Confederate State Security (CSS), which stands as the central intelligence and security apparatus of the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS). Basically, in a very clickbait-y way, everything. CIS, just like any other factions, exist within an incredibly complex and interconnected galaxy. It is constantly affected by circumstances happening within and outside of its sphere of influence, whether it is local governments, foreign governments, corporations, crime syndicates, powerful individuals, and other factions. Thus the CSS is working to move what is in CIS' sphere of concern to sphere of influence, and from influence to control. This allows for limitless story hooks, including, but not limited to:

- Espionage: everything from spying a simple gala, underworld, corporate & technological espionage, to installation of deep-cover agents, listening posts, and internal assets. And it goes both ways! We can play spy, and we can play counter-intel.
- False flag attacks: want to fabricate IC reasons for war? The CSS might find it beneficial for them to sew regional/galactic conflicts. Or try to frame us as the attacker.
- Scramble for systems: fight a war underneath the naked eyes of the people. Protect or weaponize the local populace, make moves in the shadows.
- Separatism propelling & funding: looking for a separatism story? The CSS can run psy-ops to radicalize the locals and fund armed rebellion.

Good question. In short, I'm looking to propel activity, both within CIS, and the espionage side of Chaos, from the underworld to the boardroom and senate meetings, between individuals and factions, playing out how it affects everything from political stability to the livelihood of the regular people. I'm looking for both CSS characters, and everyone else, politicians, corporatists, criminals, blackmailed and indebted individuals, or just someone caught up in the crossfire, who are interested in running stories, short-term or long-term, with us.
