"I see them, control. Engaging now".

Ronhar's personal starfighter roared to life as it chased down the target drones released by the MIN Fool's Errand. Resembling TIE Fighters with rectangular wings, the target drones zipped and zoomed through the floating debris fields surrounding Mahporeem as they desperately attempted to avoid Ronhar's Y-Fender starfighter. Unfortunately, their efforts proved rather futile as Ronhar easily destroyed them in a hail of laser fire, expertly dodging the bits of debris leftover from the many space battles of Mahporeem's past. Within mere minutes, all 24 of the target drones had been blown to pieces, every single one of them being destroyed by Ronhar alone.

It was an impressive performance, to be sure, but not one that would have come naturally to Ronhar. Prior to his accident, Ronhar had been a rather poor pilot, showing no aptitude for flying any sort of starcraft. After his accident and the installation of his neural implants however, Ronhar had suddenly become an ace pilot overnight, capable of executing advanced maneuvers and destroying scores of enemy fighters with ease. His assignment to a Y-Fender "Ugly" starfighter certainly had something to do with this, as the Y-Fender was a rather impressive starfighter in its own right, but could not fully account for his transformation into an elite pilot.

No, it was really the neural implants that were providing Ronhar with the skills he needed to be a pilot. Ronhar still wasn't sure what exactly they had implanted into his skull, as every doctor that had operated on him was remaining tight lipped and records into his surgery still remained classified, no matter how hard Ronhar looked. But, whatever it was, it certainly worked, even with the unpleasant side effects that Ronhar was experiencing.

Side effects that were only getting worse, he though to himself. He was surprised that his IFF hadn't malfunctioned during the exercise as it usually did, mistaking enemy droids as friendly forces. Ronhar could override the automatic IFF as needed, but it was getting rather annoying every time it happened. What was even more annoying was the fact that his technicians could not find any sort of malfunction in the neural implants, no matter how many times they looked at him. Ronhar was starting to get worried that his continued insistence on the matter would get him flagged for psychological review, and that was something he was hoping to avoid at all costs. After all, with Mahporeem's entry into the Imperial Confederation, he would only be getting busier in the next couple of weeks, and that was something that Ronhar refused to miss.

As Ronhar mopped up the last few remaining target drones, the Fool's Errand hailed him on his comlink.

"Impressive, Captain Tane. I think you just broke the company record".

"Hmph", Ronhar responded. "Couldn't have been much of a record if it were that easy to break".

"Is that right, Captain? You know, I could always release the weapons lock on the auto-fighters next time. Just to keep things interesting, of course", the Fool's Errand responded rather dryly.

Before Ronhar could retort, he was cut off by his ship's long range scanners. Another starship had just exited hyperspace near his and the Fool's Errand's position, and was rapidly approaching their current location. Ronhar did not recognize the ship, though it appeared to be Imperial affiliated.

"Hold that though, control. Have you picked up on our uninvitied guest?"

"Affirmative, Captain. Move to intercept at once. Look's like you might get that challenge after all, eh?"

"I doubt it, control. Tane out".

Ronhar immediately made a beeline toward the unidentified vessels as the Fool's Errand launched a squadron of Z-Ceptors to support him. The Fool's Errand itself began to turn, positioning its bow toward the unidentified vessel so that it could bring all of its weapons to bear at a moments notice. Finally, the captain of the Fool's Errand began broadcasting on open comms:

"This is the MIN Fool's Errand. You are trespassing into Mahporeem owned space. State your business, shut down your engines, and prepared to be boarded".

The Class-546 refit of the Arquitens Command Cruiser lurched as it entered real space once more. Being dropped out of hyperspace never seemed to get easier for Tutter. Braced against the console overlooking the pilots pit, Tutter could hear the various crew members chattering about systems and statuses. The vessels commander, a young Lieutenant appeared beside Tutter.

"Sir, we are at the coordinates provided for the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant. All systems are green, pilots are standing by." With that brief the commander and Tutter shared a nod. "Good, glad we made it here in one piece." Tutter offered, in a mostly calm tone, still being slightly on edge being out in space. A place he found himself less and less frequently as of late. But now was not the time for fear. He needed to remind himself of that, as he was about to enter an even smaller craft than his current.

Making his way to the small turbolift, Tutter would appear in the hangar bay, and proceed to the flight deck. Finding an assembled team of pilots, their ships in storage behind them, two rows on either side of the modified interior. All various models of the TIE Fighter family, all in various states of "original" with some having parts from the factory, and others the junkyards - anything to keep these fighters running.

