Strengths:
  • Very low, diffused metal content makes it look like a lump of inert matter on magnetic sensors (without defensive package)
  • Sails leave no drive emissions and create no glow
  • Fuel-efficient
  • Organic construction maximizes potential for the ship to be personally attuned to a Force-sensitive owner
  • Extremely low to zero vulnerability to slicing and ion/EMP weapons
  • Slightly more gorgeous than [member="Danger Arceneau"]
Weaknesses:
  • Slow hyperdrive
  • Sails, though included within shields, are far more vulnerable than normal engines once the shields are down
  • Lightly armed, especially in anti-capital situations, or totally unarmed
  • Significant modifications would require an upgraded power plant

Description: Like the ancient warship Fairwind, the Colo is an amphibious starship and airship modeled after a pre-technological sailboat. Though effective in its way, it is primarily a curio, a luxury vessel that hearkens back to a bygone age. Many elements are deliberately anachronistic. Brath Qellan biotechnology, procured from a world very close to Mandalorian space, also plays a significant role, though the Qellan hyperdrive is quite slow.

Of course, the vessel's unique characteristics also mean that, if someone were to put in the work to figure out an appropriate, comprehensive, non-metallic stealth setup, the Colo wouldn't need thrust trace dampers or be vulnerable to magnetic scans. Just a thought. That would, however, take serious effort and expense on someone else's part. The stock Colo has no stealth capabilities apart from silent running.

As much of the vessel is organic in origin and archaic in design, Dathomiri Witches have found it comfortable and natural beyond your average starship. Likewise, many elite customers who prefer their homes to starships have found the spacious and well-appointed interior to be unusually relaxing.

Very nice concept. I like the wasp hulk idea.

Speed and maneuverability for a ship this size would normally be around a 9
With it being limited production, slow hyperdrive, low armament, and no hanger to speak of, make the speed and maneuvering 7 and its good to go. Or you could make speed 6 and maneuvering 8 and this would also be good.

Sorry but this can not be used as development for this. The Character submitting the ship has to be a part of the development thread. If you want to use the thread as development, Alec Rekali will have to submit it.

Speed and maneuverability to 6 and 8. As for the dev thread rule, that was changed. Currently posted version:


  • The development thread must include the account that is submitting the item into the factory and/or there needs to be a logical exchange between the submitter and the development thread character. (same company, family, transaction, something along those lines)

IN that case you may drop the speed maneuvering to 7 if you like. Normally for Maneuvering something that big at that speed I would have asked for for 20 posts but the 17 you have are good with the weaknesses the ship has.

Make the maneuvering 7 and its good to go
