  • Curios: Members wear a small silver or white laurel pin with an antenna or sword motif, signifying their commitment to defending the Commonwealth’s communications and cultural integrity. Some field operatives also carry encrypted data rods containing critical mission protocols.
  • Rules:
    • Absolute loyalty to the Commonwealth and its anti-Sith mandate.
    • Protection of civilian communication networks and cultural institutions.
    • Neutralization of Sith towers and proselytizing cells.
    • Maintenance of secure communication lines.
    • Adherence to the Signal State Mandate: "No message unguarded, no tower left to stand."
  • Goals:
    • Eliminate Sith towers and cultural infiltration across Commonwealth space.
    • Maintain secure, reliable communication networks for civilian and military use.
    • Train local forces in counter-propaganda and cultural defense.
    • Evolve encryption technologies to stay ahead of Sith infiltration attempts.
    • Support broader Commonwealth objectives of self-sufficiency and cultural resilience.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Commonwealth Signal Corps was founded in 902 ABY, during the early days of the Signal State Era, following the Sith Order’s incursion into Ryoone. The loss of local control and the rapid spread of Sith proselytization efforts underscored the need for a specialized force dedicated to both secure communications and cultural defense. The Senate, working with the Ministry of State, authorized the formation of the Signal Corps through the Signal State Reforms Act, granting them a unique mandate to combat Sith influence and maintain secure communication lines across Commonwealth space.

From their headquarters on Ryoone, the Corps launched a series of counter-offensives against Sith towers, dismantling their networks and restoring confidence among local populations. Over time, the Corps became synonymous with the Commonwealth’s commitment to both technological resilience and ideological purity, ensuring that no Sith message went unchallenged and no Sith tower stood unopposed.
