Government:
The government of the Commonwealth of Worlds consists of elected officials from every member world under the banner of the commonwealth. This council of elected officials dictate law and policy throughout member worlds while also coordinating the resources needed to push back the Bryn'adul. The Council is also tasked with the expanding of Commonwealth space, and opening diplomatic relations with any world falling within Commonwealth territories. These planets are not official members until they request to be so and are instead called affiliated worlds. These worlds are expected to pay tax if they seek Commonwealth protection but are not bound by Commonwealth law which can be strict and demanding of its populace as it feeds the machine of war.

General Vibe:
The Commonwealth is slightly more authoritarian than the other 'good guy' factions out there, but this is born out of necessity due to the need for mass production of resources and the need to hold order in the face of a looming catastrophe. I want the story of the Commonwealth to be that of worlds banding together to fend of a mutual threat, feeling that the larger factions in the galaxy are too preoccupied with each other or other fronts with the Bryn to bother protecting these worlds. After all, the Bryn are basically Vong 2.0 in my book, big scary monsters coming to slaughter the rest of the galaxy and I feel like this faction could really drive that home. I should state that I have nothing against the Bryn, in fact I think they're an amazing faction especially since they're unique to these forums. But I think that the Commonwealth is the natural outcome of the Bryn. Push too many people too far and they're bound to bite back.

I haven't made a character for the faction yet as I really wanted to see how many people like the idea of this kind of 'Emergency Get-Together to Stop Our Doom' faction before I committed to it. I'd love for it to go major, especially if I get enough interest. But even if I do get enough interest I'd like to do a few threads to establish a concrete foundation for the faction and what writers are most interested in seeing it go forward. As much as I dream that this will get loads of attention and will shoot to major status instantly I know that's not reasonable, and even if it was I'd want to be sure things were set up and we didn't just get taken down next month from inactivity. Anyway, even if two people are interested in this it'll be enough to make me happy. If you have any questions feel free to drop them below!
