Character
Something was wrong.
Dagos didn't know what it was but it persisted.
It'd been a couple weeks since Dagos was thrust awake with a mortal feeling of…well, a whole lot of feelings actually and none of em positive. It was pain, and hurt, and fear, and the knowledge something was gone and it had hit him like a run away speeder. Dagos to his credit chalked it up to a dream he couldn't even half remember, his subconscious acting out while he slept, but the feeling didn't leave.
It lingered for a few days, the feeling as fresh as the moment it happened. Then it dulled some, never enough to forget it but enough to go on and get through. It grew softer still after that, like a deep bruise, he couldn't see it on the surface but anytime he bumped against it the pain was back like it never left.
He'd been gone from his temporary home on Naboo the first time he got caught on these feelings. That chit was so strong and he was so certain of their truth when they remained a whole day and night after his first being awoken that he did something he thought he would never do. Dagos went back to Nar Shaddaa and checked on his moms.
Yeah he thought it was a dream at first or he dismissed the notion as a dream cuz that was easier than admitting something might actually be wrong. Now, most people in the galaxy didn't have to worry about scary dreams and bad feelings being anything else than that but Dagos wasn't exactly like every other person around. For one thing he was a Jedi…sort of. That really wasn't that impressive but it did just sorta kinda tint his feelings with an extra dash of "could be real". Besides being a Jedi though Dag was also Korunai. Dark skinned, handsome as a mutha sucka, and because of his heritage he also had a deep connection to Pelekotan, the Jungle Mind, the Jedi called it The Force. Pelekotan, The Force, whatever you were gonna call it, being connected to it meant that sometimes feelings were more than feelings, dreams were more than dreams.
Moms had been fine. Dagos left her some credits and left Nar Shaddaa behind him returning to Naboo. He'd been "home" a couple days and those awful feelings were back and stronger than ever. Dag knew he couldn't keep ignoring this but confronting seemed beyond him.
Scared money don't make money
That's what his brother Ragos had always said and it applied here just as easily to the dumb chit Rag had been up to on Nar Shaddaa. Dagos couldn't afford to let fear keep him from figuring out why he couldn't shake this cloud.
What the hell would Caltin think of him if he came back to the house to find out that Dagos had been afraid of meditating a bit?
Dagos was Korunai. Dagos was also a Jedi. Almost, sort of, he was Jedi learner, a Padawaan, someone at the bottom of the order who was pledged to a more advanced Jedi, the learner's Master who was responsible for teaching their Padawaan the ways of the Jedi.
Dagos had the immense fortune of having Caltin Vanagor for a Master. The man looked just like Dagos' friend and sometimes mentor Joran but for all of Joran's faults Caltin had none of them. Caltin was patient and prudent and powerful without being a dick. He meant a lot to Dagos cuz Caltin never forgot him or gave up on him even when Dagos deserved it and Force knows he'd deserved it in the past.
Dagos found a place on the somewhat sprawling grounds of his home, which was really Cal's, and sometimes Joran's but Dag wasn't really sure how it worked all he knew is he had his own little spot there and he preferred laying his head at Cal's place over the temple.
There was more than a few good meditation spots, some even specially designed for meditation but Dag chose his favorite spot. He sat cross-legged and shirtless on a small platform that sat floating in the center of one of the pools in the grounds. Dagos, meditation consisted of using The Force to lift the platform and himself along with it to hover just above the water.
It wasn't easy, especially with all the turmoil inside him at the moment but he was doing it. And that's where he would be found should someone else find their way to the big house.
Connel Vanagor
