Cai gripped on Elayne's hand and shot her a confident little superior smirk. "I do.." he said all the while wondering what exactly he was getting into. He gathered he was a rare case. From what Elayne said to him earlier most of the time ceremonies like this were more of a sale than a proper wedding. Men were slaves, breeding stock if lucky. It was bizarre, but Cai accepted the culture. "I do," he repeated a little more firmly.

The Witch heard him accept and heard him repeat those same two words. Satara nodded. By now, the crowds had gathered around them and were listening. Satara looked at her daughter and again the Echani. "You have both spoken your piece. By your words and by witness and by the witness of all those present here, you are not mated to each other. Her words were all true. By becoming Elayne's mate, he had become family. Another son for Satara. And with all to bare Witness, they would all know. "You have all heard the words, Witches. You have all heard that Cai Sanis of the Singing Mountain Clan belongs now to Elayne Hawk of the Singing Mountain Clan." The group around them merely gave out a single united 'aye'. She nodded again. They had all heard and confirmed it. She turned back to Elayne, approaching her. Her palms carefully caught the girl's cheeks as she kissed each of her temples. "Congratulations, hi'ja. You know what happens now. Only then will this union truly be marked for all times."
