- Entechment Powered: Uses power similar to that of the Ssi-ruuk process of Entechment. Living souls ensnared and trapped within a kyber crystal placed at the epicenter of the device power it, creating energy and acting like a battery. Like a battery, life energy can be depleted though ensuring that the Chwûq Tsut needs to be replenished once the power source has been consumed.
- Multiple Settings: A Chwûq Tsut has multiple levels of discharge ranging from a powerful blast meant to kill, moderate blast to wound/stun and a lower setting that can be used for interrogation or torturous purposes; capable of inflicting immense amounts of pain but unable to kill.
- It threads the needle: Like Ssi-ruuk beamer technology blasts from the Chwûq Tsut are capable of bending around the blade of a lightsaber making the traditional weapon of the Jedi unable to deflect them. Similarly this can be counteracted by someone who modifies their lightsaber specifically to deflect the blast from Chwûq Tsut but at the same detriment as being able to do so against a paddle beamer, the lightsaber will then be unable to deflect regular blasterfire.
- Soul Shredding: A Chwûq Tsut does not cause physical harm, it overloads the electrical impulses of the brain and nervous system. Trauma caused by the device is incredibly painful and could be described as feeling as though the edges of ones soul are being frayed and ripped apart. Typically conventional armor designed to protect against blasterfire is ineffective against it.
- Multipurpose: Primarily a weapon a Chwûq Tsut can be set to a low output which essentially allows its use as an interrogation weapon capable on consistent excruciating pain without the capability of causing death. Preferable on occasions when information is more useful than death.
- Limited Range: A Chwûq Tsut is a personal range weapon, effective to within 6 meters. Outside of that range it is effectively useless as its energy dissipates harmlessly.
- Slow to fire: The Chwûq Tsut is slow to fire. It needs to be charged prior to firing a high powered blast which is indicated by the enteched crystal radiating with the building energy prior to its release. Once fired it requires time to charge again dependent on the level of power used meaning even a pistol with trigger action will be able to fire successive shots faster.
- Difficult to Master: Training is required to properly wield a Chwûq Tsut. Typically it is used by Force Weilders however even a Non Force Sensetive is capable of activating the Chwûq Tsut if worn by one. If activated inadvertently and by someone without the proper training the enteched crustal is capable of cracking, rendering it useless or even exploding which often carries dire consequences for the user.
An Ember Spitter, Chwûq Tsut in the Sith language is a device and nominal weapon created by Rhaec'Teth using similar entechment technology to the Ssi-Ruuk mixed with Sith Sorcery. The Chwûq Tsut takes the form of a bronze colored metal ribbon, which wraps around the fingers, hand and forearm of the user; a red kyber crystal is nestled in the palm. When activated the kyber crystal emits a blast of enteched life energy stored inside of itself that can be fired in a single powerful burst. Typically these bursts take the form of crimson or eroded energy though other colors are possible. It can be worn on the right or left arm, whichever the user prefers. A Chwûq Tsut is activated mentally, believed to be due to the fact that the enteched kyber crystal fitted into it contains a living lifeforce and so it responds to the mental cues of its wearer which require the appropriate time and training to master.
The Chwûq Tsut was made with the Sith Clergy in mind, granting them a powerful method of defense as well as the ability to interrogate nonbelievers or torture the faithless. Because the process of entechment is considered invasive and excruciatingly painful by many species all such devices are invariably tied to the darkside. A Chwûq Tsut requires that a single beings lifeforce be enteched into the kyber crystal set into it upon creation and whenever it requires recharge which almost always results in the death of the individual.
