WORKSHOP INFORMATION
  • Workshop Name: Cogmind
  • Location: Delilah's Hope.
  • Specialty: Outlaw Tech & Computing.
  • Tier: 5
DESCRIPTION
Cogmind is the main name Daro Tarsi uses when operating on the HoloNet or when patenting new designs in the Core Worlds. Its main designs get produced and manufactured by local affiliated companies in the Core Worlds, while the rest gets made on Delilah's Hope itself, where Tarsi maintains an elaborate manufacturing deck with most necessities taken care of. Anything that Tarsi doesn't want to sell off or can't make himself gets sub-contracted through a shell corporation within the Corporate Sector. That last bit sounds more exciting than it really is- shell corporations are all the trend within CorSec right now and even a monkey could set one up, if they get in touch with a morally-bankrupt lawyer or two.

Outside of designing and production of illegal after-market modifications Cogmind also busies itself with the creation of illicit data programs, computer spikes and other outlawed hardware that assist the ill-meaning slicer in their business.

More often than not Daro uses Cogmind as his own personal resource point, but when he is strapped for cash and there isn't anything nearby to rob and the jobs aren't lining up? He has been known to sell some of his software on one of the many dark net nodes of the HoloNet.

RATIONALE
Daro Tarsi started up Cogmind decades ago and kept it in relative obscurity. It was first set up as a knowledge-base on the HoloNet for security consultation and similar pursuits, but as the years passed it shifted from consultation towards organization. Whenever a bank loses some (or all of) its funds there might be a Cogmind callsign branded in some of its subroutines. When a government needs to crack an illicit criminal organization.... well, usually that criminal organization requests Cogmind to help them reinforce their systems, if we are being completely honest.

The main operations of Cogmind run from Delilah's Hope, a very advanced elite freighter that is outfitted with the latest gear and equipment that can assist a slicer/engineer (really an outlaw tech, but Daro takes issue with that phrasing) with their daily jobs. The funding that keeps the ship running mostly comes from the job Daro pulls and similar sources.
