Intent:
A reactor for Blood Hunter's products and open market sale.

Development Thread:
If necessary

Manufacturer:
Blood Hunter's Iron Works

Model:
Clan Heart Ionization Reactor

Affiliation:
Blood Hunter's Iron Works
Open Market

Modularity:
Yes; can be installed in ship or vehicles

Production:
Mass

Material:
Durasteel
Reactor Components

Description:

The Clan Heart reactor functions much like any other Ionization reactor. The internal fusion chambers produce a stream of highly-charged particles that are forced through the reactor's exhaust port, which in turn provides power to the ship or vehicle it is installed in.

The innovative Clan Heart simple distributes that power in a whole new way. The Clan Heart possesses three separate Duel-Ionization chambers. Each of these chambers regulates power to different systems in the ship or vehicle. For example, a typical freighter would have one chamber powering engines, a second powering weapon systems and the third chamber powering the remaining onboard equipment; i.e. navigation, life support, communications, ect.

Of course this is not always the case. When installed in substantially larger craft multiple reactors maybe required to compensate for the larger power requirements. In these events a reactor is often designated to one system, such as the weapons systems.

The reactor has no internal moving parts, making repair and replacement very simple. However, this simplicity can be exploited to disastrous effects. A skilled saboteur can arrange for the massive power output to feed into another Ionization chamber, which, in time will cause the reactor to overload.

STRENGTHS:
-Stabilized Core
-Easy Maintenance
-Well Regulated Power Flow

WEAKNESSES:
-Easy to Sabotage

Would this imply a larger reactor space requirement to make room for this?

Not necessarily. The thought was for a more stable energy distribution. On the wiki it speaks of the separate energizing cells and how throwing even one of them out of sync can overload an engine. My thought was linking them together into groups would keep them synced better.
