GENERAL INFORMATION

Organization Name: Aliit Shysa
Classification: Mandalorian Clan
Loyalties: Itself, the Mandalorian People
Organization Symbol: Please see above.
Description: Aliit Shysa is a ragtag collection of Mandalorians unified by a shared set of values, principles and philosophies. While historically known for its focus on agricultural and law enforcement pursuits, recent decades have seen it slowly become a more militant and active presence within the Galaxy, with more and more of its members adopting a soldier-for-hire lifestyle out of necessity.

GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Headquarters: Roon, (Formerly Bralsin, Mandalore)
Realm: Roon
Domain: Shysa’s arrival on Roon is a fairly recent development, having previously been almost exclusively centred in and around the Mandalore sector for generations. As a result their ‘domain’ over the planet itself is relatively isolated a small section of the Umboo province, with the clan currently working to establish a number of farms, ranches and trading posts within the area. Relations with the local populace are strained, with many resenting what they perceive as an influx of heavily armed mercenaries, although they have gradually begun to improve following the Clan’s commitment to uphold the peace and safeguard the area.
Notable Assets: None at present. Willingly forfeited any they previously owned within the Mandalore sector.

SOCIAL INFORMATION

Hierarchy: Beyond the leadership ranks of Alor (Chief) and Alor’ad (Captain), Shysa only fields two other positions of note within its structure. Those being Verd (Warrior), comprised of the bulk of the Clan’s membership that have passed their verd’goten, and Ruus’alor (Sergeant) who represent the more seasoned and respected members of the clan that lead them.
Membership: Membership is provisionally granted upon birth to all children of the Clan, being later confirmed upon the successful completion of the Verd’goten. Like most Mandalorian clans, Shysa is not adverse to introducing new blood into their ranks via Gai Bal Manda, the traditional Mandalorian adoption ritual. It is notably rare for them to adopt full grown adults, however, preferring to almost exclusively adopt young orphans into their ranks.

Influence: Shysa’s sphere of influence is solely limited to Roon present due to the restructuring and self-imposed exile. Previously held a considerable local presence within the Bralsin region of Mandalore, Vhettiya on Concord Dawn and on the agriworld of Vorpa’ya
Climate: Shysa is a fiercely independent and often outspoken clan. One that is quick to offer the hand of friendship to those that share their values, yet even quicker to harbour a grudge when slighted. Its members often actively try to involve themselves within their local communities, seeking to contribute and foster close ties with their neighbours, and are prone to shouldering responsibilities and seeking out positions that allow them to better do so.
Reputation: Shysa has a solid, yet conservative standing within the Mando’ade. They are known for being stubborn, dogged and downright ronto-headed to the point of exasperation, as well as possessing an unfortunate habit of bluntly speaking their mind regardless of the consequences. This honesty has earnt them a trustworthy reputation nonetheless, as even those amongst many of the clan’s detractors know that Shysa will always seek to stand by its word once it has been given, even when this has been to its own detriment.
Rules: Like most Mandalorians, Clan Shysa are ardent followers of Resol’nare. While not an official rule, the clan also operates a tithing system that members contribute a percentage of their profits towards on a monthly basis. This is technically compulsory, but there is a slight stigma towards those that opt out.
Doctrines: The Resol’nare and Jaster Mereel’s Supercommando Codex are the two central philosophies that guide members of Clan Shysa. How exactly you go about interpreting these guidelines is largely left up to the individual. The clan place the greatest value on its members being true to their word, however, believing that an oath and contract should be upheld regardless of the cost once given. In terms of combat doctrine, the clan specialises in asymmetrical warfare, preferring to adopt unconventional tactics in order to make up for its general lack of numbers.
Goals: Survive, rebuild, prosper. Serve when needed.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Like many clans of old, Shysa was founded during the height of great galactic conflict, being able to trace its roots back to the time of the New Sith Wars. The name Shysa only truly rose to prominence during the waning years of the Old Republic, however, with the rise of Fenn Shysa breathing new life into the clan. A humble man with strong ideals, it is said that Fenn was the power behind the throne during the ill-fated reign of Mand’alor the Resurrector, later assuming the mantle himself when Palpatine’s Galactic Empire claimed dominion over Mandalore.

Knowing that the broken and fractured clans would never survive a head on conflict, it was under his banner that a guerrilla war was waged against the Imperial occupation and slaver forces that sought to exploit both the planet’s resources and its people, allying himself with the Rebel Alliance and later the New Republic to see the empire crumble.

In the decades that followed, Fenn restored stability and life back to the clans, as well as turning many of them to the fold of Jaster’s Supercommando Codex. Ultimately, however, he met his end during on Shogun at the hands of the son of the man he idealized, the title of Mand’alor passing back into Fett hands. Lacking the faith Fenn had in his successor, Clan Shysa turned their attention towards increasing their holdings and only fought a minimal campaign during the Yuuzhan war and beyond. A stance that would see them spread far and wide throughout the Mandalore sector over the next few centuries, yet one that would also rob them of much of their strength as they found themselves too thin to withstand many of the tragedies that have ensued over the course of what would later be known as the Mandalorian Resource Wars.

The loss of its holdings within the Bralsin region of Mandalore was perhaps the heaviest blow in recent memory, with most of the senior leadership of the clan being wiped out in the cataclysm that rocked Mandalore. This forced the mantle of leadership on to the shoulders of Kalad Shysa, who took it upon himself to rebuild and restructure the clan upon Concord Dawn. It was under his rule that Clan Shysa that the clan re-embraced its roots as soldiers-for-hire, with the more traditional agricultural and law enforcement pursuits being replaced by an influx of mercenary contracts.

This trend has only increased as the clan has moved into self-imposed exile following the events of the aptly named Red Coronation, relinquishing its territories within Mandalorian Empire controlled space and adopting a nomadic lifestyle prior to settling on Roon.

While the Clan is officially neutral towards the Empire, its failure to recognize the legitimacy of the current Mand’alor over the coronation debacle has proven to be a source a contention. An issue likely only further exasperated by the Clan’s close association and alliances with Clan Fett and House Vizsla.
