Private Closing the Corridor | GA High Command

THE SECOND GREAT HYPERSPACE WAR | ACT III
CORUSCANT | COMMAND CENTRE

The Galactic Alliance defended Metellos, managing to drive out the attempts of scavenging cultists, the desperate power of The Brotherhood was evident. With Darth Mori pushing resources to the core, The Brotherhood is clearly hurting themselves beyond capacity to maintain the effort of holding the Core Worlds. The opportunity to The Galactic Alliance is clear, and patience can no longer be afforded. Preparations are initiated within The Starbird’s influence. Resources are gathered, plans are made, and the countdown begins.

Strategists of The Galactic Alliance convene to assess the information collected on The Corridor since it was lost to The Brotherhood of The Maw. What must be done is apparent — The Core must be cut off from The Brotherhood of The Maw — but how is open to consideration.

Covert missions, relief runs, countless hours spent deciphering the Sith Wayfinder — hours and lives all lead up to this lynchpin moment and decision. Finally, the route to Exegol was made clear — and, if they played their cards correctly, within their grasp.

The advantageous were gathered together in a room, circular and spartan, seated around a projection of maps and routes that the Defense Force's navigators and strategists had collected together for High Command to review. High Command and members of the New Jedi Order's council. Congeniality saw the need the overseers of the mutual organizations to unite and make this decision in tandem. After all, the outcome and its inevitable strain would be a shared responsibility.

“We have established reinforcement camps and listening outposts sparingly, all the way up to Selvaris.” M pointed to the locations she had agents stationed alongside members of the New Jedi Order’s agricorps and Defence Force. She was seated with her back to the window, facing the door.

“Reworking our way up through the Corridor is resource consuming, and reports indicate it’s taking a toll on morale." General Ridor inserted, with a heavy frown. Even though she was calling in remotely, en route back from one of the campaigns up the Corridor, her blue holo-shape communicated the dark expression well enough to those in the room.

"But, effective for drawing The Maw’s attention. As desired. Our time to strike is now. Where, is up to discussion.”

The first part of the meeting was spent mostly in quiet contemplation. Much like the others, she studied the maps that were presented to them and tried to reach a conclusion. The Corridor had been their target since the beginning, but tactically, it would be to their advantage to shift their military focus elsewhere, and use the corridor as a distraction instead.

"Well, we have a few options," Valery began after a moment.

"As long as the Maw continues to believe that the Corridor is our target, we can strike anywhere along the border with far less resistance. The closest planets to launch a strike from are Copero, Adrathorpe, or Jedha." She looked up at the others gathered around the projections.

"For our decision, we have a few things to take into account. First, the status of their defenses along each section of their border. We ideally strike where they are weakest But it's also important to consider which of our planets can sustain our fleets and armies the best in preparation for the attack."

"Ever since the Kyber Temple fell," Master San Tekka's brow creased, "Its guardians have only grown more radical. Oathbreakers gather hosts of misguided and dispossessed citizens on Jedha to assail the Maw's border. Few return."

At last recovered from wounds sustained during a classified operation in the Unknown Regions, the veteran council member once more donned his traditional Jedi armor. Tythonian steel gleamed with new polish, yet there were cracks in several places where near mortal wounds had marred the cuirass beyond repair.

"With our attention on the Corridor, more and more of these raids are slipping through. Mustering on Jedha could squander the very element of surprise we seek."

He resisted the old impulse to levy strategic commands. Their war against the Sith had been long and bloody. Old battlegrounds were littered with enough fallen Jedi that every sword mattered. In his darkest moments Zark wondered how much would remain of their order if the Alliance reached Exegol.

Amani was not a military commander, a tactician. Nor had she ever claimed to be. But as a member of the New Jedi Order Council, it was her duty to be involved, and provide what counsel she could. Whatever they decided on, it would affect all those she represented. So she listened, and listened carefully, to her more experienced allies on the intricacies of war-planning.

Her hands were clasped together in front of her face, obscuring her mouth and leaving only a pensive stare visible. Comments from Masters Noble and San Tekka seemed to spur a response from the healer, who finally lowered her hands, "What about Copero, then? It is, or at least has been in the past, home to a major shipyard, right? It'll likely have the best fleet accommodations we'll be able to find on the border."

