Cleaning house (The Shadow Empire.)

Location: Mytus VII
Unit: Shadow Marines 1st BN
Objective: Remove pirate stronghold.

It was night time on Mytus VII and TK was standing guard at the end of the trench. With him the Shadow Marines finest Battalion and before the arrayed forces, a veritable fortress. It had been a while since security concerns were revisited in council, but one that often came up was pirates. After some scouting and recon patrols they had discovered their source.

Mytus being a dreadful ball of rock was often overlooked, which meant pirates had moved in and set up. Despite numerous attempts by the fleet they had been unable to stop the attacks on their shipping lanes, but now that high command had a target it was all about to end.

The only problem was getting at the fortress. The pirates were clever and had built it on a high plateau with only two ways in and both were trnechlike cuts in the rock that led up to gates and walls. Within was a second layer of wall and the main keep, a mishmosh of random junked spaceships slammed together to make an imposing structure.

TK scanned the edge of the wall with his Binos, taking it all in as he formulated a plan.

Their position was three hundred meters south of the main trench, the other was on the northside.

Finally he put down the binocs and sat down, uncapping a thermos of caf and having a drink while he waited for the others to come back from their scouting missions on the north side.

She walked back through the trench line approaching [member="TK-4261 Strain"], she wore some medium armor that would protect against a couple of hit nothing to fancy on her hip she carried a blaster pistol in her hand a rifle, on her head she wore a comm link that was linked to a comm"phew Lotta walking"she said as she approached him"tell me again why we're here"she asked looking up at the looming fortress above them

Acting Lieutenant CC-420 sat along his Platoon's section of trench with his binoculars scanning along the section of ground between himself and the Pirates Stronghold. From the look of things they were relatively dug in and depending on their gear a huge issue. Doc grimaced as the thought of their last engagement, the one that'd seen him assuming the former Lieutenant's job. His Sergeants were still working on bringing the new members of the Platoon up to speed.

The night was silent and cold. On their left flank sat another Platoon of Infantrymen and on their right the same group of Marines they'd been on deployment with for a while. A wind crept through the bones of everyone along the trench and moved it's way down the line. All that was left was for the Armor to arrive and the Artillery to get into position.

"Hey there!" TK greeted the woman.

Standing up he capped the thermos of caf and slung his A-280 over his back. The wind was picking up and it was getting cold, it was time to get down to Doc's position and draw up a battle plan.

"Come with me, I'll explain as we go, Sgt Riker, you have the platoon."

"Aye sarge."

TK strode down the length of the trench, quickly making his way to the infantry side. Even in the armor the wind was bone chilling and he wished he was back in a warm rack, with a proper meal. It only took him a few minutes to spot Doc. He was a capable dude and TK liked the way he ran the infantry cats.

"Whats the status of of the scouts?" TK asked coming to a halt beside Doc and offering him the thermos of caf.

For a second he stood there, silent and then he remembered he was supposed to brief Saki.

"I almost forgot to fill you in." He said bluntly turning to her.

"Pirates set up a big ol base here and are interupting our shipping lanes. We're here to put a stop to it, and annihilate them."

She shivered and brought her warms to run her shoulders, she regretted not bring a cloak or something "it is fine I'm sure your focused on the mission", " she listened to him brief her"pirates "she said sounding disgusted " never liked them at all so this'll be fun"sgr said with grin on her face as she looked around"I'm assuming you've made a plan yes"she said and smiled

TK removed his helmet to light a cigarette. The breeze caressed his bald head and instantly chilled his ears numbing them. His face was tired, and he had the shortest haircut in the galaxy, which didn't help with the wind.

"Not exactly, still scouting the place out."

He slammed back the remnants of his cup of caf and took a drag releasing the acrid smoke into the wind.

 

[Kaia Brin]

Kaia sat in the trenches hunched over a small fire inside a bean can shivering.

The young girl had her rifle holstered behind her back with her standard mandalorian armor set firmly on her body.

"I better be getting something outta this.." she grumbles to herself

Rubbing her gloves together looking up at the older soldiers nearby some returning glances to her.

Her eyes dart around till they land onto [member="TK-4261 Strain"] .

Something about him was weird.. but he was still cool in Kaia's opinion.

Shrugging to herself her head flows back down to the ground playing with some bugs crawling around in the dirt for little crumbs.

"You are getting paid to do your job soldier, that's enough aint it?"

TK had no patience for upstarts. Granted the girl was not a marine so he had no say over her, but if she was he'd smoke her for the insolence.

"Alright heres the plan, I’m going to have the artillery open up on the main stronghold there. Then the Marines will move in under heavy cover fire. The Army will cover us with heavy weapons, and when we get close we will breach the wall with charges. Once we're in we take out the men on the wall and the Infantry can come up on our rear."

Saki watched as [member="TK-4261 Strain"] chided the young soldier, she nodded in agreement to what strain said "he is right your getting paid and having the honor to fight with us" sge smiled lightly setting down and listened to strain explain the plan to them the plan"sounds like a plan hahahah when do we move

 

[Eliza Downheart]

Eliza hadn't been to this planet in a long time, years in fact. She had heard through the branches that there was something interesting going on here so she thought she would pop in to find out. Her cloak flowed behind as she walked, her hair tied into to low pigtails and makeup covered her scar.
Over in the distance she saw someone who looked like [member="Saki lin"], could it be her? She gave a small nod to see if she got a response.

She saw someone else approaching, she sainted to see the person she got a nod and smiled as she recognized the woman, she walked over to [member="Eliza Downheart"]" ahhh Eliza long time no see perfect weather ain't it"she booked as the wind blew a gust

 

[Eliza Downheart]

"Hello, it has been to long. What's going on here?" She gave [member="Saki lin"] a gracious smile, and hugged her cloak tighter. Things were windy but nice here, or so she thought. She always had different views than most on things like the weather.

She smiked back looking at the fortress above "that's why we're here" sge said pointing up at the looming fortress "the captain has a plan for us to get inside so we can steal it from the pirates" sge said handing her a pair of binoculars "here take a look up there

Eliza looked in the direction of [member="Saki lin"]'s pointing, oh okay. Then she took the binoculars and went speechless for a moment.

"So, this could get pretty rough is what your saying? Would you like some assistance on this mission?"
