APPEARANCE

He bears a fair resemblance to his father at this age, yet distinct nothoiin features leave any similarity just shy of identical. Close cropped hair is often slick with sweat and engine grease. Cole seems to exist in a perpetual state of scruffy looking. His simple attire is smeared in grime and reeks of exhaust fumes. Everything except for his distinctive swoop jacket which marks the young near-human as a Dark Star Hellion. Just another freelancer plying the outer reaches, at first glance he seems more or less unremarkable.

But appearances can be deceiving. Underneath the sordid exterior there are subtle clues hinting at Cole's true nature. A disruptor pistol on his hip appears in good working condition flanked by a nasty looking vibroshiv. The rest of his belt is covered in multitools and other high tech gadgetry. A modded holopad is often mounted to the Warden's forearm. With these scattered accoutrements he seems every bit the undercity warlord.

And then of course there is the fierce glint in his eyes. Despite all outward impressions something about this spacer's presence screams authority. His voice takes command of any room that he is in. On his bike he seems to tower over others in a fury of chrome and gunmetal. Cole speaks and others listen. Is he an agent? A crime lord? An undercover Jedi Master? Worse, he's a Merrill.

BIOGRAPHY

Cole's birth was a fluke of the galaxy, a modern cliche brought to life. He was created in a lab by the enemies of Jorus Merrill Jorus Merrill in the hope that he could be indoctrinated and his bloodline turned once more towards dark purpose. Samples of the famed Jedi wanderer's DNA were blended with those of a cogennan nothoiin in the hopes of refining his instinct for navigation to even more dizzying heights. In this respect as well as most others Cole was deemed a failure by the House Zambrano scientists who studied him throughout his accelerated adolescence.

When it became clear he could do nothing supernatural with a hyperdrive the project was abandoned. All of the researchers were executed and Cole was shipped off to the spice mines of Kessel where any evidence of the Sith's misdeeds was sure to be eradicated by an endless tide of disposable laborers. He grew up as a slave in the most hellish conditions imaginable, but managed to survive long enough for his peculiar talent with machines to emerge.

Before he was fully grown Cole broke out of the spice mines and escaped Kessel as a stowaway on a bulk freight hauler. Eventually he was discovered by the crew and forced into more indentured labor until he finally escaped once more and disappeared on Lonesome. With no other option but to live on the street, he freighter hopped all the way to Terminus where he eventually fell in with the Dark Star Hellions swoop gang. For the first time Cole was given an opportunity to distinguish himself and he quickly rose in both status and power.

By this time his 'father' Jorus had sensed his presence and sought the young clone out. Fearing that the rogue master would destroy him, Cole fell back on his earliest training and lashed out. After a short duel Jorus incapacitated him and finally managed to convince his son that he didn't mean any harm. Offering whatever support Cole was willing to accept, the two parted on uncertain but somewhat reconciled terms.

The spirit mechanic was reluctant at first to take Jorus up on any potential chance at a higher purpose, but then years passed and the legend that was his father passed out of galactic affairs. Sensing a growing darkness beginning to creep in even on the fringes of civilization Cole was at last motivated to seek out one of his father's proteges Runi Verin Runi Verin and begin training to become a Warden of the Sky.