Any decision they made was likely going to suffer a bit more nuance than that. But on the surface, it made the most logical sense to her as a starting point.

"Whichever target we fall on, the Maw will manage to reinforce it." Wyse said calmly in response. "Their chaotic structure means they don't rely on coordinated logistics the way we do, it means they can react fluidly to any situation." That was the crux of the issue. If an Imperial was an anvil, just waiting to be shattered with a hammer, the Maw was more like a filthy sewage pipe.

The moment they launched an attack, they would quickly draw forces (militia and more professional shapes) from the adjacent planets. They didn't worry about crime elements on their planets. Nor corporate overreach.

It meant they could commit everything at a moment's notice.

"But Copero is a good launching pad. The mega-corporation, Iron Crown Enterprises, has been operating many of those shipyards for decades. Ever since the One Sith days. It means that a steady coming and going of ships won't be novel." He shrugged after a moment. "Iron Crown won't like it, but we can invoke national security. Halt their production line for the next several months and take over traffic. If we do it carefully, we can begin slipping in our strike force and the Maw spies won't even notice."

This was an optimistic read. Wyse was aware of that too, but these days they could all use some hope. It was also backed up by stats.

"Director, you mentioned Selvaris." Addressing M directly now. "Can your assets pave way for a deep-insertion strike on Selvaris?" Bringing the subject back to what the Supreme Commander had mentioned earlier.

"If we can get the Maw to commit on one battlefield... we will severely degrade their ability to muster reinforcements for our true target."

If they hit Selvaris in a serious fashion it would play into the belief the Maw was already having. The Alliance's focus on the Corridor had already created the perception they meant to take it back. If they confirmed that perception? The Maw would have no choice but to redirect their forces. It would leave several star systems, Shihon and Oyokal included, far more sensitive to navy action.

Try as she might not to, M had her weaknesses. Csilla's destruction had been a blight on the galaxy, and the mere mention of anything to do with the Chiss Ascendency always evoked a reaction one way or another. In this room, when the two Jedi mentioned Copero, it was a shiver. A subtle tremour, but a physical reaction nonetheless.

Iron Crown had been something Senator Tagge secured to the Alliance years ago, and the mention of it being a method of covert asset movement was an untapped ingenuity. Save for the compensation they might expect — no doubt a spending bill or senate vote in the making. But the senate could deal with that, the motions of bank accounts and the transfer of funds from one location to the other, schmoozing with corperos, while real motions were made.

Made in..The Corridor.

Ruby eyes blinked once, and immediately saw the connections.

"Yes," She answered without hesitation.
"We already have lightly manned stations within The Corridor that we have active communication with. They can be activated and coordinated with when necessary.

And both Recee and Chaldea can be launch points to reach Selvaris."

After sharing her thoughts, Valery quietly listened to the others and dipped her head when Amani proposed Copero as their new target. It would make for the shortest path to Exegol, and while that'd normally be the most obvious target, all of their efforts in the corridor provided them with the distraction they needed to make it work.

But it still wasn't enough.

Wyse pointed out the Maw's ability to swiftly respond and adjust, and Valery could only agree. She had taken charge of several raids into the corridor, from Batorine to targeting listening posts recently, and each time, the Maw responded alarmingly fast. So when Wyse proposed the idea of an insertion on Selvaris to draw away enemg forces, Valery grinned a little and turnes to M.

"I'll coordinate the Jedi to commit to Selvaris as well. Every major move we've made included them standing with our troops, so it's vital they are there for a convincing distraction," she said. "It does mean that we'll have little to no Jedi support on Copero, but I believe that won't be an issue if we've lured away the bulk of their forces."

"The GADF can handle Copero."

That was the giant general's cue to grin wickedly. The blue replica of herself projected into Coruscant did a masterful job of capturing the knowing smirk that brazenly lifted her cheeks.

"Little, but never none Master Noble." With her arms folded across her broad chest, the likeness of General Ridor's silhouette flickered once. "If we are committing to the two-pronged approach we seem to be alluding to, myself and my Padawan at least will be a part of the charge launched form Corpero.

The fleet will need someone to drop on the ground and secure the area. Nova Corps is more than capable."
