BIOGRAPHY:
Chiara Viren was born Princess Chiara Ponderossa Aureli Viren of the Cron Dynasty more than eight centuries ago. In her first life, she trained as a Jedi and healer, lived fully, grew old, and eventually died peacefully; but her rest did not last.
Centuries later, after members of her family awakened from what was assumed to be a permanent crystalline slumber, Chiara's grandmother resurrected her in an effort to tether her son to this unfamiliar future. Chiara, returned in the body of her twenty-year-old self, carried every memory of the life she'd already lived, but with none of the people who'd made that life worth living.
The adjustment period, needless to say, was difficult. Though she found comfort in one of the few familiar faces left to her in the form of one Jedi Master, the long-lived K'paur
Ilias Nytrau
, who helped her adjust to a galaxy that'd by and large changed beyond recognition.
Rather than attempt to reclaim the life she'd lost, Chiara chose to build a new one. She resumed her duties as a Jedi and continued her medical training, working with Jedi such as
Romi Jade
and assisting various Jedi institutions and Enclaves without permanently attaching herself to any one Order. Instead, Chiara chose to dedicate this life to traveling wherever her abilities as a healer were most needed.
Eventually, Chiara met
Merrick Sato
, a Naboo nobleman and fellow Jedi who would later become her husband. After their marriage, she agreed to settle with him on Naboo where she opened her own medical practice, and largely withdrew from mainstream Jedi life.
That changed after Thyferra.
With bacta suddenly scarce, hospitals and healers across the galaxy were forced to rely on older treatments and alternatives that'd long been overshadowed by the miracle drug. Chiara's unusual perspective made her especially valuable.
Unable to ignore a crisis she was uniquely equipped to help address, Chiara chose to step back into the wider galaxy.
