OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: CIM (Creation Intelligence Mechanism)
  • Designation: non-sentient
  • Homeworld: Syntho-Terra
  • Language: n/a
  • Average Lifespan: 20 years
  • Estimated Population: Planetary
  • Description: The CIMs are the basis for life all over Synth-Terra. They are mass produced machines that will steadily evolve into new more complex machines through an algorithm in their code. Some assume they are droids but they are much more like mechanical animals as they fit all the criteria for life. They're able to maintain their internal environment, grow and develop, process energy, respond to the environment, reproduce, and are capable of evolution.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type 1, converts oxygen to energy that goes immediately to running its base functions, it's mechanical 'internal organs'
  • Average height of adults: .3 meters
  • Average length of adults: .6 meters
  • Skin color: gray
  • Hair color: n/a
  • Distinctions: They are clearly machine in nature, yet act almost identically to a low-level organic. Consuming oxygen to survive, wandering around avoiding bigger more evolved animals, etc.
  • Races: CIM's evolve at a rapid pace, so there are small populations with distinct characteristics and traits.
  • Strengths:

Living Metal: Using a similar process as the Nanogene Spores, CIMs are capable of growth, and self-repair, often starting much smaller when they are 'born' and growing to their full size later on.

Darwin's Best Friend: CIMs evolve, rapidly, new changes occurring every three or four generations.

  • Weaknesses:

Just Plain Pathetic: Just slow, doesn't blend in, no natural way to protect themselves other than pure numbers, CIMs are not suited for any environment

Degrades: A CIM's normal processes are programmed to fade and degrade over time, similarly to aging.

CULTURE
  • Diet: Various Gasses
  • Communication: Clicks
  • Technology level: N/A
  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A
  • General behavior: CIMs just kinda wander around whatever biome they've been placed, straying from predators and living their useless lives until they can reproduce and hope they pass down a new mutation.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

CIMs were the first machines on Syntho-Terra, and are what the entire installation is based around. Every other Snytho-Beast on the planet is a descendant of one of these odd crab like machines. There are millions of them, and have been billions upon billions spanning back who knows how long since the installation was first established. The Great Factories within the walls of Syntho-Terra produce a steady stream of them, introducing a fresh batch into a biome every three months or so.

Read through this a few times and the more I read it the more it reads and feels like; droids. My suggestion would be to get this to the factory, and if you wanna flesh it out more as a species feel free to come back to Codex with these guys!

Awesome, I'll put this in archives for you and like I mentioned if you would like to rework it later feel free to request it to be moved to Pre-Codex by PMing [member="Allyson Locke"].
