Description: Its original maker and owner, Coleman Trebor, was a contemporary of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi on Geonosis. He was a member of the ground Geonosis Strike Team dispatched to extract Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Padmé. As he attempted to engage Count Dooku in his box, Jango Fett instead fought him, killing Coleman. When Coleman fell to his death, his lightsaber remained hidden in the sand, since the damage inflicted by the Republic to the arena was extensive and cleaning up the stadium was a rather low-priority task for the centuries that followed and Geonosians, being almost entirely unable to use the Force, had no use for a lightsaber and hence left it there to withstand the damage of time.

Jessica came to Geonosis to undertake her initial Force-training and, after a while, detected the presence of an ancient lightsaber, belonging to a former Jedi Councillor. She inspected and cleaned the lightsaber, revealing that the lightsaber was filthy with sand and all of its components accumulated dirt over the centuries, but she found it otherwise rather "vanilla" compared to the other lightsabers she knew about: nothing that enhanced her power or her skills could be found in it. Nevertheless, like many lightsabers from that era and later, it had a bifurcating cyclical ignition pulse to allow underwater operation, especially considering that its original owner was from an aquatic species.

[member="Jamie Pyne"] I find the lack of internal Factory consistency disturbing. One day (or under one FJ) canon lightsabers with hilts that long weigh 4 kg and the next FJ/day, they weigh about 1/3 as much. Same as with ships' cargo capacity.

Is 1.4 kg any better?

I look at it this way:
  1. A lightsaber hanging from your hip weighing almost 12 pounds all day is A. Uncomfortable and B. Impractical for someone typically in robes. If you want to test this, strap two 5lb weights to one side of your hip and walk around for like an hour. Then imagine doing that all day. Every day.
  2. Whirling and twirling a 12 lb piece of metal would be about the equivalent weight of two bricks. Given the size of a lightsaber, the fact that it is really a hollowed out piece of metal with internal wires, crystal shard, and such, and is relatively small, I don't believe it's a practical assumption to weigh it at 5kg.
I would argue those two points to anyone who claims otherwise.

1.4kg is fine. Approved pending secondary.
