Clockwork: Bastion

The errie moments of no power and that errie message... Viera got reports of both as back up power kicked up everywhere. She was on board her Flagship, she had to act fast. Defense platforms cover anyone escaping but don't be afraid to fire on anyone who fires or acts agressively. She cursed... Get as many people as you can out... We will house as many as we can on our ship! " It was chaos, reports were flying in about millions of droids attacking the planet... it was a slaughter ... She had promised them protection and this was all she could offer? She couldn't do anything... but send out ships to combat the enemy on the planet and recieve shuttles, It aggravated her so. " Get me Dragon's maw" She said with a yell, she was pacing. Begin an evaucation to our fleets, we will become as moblie as we can until we can set down somewhere safe. She was glad for once that her ship was so large. she just hoped that the other two planets were doing as well.

It was hell on Bastion, Droids were killing people by the hundreds, StormTroopers were trying to save who they could as shuttles departed and landed, filling to capacitiy and leaving. It seemed Munnulist was their new home. The back up power finally kicked up, and the defense turrets that were manned, began to shoot but it was a losing battle thousands lost their lives in valour efforts showing the spirit of the Empire. A planet wide comm went out. "Please find the nearest ship and proceed to munnulist. This is not a drill, This is an emergency and we are pulling an planet wide evauation "

Viera cringed hoping the Imperial knights and some others would report..

Alexander emptied his rifle into the oncoming droids, puffing happily away on his cigar as the last of his team got on board the shuttles. Tossing the rifle to the ground, he ran an all out sprint as the vehicle began to rise into the sky, barely making it to the landing ramp as they took off. "Not bad for an old man," He wheezed ruefully as the rest of the Maw laughed with him.

He hadn't planned on using the stolen warheads just yet but they needed to delay the pursuit if the civilians and his team were to make it to safety. Nodding to his second in command, they dropped the warhead behind them as they broke through the atmosphere, then triggered the explosives as the enemy passed through.

A low yield nuclear atmospheric explosion generated a localized EMP blast wave and destroyed all pursuing droids.....at least for the moment. Heading for the coordinates for the fleet, he just hoped it wasn't in vain......

Scruffy Lookin’ Nerfherder
Seth spun his glaive in an arc, desperately attempting to fend off the denizens that swarmed over Bastion. They had come out of nowhere, a black metallic swarm. The holonet was done. Electricity was down. Everything was offline. Bastion had been plunged into darkness. From that darkness rose the screams of the dying as the soulless droids slaughtered all who resisted their "ascension." Shorn stood shoulder to shoulder with a cadre of Royal Guards. Their red armor flashed bright, making them appear faster and deadlier than they truly were. Though they were swift. And they were dangerous. Their force pikes and glaives shredded droids left and right, but they continued to reform. Some sort of bladed machines had attacked the left flank of the guards and collapsed it. When Shorn glanced in their direction he could not tell whether the scraps of red littering the ground were Guard cloaks or... something worse.

"Fall back! Fall back to the transports!" Seth roared above the chaos of battle. The unending tide of machines surged over the Royal Guards. The steadfast soldiers, elite of the Remnant, were pulled to the ground left and right to be shredded by the droids. Composite beams tore through armor and left smoking holes in men and women Seth called brothers and sisters. They died all around him. In droves. It was a massacre.

Seth rammed his glaive through the single photoreceptor of a seraph, bringing the vibroblade out the other side of the droid's head. Blood drenched his legs from where clawed machines had torn into his flesh in an effort to bring him to the ground. Smoke rose from the blaster wound in his side. Shorn's armor was dented and scorched, blackened by blaster-char. The Guards retreated in an orderly fashion, locking themselves inside the transport where a great many civilians were gathered. All the survivors Seth had been able to find.

"We need to get to Muunilist!" a Guard said.

"I know. Are there any more survivors out there?"

"None we could find, sir. We've done enough. We have to regroup at the new forward operating base. The capital has been overrun. We'll proceed with the armada from there to Muunilist."

Seth nodded. His breathing was labored. He adjusted his breasplate, wincing. "Alright, pull us out."

It was a hard call, viera had packed all the ships of the defense fleet as full as she could get them but people stopped coming.... She knew it was a sign.. a sign that well She didn't want to think of that, she loved her planet.. but she had to give it up.. It was ok though She would live to see another day and that was important. " Fleet, we are officially giving up on the planet Bastion, Many Men and women died today and it is in their honor that we fight this... menace to the best of our ability, I know its hard to leave but no one has come back up in the last hour, I think its safe to say that we have lost all, I shall send back a ship to watch the planet and help guide surviors. " She turned and spoke to her commanders I want Munnulist locked down, no one in or out without permisssion from myself. " She hoped that Seth was using his new star destroyer to the best of his ability, She hoped it was as full with civilians as her vessel was. She gave the planet one last look before giving the order to warp. She hated leaving her planet and people but she knew the likely hood of any of them surviving was slim. They needed to recouperate. It was the begging of a long day as deep scans of everyone for signs of the new infection and such were made on everyone that left each ship. They would not let their next planet fall to it as well. Viera ordered the Holonet to be deactived and activated their own transcievers. Imperial Space was dark... The usual patrols weren't made, and Bastion was a pit of death and destruction... She gave the order... the defense platforms began firing and purging the planet... what signals could get through Omni's signals sent for all warheads and muntions to explode as well as anything else the imperials could blow. They would not let the robots leave. It was a dark day on Bastion and its once great cities, were burned from above, If they couldn't have it no one could. She would show Omni what she thought of his robots... Maybe in years.. they could rebuild the planet.. but for now it was gone.

Missiles and other projectiles came raining down on the planet, Building blew up in dazzling displays, Droids were hit with everything that use to protect the planet of Bastion. When it was done there would be nothing but rubble, as even nuclear warheads were used against the planet, The people alive, would at least not face the death of being asimulated by the horrible droids of Omni. Viera had decided it was best adopt this policy... there was no use letting them build up their strength in Imperial space. She cringed... as she saw reports of her various bases going off line, knowing the very planet was being rained down upon by fiery explosions. If she had a superaxal cannon she would of used that.. but alas all it meant was time. Soon The planet would be silent... devoid of life, monitors actively scanning for any moment as after hours, the planet was at 'peace' again. Now it was time to ensure that nothing moved or lived. She would not let the horrible creatures who had killed her planet and forced her to abandon her planet live. She would eventually send for her crews guarding the planet from itself now.. but she didn't dare let anyone near it...

Zhaf Passik

Body Guard of the Grand Admiral
Zhaf could still smell the scent of ozone in the air as weapons cooled across the ship. He knew and had some relations with people who were still stuck at Bastion. Their fate was horrible, but it could have been worse. He had only just made it back to the ship form Bastion before the missiles had rained down. He thanked whatever god was looking down on him. Smoothing his clothes, he ran through the ship to find the Moff. These droids could attack anywhere, and he had to be there for her.

He slowed to a walk as he neared her and kept his left hand on his sidearm. "Ma'am, excuse my lack of professionalism, but what happened with those kriffing droids? It was a slaughter out there!"
