Chasing The Wheel

Rebellious Vanguard
Not a shake. Not a fidget. Not a single movement. She had a blaster to her head, yet she wasn't even flinching. What was wrong with her?! You know, other than being crazy as hell.

Ventasia released the arm, shaking her head as she did. "I already told you. I' not interested in your drinks." Keeping her gaze firmly on him, she took a seat at the edge of the booth, arms crossing over her chest as she leaned back. "Now, exactly what the hell do you want? Or better yet, what do you have that I want? And lets make this quick. I'm hardly in the mood to deal with one such as yourself."

Preliat took the gun away from her head, but he was still as dangerous as hell. He was oozing ferocity now, something that Ventasia wouldn't like to be at the receiving end of, that was for sure. He leaned forward, clucking his tongue as he looked around."My bosses want it, people who would pay highly for it, want it. And I know, that a Jedi, and an Omega operative are here. I know that, because I got friends in the Jedi. What I know, is that some weaselly little man is using one of the casinos as a front for it. Now, the code probably isn't here on the wheel. That's just dumb, too public, too easy. But...something that will lead someone directly to it, is here. And someone just needs to know how to get it."Preliat stared at her longer than he should have, smiling and shaking his head after a moment.

"We can also start with names. Preliat, and you?"

The security force however had already been called, and were arriving just as she was exiting the appartment, Jaden at the front, his Mandalorian armor setting him apart from the others there. "Why hello there...We'd like you to come with us miss." His voice was soft, young, yet strong, but also inviting. Of course, here on this station, when the security force 'asked' you to come with them, it was not an invititation, but an order. Two men moved to either side of the strange woman, and Jaden eyed here carefully, his thumb hovering over the safety of his blaster rifle. "I saw you enter, and I know the man you were following is dead." This made some of the men whisper, now realizing that this was slightly more serious than once anticipated. The Mandalorian spoke again, his voice this time much more stern and authoritative. "So again, come with me."

Diana stopped for a brief few seconds as she was confronted with a wall of people. She frowned slightly, not recognizing any of them as station security. The uniforms were correct of course but identification was absent. The Wheel after all was ruled over by the Sith, perhaps a criminal element existed here but in the end the Sith ruled here and not whoever the governor was. The Jedi stopped for a second, clearly intending on cooperating.

“I would be more than happy to, but first I need to see your identification.” Diana said it with the stern voice of a woman who was ready to fight if necessary, after all she was just a young girl alone in a big scary place. “These are dangerous times after all.”

A plot started forming in her head, and a smile touched her eyes.

A chuckle came from the young man. Identification? What was she expecting, a badge with a name tag displayed on each and every uniform? But back to the issue at hand...Identification. unlike the others around him, Jaden held a temporary status as one of Popo's personal guards for the time. Through his connections he had gotten Jaden a temporary badge for use on he Wheel. For all intents and purposes, he was part of the security force here, but more of a personal touch. Tapping the small display on his wrist plate, he pulled up a small screen with his Wheel Security ID and information. None of it was forged, Jaden refused to be involved in THAT seedy of a job, but in the margin, it did have he word "Temp" in bold red letters in both Basic and Huttese.

"Now with that out of the way..." He motioned to the speeder behind him.

“I just recalled actually. I have an appointment somewhere.” Diana smiled at the man, and then raised her palm in an almost mystical way. She wiped her hands across the two men that flanked her and the force took hold. They received a glazed over look in their eye, almost as if they were about to collapse. She spoke again. “You will forget me.”

She smiled slightly, and then walked between the gap of the people that were present, the two men and then the Mandalorian fellow.

She knew that it likely wouldn't last very long, but the Jedi Mind Wipe was an age old practice that Diana quite excelled at, especially on the weak minded such as Space station guards. Even if the Mandalorian was strong enough to resist the technique he would be dazed for a few moments, allowing Diana to exit the apartment building and return to the crowd outside.

Her eyes simply watched him. After all this, now he wanted a name? Was her trying to enlist her help, or get to know her? No matter which, she side stepped the question. As she always did hen she didn't trust someone. "Kareen. And I'm not exactly interested in who wants the damn thing. I just want to know what it does, and how to get my hands on it. So, wanna give me some answers, or are we done here?"

He angled the helmet at her, and bumped the table lightly. Underneath the visor, the HUD started to come to life, holonet and whatnot searching for her real name. He didn't want to be sitting with a Sith. He glanced to the door, and then pretended to put on his helmet out of security reasons or that he was about to leave. He motioned for her to walk and talk, he didn't like being stationary for too long.