Before Tutter could even reach the assembly of pilots and give the brief he had prepared. The overhead ship's wide comm came to life. "Now hear this, now hear this. All pilots to your craft, all hands to stations." The familiar voice of the Arquitens commander rang out, the lighting on the cruiser shifting from the dull white to a dim red as the words flowed through the speakers. 2 TIE/IN Interceptors, 4 TIE Fighters, 1 TIE Outland, 1 TIE Advanced v1, and 2 ITTs made up the compliment, hanging in their launch racks. The communications feed from the Arquitens bridge now being patched through to Tutter and the pilots. Hearing the call for identification and the order to power down. Clearing his throat before transmitting.

"MIN Fool's Errand, this is the Blue Mynock - we're looking for a port in the storm-" Tutter paused briefly, adding some panic to his voice "-desperately short on Repair Kits. We lost a few ships boats in the debris fields on our last visit, and we have two vessels currently stranded awaiting recovery."

None of what he just said was true, other than that this ship was currently flagged as the Blue Mynock, an imperial mining freighter with a flight plan for Mahopreem. But this would all become obvious once the individuals coming to board the vessel had been able to make visual contact. The Arquitens would power down it's sublight engines, and Tutter would be awaiting the boarding party on the flight deck. Flanked by the ships cadre of pilots and a few security personnel.

"Eyes sharp. We've got incoming".

Ronhar broadcasted his warning to the rest of squad mates as a number of TIE variants emerged from the Arquitens-class Command Cruiser, seemingly ready to engage the Mahporeem forces in naval combat. It was a rather motley collection of TIE models, even by Mahporeem standards: a pair of TIE Interceptors, four standard TIE fighters, a TIE Outland and even a TIE Advanced v1. They seemed to be escorting a pair of Imperial Troop Transports, though as to why Ronhar was unsure. His best guess was that these Imperials, whoever they were, were so short on dedicated fighter craft that they were pressing the ITTs into the fighter role, something that they were ill-suited for. That, or these Imperials were attempting to board the Fool's Errand, though Ronhar thought this unlikely. Even withouts its fighter escort, the Fool's Errand boasted a complement of 114 Storm Commandos, making any boarding actions unlikely to succeed. In any event, the two sides circled each other rather wearily, neither committing to firing the first shot.

Ronhard radio'd the Fool's Errand for further clarification.

"Command, this is Captain Tane. Do we have permission to engage, over?"

A warbled reply came back through Ronhar's comlink.

"Negative, weapons are off, repeat, weapons are off. Maintain current vectors and await further instructions. Reinforcements are T-minus two minutes, over".

Ronhar looked down at the Imperial ship through his transparisteel viewport. It had obeyed the Fool's Errand's instructions and had powered down its engines. Clearly, if it were looking to run or fight, it would have most likely done so by now. Whatever had brought the ship to Mahporeem space couldn't have been good.

Suddenly, a friendly Vilifier-class Star Destroyer dropped out of hyperspace, mere kilometers away from Ronhar's position. Ronhar could see a number of TIE Boarding Craft being launched from the vessel, all of them making a beeline for the now disabled Imperial ship. They all managed to make their way to the ship without incident, despite the presence of the opposing fighters. Attaching themselves to the vessel's airlocks, the TIE Boarding Craft remained attached to the Arquitens for quite some time, presumably making their way through the vessel as they searched it from top to bottom. Eventually, the boarding craft detached themselves from the Arquitens and headed back to the Vilifier.

Ronhar's comlink crackled to life once more:

"Captain Tane, you and your squadron will escort the Blue Mynock back to Corrox. The Preserver will remain on site for "asset recovery". Coordinates are being sent to your navicomputer. Command, out".

"Blue Mynock, eh?", Captain Tane though to himself. It was certainly an interesting name for a ship. Clearly, the boarding party hadn't found anything on board that would contradict their reason for being here. That, or the boarding party had found something interesting enough for them to warrant bringing the ship planetside. After all, Ronhar knew that a Vilifier-class Star Destroyer wouldn't be staying behind for a task as simple "asset recovery". No, it was there to serve as advanced warning should any other ships attempt to follow them back to Mahporeem.

Ronhar acknowledged in the affirmative as he and his squadron brought up an escort formation around the Blue Mynock. All the ships, save the Viliier-class Star Destroyer, began heading back toward Mahporeem, where they could safely land and do whatever it was that needed to be done.

After a short ride, Mahporeem came clearly into view, and within a few more minutes, all the ships had landed safely inside Corrox...
