Private Closing Time

It had been one of those nights; the rowdy sort, where the patrons that flocked into The Dive were by no means the respectable sort who knew how to treat the girls who worked within the walls of the establishment. No, it had been some sort of bachelor party, a last hoorah that seemed to give the drunken party the gall to be grade a jackassess to anything that came near them - especially if it was someone scantily clad.

Luckily, the girls who had worked in this place long enough had a routine for such things. No girl went towards such a gathering alone, and there was always a bouncer nearby. Unfortunately, they had, had to fire a girl tonight - a new girl! - for being just a bit too friendly with these patrons. That had put a strain on the rotation and it had caused the night to just drag by. But, they all got through it, and they all got a small bonus for it to boot.

Now it was cleanup, and like most of the other girls, Lyra hadn't even changed out of her floor attire to start breaking things down and cleaning them up. It had been a long night, and she just wanted to get it all done and over with. Then she would change, go home, and just fall right into bed without giving the night another thought.

It had been a while, but coming here was always returning to a good memory, so it was only natural that every time Jace came to see or pick up Lyra, he came bearing gifts of different kinds, and while he no longer had access to certain things to do his departure from his last job, he made sure to still bring her something nice.

With stealth, he snuck in an hour to so before closing, watching quietly, mostly keeping an eye on the party of rowdy irritants harassing the women. On more than one occasion, he used his abilities to toy with the goons, from making it appear their own friends were spilling their drinks, to the odd force choke, he found a sick delight in messing with them. When the closing time approached, he just let out a small chuckle as he watched the fools leave, and continued his own drink, waiting to surprise Lyra at the end of her shift.

Finally, as it winded down, and she passed by he just grinned, "Well hey there beautiful, fancy seeing you here."

It had been a while since the sound of that voice had graced Lyra's ears. She had merely been doing routine things, helping wipe down tables, put up chairs, the works, so when she passed a table that had an occupant in it and he spoke out to her, the redhead had to double back. She half shifted so that she was sort of facing him, and a brow was loft at first.

However as soon as recognition pierced through her tired haze, that genuine smile that only he ever was ever warranted lit up Lyra's face. "Hey yourself, stranger." she nearly crooned out at him in response. "I see you snuck in under the radar..." That fact caused her to squint at him just a tad. "How long have you been here..?"

Depending on his answer, it would explain a few things for sure.

He grinned even more and her smile and words, but at the question, he just gave a smug little grin and shrugged "Long enough to watch some fools look even more foolish, not long enough to have done anything... regrettable.", his comment would probably be met with an eye roll, but it was worth it coming from Lyra. So, of course, Jace just kept on grinning widely, almost like a teenager who got caught and didn't care, "Should I wander outside and wait for you to finish here? I know it's closing time, so I don't mind." he didn't like to bother her much at work, mostly for her sake, and to not get her into trouble with her manager.

"Mhm...I thought so. Some things through the night make a lot more sense now." she voiced the earlier thought aloud and shook her head at him ever so slightly. When he questioned about whether or not he should head outside, Lyra took a look around, made a face, then shook her head. "No, there's no reason for that, in fact,"

With a sigh, she took a seat next to him, and leaned heavily against the table, one arm lifting so that she could put her elbow against the table and lean her head against her fist. "So, aside from the obvious...what brought you here, hm?"

"Oh?" he raised a brow in question "is it not closing time?" Jace posed the question, as he was a little surprised he wasn't being asked or escorted out.

At her other comment, he just grinned as he took a sip of his drink, eyeing her for a moment, "Oh you know, wanted a drink, wanted to see a beautiful woman..." his grin was too mischievous even for his own good, "I missed you, obviously. But I showed up to early to be stealing your attention. Didn't want you getting in trouble for spending all your time on one patron." his words were sincere, he knew she'd recognize that as he watched her face, just taking in all the little details that made her so stunning to look at.

"It is closing time, yes. But there's no way in hell that the boss is going to send you anywhere, not with the hours that I've been putting in lately just to stay busy." she winked at him, then couldn't help but smile at the rest of his response to her.

"I've missed you too," she assured him, and reached a hand out so that she could touch his face. Her fingers splayed against his cheek and she made a content sound at the contact. She had most definitely missed him. "And I would have most definitely spent all of my night on one patron. Eagerly at that." she informed him, smirking ever so slightly at him.

"Well far be it for me to deny the lady what she wants." Jace smiled, turning his head just slightly and kissing the palm of Lyra's hand. "I'll also keep that in mind for next time..." he murmured against her skin, his eyes still on her's, getting lost in their depths, it had felt like forever and a day since he had last seen her.

After a moment, he reached over and ran a finger against her jaw, still lost in the depths of her eyes, and just thinking of what he'd do with her if given the chance at this moment. "Just say when you're ready to go, I've got my speeder parked out front and all the time in the galaxy for days to come." he grinned playfully, his eyes finally moving over her form, taking in everything like this was the first time he'd seen her, "Did you do something with your hair?"

Enough time apart had made Lyra forget just how easily connected she and Jace were. It certainly felt like they had been apart forever - and truth be told, it had definitely been a while - but things always picked right back up so easily it was insane. A natural connection between them that even time and distance couldn't seem to mess up.

When he reached out to touch her face, she leaned into the light gesture, but when he spoke up she righted her head and smiled. "Yes, I didn't attempt to straighten it." she mused, then leaned in closer to him. She closed nearly every bit of distance between them, though did not kiss him. Instead, she lingered only close enough so that her words were a tease against his lips. "Almost done, then we can go." she assured him, then slipped away before he could retaliate.

She got back to it, making sure to finish up her portion of nightly tasks so that she could leave for the night. Once that was accomplished, she made a beckoning gesture to Jace with her fingers, then waited for him to catch up before heading into the back and to her dressing room so that she could change into more mundane clothing.

"It looks good." he grinned at her, then when she got close, the desire to kiss her was almost painful, but she moved away just as quickly. Lyra was definitely a tease, which was probably one of Jace's favorite things about her, but he sat back and waited while she did her thing, stealing glances at her when possible.

At the beckoning finger wiggle, he grinned, stood up from his seat and wandered over towards her with a bit of a swagger, but still behaved himself in a nice relaxed manner, they had the rest of the night to do whatever they pleased, and he looked forward to every moment with her.

She had stood there, waiting for him to catch up to her, but once he did? Lyra couldn't help the smile that lifted both corners of her mouth and reached all the way to her eyes. She enjoyed Jace's company far too much for either of their own good - at least when they were in public. All matter of thoughts would start running rampant if she wasn't careful, so rather than dawdle she went through the door and held it open long enough for him to slip through, and then she led the way to her dressing room.

"I'll change real quick, and the we can get the hell out of here." she flashed him a grin over her shoulder, opened another door and stepped through, leaving the door open for him. She had gone right through the room and slipped behind a partisan so that she could gather her street clothes and get out of her working ones. "You're not planning to run off any time soon, are you?" she questioned, though was still out of sight for the moment.

He smiled back at her, while some would probably assume it was the clothes that had him doing that, it was actually just her. Sure the provocative attire accentuated everything about Lyra, but the woman herself was what had captivated him in so many ways, so when she mentioned changing so they could go, he had no argument.

Finding a seat, he waited, but at her question, even if she couldn't see him, he shook his head, "Nope, no plans to go anywhere for a while. I made sure to pass on that I'm not to be contacted or disturbed for a week or so, important business and all that, you know?" she could probably hear the grin on his face in the way he talked.