Nothing yet, they were searching through the Republic criminal and then Black Sun wanted lists first. Most organized and well-documented. Then he would go into the other databases, but it would take at least about four minutes, if that."From what I know, it's a program. That literally, can bypass...anything. Or a line of code. And I'll make you a deal. You have to take it off of here, and keep it out of the Sith's hands. And I'll help you out, in whatever way I can."He paused and turned to face her among the bustling crowd of aliens and greedy casino goers."And I hope you realize the benefits of a partnership rather than yet another outset of competition."Nothing in Republic or Black Sun criminal or known persons databases. So that meant that she wasn't a criminal, didn't owe anyone money, and wasn't an enemy of the Republic. So, she might actually be a friend. He just was placing his trust in her, for now.

For a moment, as the woman spoke things began to blurr. Time was an illusion, and he was starting to..."No, blast!" Gripping his hand into a tight fist he spat Mandalorian curses at the two men. She had gotten lucky, caught the man off guard. It wouldn't happen again. Sucking his teeth he put two fingers to the side of his helmet, rewinding the field footage that his helmet recorded. The clearest picture he had of her...was right before she pulled her Jedi space magic. Taking a snapshot of the image with literally the blink of an eye, the image was saved and cached into his plethora of images used in his helmet's facial recognition system. He would find her...He had her trail. Looking back to the two security guards, he shook his head. They were still dazed. "Damn aruetii..." he muttered as his jetpack activated him, tossing him into the air.

Landing on the roof of one of the many Casinos on the Wheel he began running the recognition program in his helmet. "Where are you my little brunette..." he muttered as his HUD lit up with hundreds of tiny blue squares, each locking on to different human and near-human species as he dragged his head across the crowd.

This time Diana decided to stick to the back alleys of The Wheel. She avoided all cameras and blacked out those she could not avoid. It was incredibly slow going compared to her earlier quick progress, but it would make it harder to find her upon the station. She knew that the mandalorian would not stop looking for her, and he had all of station security on his side.

A brief few times she considered getting rid of the light dye in her hair, going back to her natural red to help her appear different. The trouble of course with this was that she would begin to look like her real self, and that was something she could not afford.

The real Diana Moridena would be quite a prize in Sith Space, and capture was not an option.

Quickly Diana moved towards the casino she had seen in her vision, sticking to the backdoors and back alleys of the Wheel. At one point she stole a hoodie jacket off a clothes line, draping it over herself and pulling the hood over her head to help disguise her, then she swiftly made her way into the casino, searching for the man with a briefcase.
(For those of you also looking for the code. I'm going to say that some random Nikto has it in a briefcase in the casino. Obviously the code isn't a factory sub or anything just a plot device so getting it won't really reward you in anyway XD but still if you want it Nikto with a briefcase has it.)

This was getting more tedious by the moment. Now he wanted her to follow him? Part of her was thinking about shoving him out the nearest airlock at her first chance. A deep grunt of frustration escaped her lips as she rose to her feet, following behind her him begrudgingly. "A code that can bypass anything? Now that's something I wouldn't mind getting my hands on. And all I have to do is keep it from the Sith, huh? Sounds a little bit too simple." Her eyes panned about for a moment, taking in those around her before looking back to him. "And by the way your acting, I can assume you believe your being watched. Your moving to make yourself a more difficult target, and to try and possibly break the line of sight if whoever is watching you. Though, in a place like this, only the latter is possible. So, what's the catch?"

@[member="Preliat Mantis"]

"That's because I'm a simple man."An audible beep finally read through the files, IDing the woman. He stopped in the middle of the crowd, turning towards her. He gave a very grim smile behind his helmet. He doubted that she thought much of the Mandalorian tech, and even moreso of the people. They weren't as stupid or war-mongering for that matter, as people thought. For now, they were a wounded animal, and that possibly made them even moreso dangerous. The Omega's files were open to the Mandos, being that they were so closely related.

Preliat smiled."I wasn't trying to avoid anyone, infact, I'm under protection and protecting the people that own this station. I just did this to buy myself some more time, to make sure you are who you really are. And, as a matter of fact, I don't like liars, Miss Terana. Forgive me if I pronounce it wrong, basic is not my first language." He turned and then stared at her, letting the crowd around them move.

"You keep it out of Sith, and anyone helping the Empire's hands, and I'll forgive you for lying to me. Because lying, to my people, is a capital offense."

