With a few pressed buttons Abyss activated the energy field of the device around his neck, shielding him of from the deadly lack of pressure and oxygen of space, just in case. He gave her a quick look over his shoulder to make sure she was doing the same. His left hand moved in the air after typing into the console besides the airlock they would traverse through, holding three fingers up to count down from.

"On three. Two. One. Here goes nothing."

With a hiss the airlock opened, revealing the inside of the ship. The lighting had switched to the backup energy as it seemed, only a few red lamps glowing in the darkness to mark the way trough the ship. The artificial gravity was still active so Abyss assumed that all systems were running on back up, including life support. With a small noise the energy field around his body disappeared and the young acolyte took a deep breath of the filtered oxygen from the ships systems.

"Life support still active."

His crimson red lightsaber blade appeared above its hilt, illuminating the cold durasteel corridor in almost the same color than the emergency lights. Abyss took his first steps in the inside of ship, observing his surroundings as closely as possible, both physically and with the force. The docking area was deserted, only the few personal items littered on the floor and on the desk in besides the airlock told the story of those who once resided on the ship. It seemed that whoever was here had left in a rush, if trough the airlock or deeper inside the ship he couldn't say. Or at least not yet. His hand moved in the air again giving her a silent signal to secure that exits like he learned in his military training. He stopped the motion in the middle of it, awkwardly moving his hand back down. She very probably was never in the military and had no idea what he was trying to say.

"Secure the exits, I will see if I can get a glimpse of what happend here."

Everything about this ship seemed like a part of a dark premonition, and Abyss knew how dangerous it could be so far outside of the known galaxy. Pirates? No the damage would be less subtle. His hands moved over the trash littered on the floor, looking for something that seemed like it had personal worth to whoever it once belonged to. A small golden ring, almost so small that Abyss would have overlooked it. As his skin touched the metal he extended his mind, focusing on the force. Psychometry was the art of looking into the past, of listening to the echos that it left behind on something like this ring. Suddenly his eyes widened. The echo wasn't verx clear as he had not yet reached mastery of the art, but still he could feel something dark. Whatever came here to attack the ship was far from human. He turned to the woman.

"Stay alert. It seems that the ship fell victim to one of the numerous terrors of space. I can not say if they are still inside."

Lilith may have been inexperienced but that didn't mean she was unintelligent. She'd followed suit, putting the mask to her face and giving the man a smile as he looked back. She watched in excitement as Abyss counted down, soon they'd be on board! She could hear the hiss of the hydraulics as they engaged, the airlock doors sliding open with a grating noise atop the hiss. This ship hadn't been occupied for a long time... or possibly even visited. Beyond the gaping maw of the ship's airlock Lilith could see light, dim and red in hue but it was light. It looked like emergency lighting, the dim illumination barely enough to see by.

"Well, isn't this just the definition of gloomy?" she spoke quietly.

Hey eyes saw something metallic glint as the man retrieved something from his belt. It took only a second to identify it as a Sith's weapon as the blade ignited, bathing everything around them in the darkness a slight shade of red. She reached up, removing the breathing device. After taking a deep breath of air Lilith scrunched up her face. Stale. The air may have been cycling but it certainly seemed as if the air had been stagnant a long time. Stuffing the device into her satchel, she moved forward, following Abyss closely.

So this was one of the Sith. She'd learned about them briefly while visiting the Jedi Academy on Sullust. The Jedi seemed to thing they were unpredictable and corrupt, the very embodiment of evil, or so they'd said. Lilith had never met one before, but Abyss didn't seem out to hurt her, and he didn't seem so chaotic as some of the Sith she'd read about. Did she feel uncomfortable? A little bit, but nothing the couldn't overlook, at least for now. As they stepped into what appeared to be the hangar, Abyyss had motioned... she wasn't quite sure what that meant. Thankfully, he spoke a few seconds later.

Awkwardly she drew the blaster the man had handed her, pointing it at the ground in front of her feet. With the blaster held tightly, she made her way towards one of the blast doors leading into the hangar. Fumbling in her satchel with her other hand she withdrew the flaslight, engaging the beam and pointing it at the set of blast doors.

That was strange. The doors were sealed. Not just closed, sealed. As if someone had welded them shut with... a torch. In fact, she saw a discarded torch lying on the ground next to the control panel. How strange. Lilith turned, nodding at the man's last statement.

"I found this..." She said, motioning towards the sealed corridor and discarded welding torch. "What do you make of it? Whoever sealed this corridor must have really wanted to keep people out... or in. Why would you seal a door but leave the torch right beside..."

Her eyes had drifted, and that is what had given her an answer. Curled up in the nearby corner was the skeleton of a human, tattered rags the only thing left on the skeletal frame. She took a deep breath, calming herself as she pointed to it.

"Apparently... this one didn't make it.." She let her words drift off, wondering what had killed the man, even after sealing the corridor.

Abyss walked towards the old, dead bones that someone had left on the ground. Unfazed by the fact that there was basically a dead person in front of him, he kneeled down, his hands wandering over the alabaster white pieces of human remains.

"Interesting."

Was all that left his mouth as his focus locked onto the skeleton, once again listening to the echos that had been left behind. Another glimpse, by no way clear or understandable, barley offering any new information. Only that not one but several creature had been responsible for what had happen here. He slowly rose to his feet, inspecting the rest of the area around them. For some reason there were no open signs for a fight, no inhuman claws or feet that had left signs on the interior. Like the creatures that attacked the ship had been nothing more than ghosts.

It was almost possible to watch form the outside as his mind was working, piecing together the information they had gathered. Not to many thing had the power needed to do something like this and even less could have done it with leaving almost no trace.

"I ... I think I know what has happend here. Starweird."

The starweird were a rather obscure but also rather dangerous phenomenon of the depths of space. Many researchers had argued that these strange, semi sentient humanoid beings had been formed out of the dark side in its purest form. Able to disappear into nothingness and only coming into being when a ship was close, and gifted with a terrifying telepathic scream that was described as very painful to hear. Also known for their unexplained hate for any being sensitive to the force, no matter if darksider or lightsider. Only once he had the pleasure of meeting a few of them, and he only survived by pure luck.

"Forget the blaster, these ... things are immune to almost anything besides the force and heavy weapons. I know you are untrained, but I need you need to have trust in the force if any of them is still here. Allow it to guide your actions, follow your instincts not your mind. I will open the door."

With a push the crimson red blade moved into the sealed door, slowly being dragged through the metal. It would take some time to fully cut the door open, so she could mentally prepare herself for what would might come.
