STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES

+ Beauty- being partially Diathim has resulted in the possession of the beauty that is often prescribed to the ‘space angels.’
+ Wings- 6 wings rest carefully on her back, often through specially designed clothing, that give her the ability to fly (visual reference.)
+ Shapeshifting Abilities- the clawdite in her allows for some shapeshifting- mostly in her face, hair length, hair color, eye color, and skin tone. She cannot morph much more than anything else, and it can’t be too drastically different from her ‘natural’ look.

- Lonely- Charis’s life has been rather sad, and she longs for companionship. Friends, family, and anything inbetween. She wants to find her place and thrive there.
- Easily Overwhelmed- she can easily, and often does, get overwhelmed. This is especially true in stressful situations or in new situations. This is also true in new urban areas with high populations.
- Noticeable- while Charis does not have the full glow that many Diathim have, the young woman still glows. Thus, she is easily recognizable, especially so in the dark. She often wears special clothes to try to offset this, but unless it covers every inch of her and is special in material, her glow will still escape.

BIOGRAPHY

A Clawdite disguised as a human trader was the initial story of how Charis came to be born. Of course, Charis never quite remembered the full story behind her origins. She was separated from her parents at a pretty early age, and only vaguely remembered her mother. Her father had no actual place in her memory, minus the discussions from her mother.

Nonetheless, as she was told, the Clawdite ended up getting stuck on Iegos in Cliffhold after a crash. Charis’s mother was curious about the world outside of Iegos, and would often wander into the outpost in search of information, mostly out of curiosity. She was never brave enough to actually leave, though she actually took up a few jobs to earn credits during her time in the city.

In the end, the Clawdite and the Diathim met and quickly fell for each other. The Diathim’s family was not very happy with their daughter’s choice, though they had little ability to change her mind or her feelings. And as such, the Clawdite swore not to leave.

Until the Diathim discovered she was pregnant- a surprise pregnancy, that would ultimately take quite the toll on the woman. Clawdite and Diathim was not a common mixture, if it had even happened before. The couple decided to find a geneticist, mostly to help fix any potential issues that may arise.

With some careful gene-editing, the couple were able to have a mostly healthy baby girl, though the price was nearly their entire life savings. After her birth, though, the Clawdite just wasn’t sure if this was the life for him- a baby was a huge commitment for a spacer that had faked his identity. And so, he eventually left.

He left behind a heartbroken mother and a confused toddler. Not that it mattered for much longer- slavers arrived on the planet by her 6[SUP]th[/SUP] birthday, and unfortunately found the small home they lived in. They were ruthless, and despite her mother’s attempts to get Charis out of harms way, it was too late. A net had been placed in the trees, and no one could fly out. The town was surrounded.

And finally, they went door to door to take worthy captives- healthy looking and young. The brightness, of course, made this slightly difficult- but when they saw Charis, young, looking healthy, with only a soft glow. It was the perfect specimen! Her mother tried to fight to keep her, but the slavers eventually knocked her out with a brutal smack of a blaster on the back of her head.

And so, Charis was brought to a slaveholding town in the Outer Rim Territories. She was purchased soon after, mostly as help for another slave- a servant. During this brief stint in her life, she learned the cruel realities of her life- most people were mean, slavers were very bad, and the few memories she had of her mother, she missed more than anything. She did her best to satisfy the demands of her ‘employer’ though they were harsh, strict, and unkind.

Her luck turned, though, at 13 years old- another family was interested in her. They were from another planet, though they were careful to not mention the planet’s name in front of her. Slavery was, after all, illegal within those borders. But it was not like the girl yet understood that there was a life outside of this. She had been doing menial work her entire life, with not much education or care.

Her new owners, though, were much more kind than her other. She was given a day off a week. She was occasionally given a stipend. Perhaps most importantly, they decided to educate her to a small degree. Charis would eventually discover the planet through watching news when they did, or through her reading. By 18, she felt like she had a future- even if it meant cleaning, cooking, and watching over the couples many children.

By 19, though, disaster had struck. Her family’s business dealings were being investigated, and the local government was questioning them directly. In worry that their illicit trade in slavery would be discovered, they told Charis they were buying her a ticket to Coruscant, along with several of the other slaves. A small apartment had been purchased for them, with enough credits to last 6 months. The only stipulation? They would never tell on them. Stuck in somewhat of a Stockholm-like syndrome, most agreed, including Charis.

Living on Coruscant, though, was horrifying for her. Purely city, crowded everywhere, and very little privacy. Either way, she found a way to succeed. Mostly through variety of babysitting gigs, along with some waitressing, before being hired as a live-in nanny for a wealthy Coruscanti couple. There, her role expanded her knowledge- of food, education, and more. Luckily, she was even able to begin tutoring some of the younger children, allowing her to venture into part of the field she hadn’t been- teaching. She also began to find time

Nonetheless, after an accident with the families children, she was laid off from her role and moved back to the crowded apartment with the others. Needing work, she began to search once more. At 24, she hoped that she still had a chance to make a change. Or at least, find a new job that would help her as a person and as a professional.

It wasn’t the life she saw for herself, but at least she was succeeding- and perhaps most importantly, not starving.