Well, she'd been found out. How? She had no clue, and didn't let it bother her too much. Ventasia simply watched him, her glare sharp as ever as they stood, the mass of sapient species moving around them. "So, there's no catch? I keep it away from the Sith, and your just going to help me get the code? just like that? Forgive me if I don't exactly believe a word coming from your mouth. As for the lie, I'll do it if I feel the need. Where your from, it might be against the rules. But where I'm from, it's something that helps keep you alive. So, get used to it. Now, what's the plan?"

@[member="Preliat Mantis"]

"It's not that it's against the rules. It's more along the lines of a sin. And yes, obviously. No catch, nothing. You just keep it out of the Sith's hands and any of their friends, and we'll be hunky-dorey good to go. I want you to promise me that, because I'm trusting you as much to keep your promise, if you so choose to make it. I'll tell you the plan and any further details once you do that for me, Ventasia."He said bluntly, not really having the time to be goofing around. The code was nearly invaluable, and he wanted it to keep out of a lot of people's hands, and he figured that the OP or any of their friends could do it. Besides, he never really liked the Fringers or anyone like that.

Beside, he needed to keep on his guard. She may have not been able to read his mind, but he still didn't like having to work with a woman who's database entry wasn't exactly pleasant.

He found his elusive little Jedi soon enough...Walking into a place with as heavy security as a Casino, she was bound to be spotted by a camera or two. The call came in a few minutes later as she stalked her prey. Shaking his head as a com came in he flashed his Identification to the bouncers. "No, that's fine...I'll take her." Its not that he was an exceptional warrior in comparison to a Jedi Master or Knight, but to be honest, these guys would just get in his way if a fight broke out. Chatter and laughter stopped and continued as he made his way through the crowds of people within. The smell of deathstick smoke was thick and musty, even once filtered through Jaden's helm.

They disgusted him. Sure, Jaden had saved up quite a bit of credits from working this job the last few weeks, but the way people decided to spend their money...Well it just didn't make sense to him, tossing their credits into a machine that worked on "random chance" that was actually closely monitored by the droid brains within, allowing only a certain number of participants per roll to actually "win it big" only to have their winnings taxed and collected. It was a vicious cycle.

Diana walked through the Casino with the hoodie drawn tightly over her head. There was a frown on her face, rather unsure of what she was doing here anymore. She was compromised here, she should be trying to find a way off this station.

She had a job to do however, and Jedi always got the job done. She had to find the code, and then she had to destroy it. There was no exception to that rule, no way out of it, no way she could not do it. Even if it led to her capture Diana had to finish the mission. Quickly she moved through the Casino, her eyes moving across the crowds scanning for her new target.

The briefcase she had seen was the key, and with quick eyes she searched for it and its handler.

This one.....wasn't too bright. Or at least he was way too trusting. Ventasia wasn't known much for keeping her word. She was known for getting the job done, at any cost. But, if a promise was what he wanted, then that's what he'd get. How long it would last, or if she'd even remember she made it, was another story of it's own. But to get what she wanted, she'd give it to him. For sure. "Fine. I promise I'll use the code only my own selfish desires. Now, that we've got that out of the way, how about you tell me how I'm supposed to get my hands on this code? You know, just so I know the plan."

"The plan is you don't move, you stay here, and I go get it."He said thoroughly, turning around. He didn't trust her, in fact, he had his own angle. A devious angle, of his own devious design. He smiled beneath his helmet. She was too trusting to trust him so quickly to keep his word.

Rebellious Vanguard
The rolling of her eyes probably wouldn't be seen considering he turned his back on her. Nonetheless, she tuned, ready to move in the opposite reaction. "If you seriously think I'm going to stand here and trust you, your more crazy than me. Don't know why I wasted my time with the likes of you. Have fun searching. One warning. You cross my path again, and I'll blow you out the closest airlock. And enjoy it. And if you turn your back on me, I'm not against sticking a knife in it, and smiling while you bleed."

That's when Preliat turned around and sledgehammer punched the redhead right in the face, in a brisk, precise, and brutal movement. He was a former Null-hockey goon, and he excelled at being quick, and painful with his punches. He turned and prepared to give a brutal hockey beatdown if she even thought about fighting back.

"Say that again, you stupid queen."Infact, he had seen the rolling, infact, he saw everything, thanks to his helmet's 360-degree visor viewing letting him have total control of the situation. He was prepared to engage in a brutal hand to hand fight with her, but the surprise of the punch and the lethal nature of it would probably knock her down or maybe worse, due to the fact he was wearing crushgaunts.
