There was nothing else to say upon the matter of Carida. The situation was similar and the republic had won because of their technological superiority. The most they could say they got out of that was more information on the Republic Navy. It seemed to be a sitalemate and that there wouldn't be a clear winner for quite sometime.

He could only wonder as to what it must of looked like. Flashing colours across space, explosions, close encounters with a bigger ship nearly destroying a smaller ship, the tactics, everything.

"The war will be long. Does the Dark Lord encourage you to make your own plans?"

“It will.” Mierin said silently as she looked at the battle over Carida. She had not been there, and she doubted she could have changed it, but the future would hold different circumstances. The One Sith were building their fleet, and the next battle would change things. “Yet it will be hastened by our own advancements.”

The Dark Lords Hand smiled slightly, and then payed attention to his next question.

“No.” She answered simply. “Not me. I am his Hand. One of them. I see to his will”

That was not an all encompassing answer, but it was true enough. Mierin had no plans or designs of her own, and neither did any of the other Hands. They sought to what the Dark Lord wanted them to see too, and nothing else.

At that point he frowned. She had said previously that the Dark Lord had a vision for the Galaxy, and the first part of that was a galaxy without the Galactic Republic, which meant the Jedi as well, but he had yet to find out about the Jedi Order. "Will you lead them to victory?" He asked curiosly and placed a hand onto the helmet on the table. He wanted to fight too, just like the woman who he spoke to.

"Who are his Hands and how many are there?" He knew better than to ask why she wasn't with the Dark Lord at the moment if she was his hand. It sounded like something a child would say or maybe a bad joke. He hoped one day to understand all that the Dark Lord wanted. To even see him and serve him.

“Perhaps. It is difficult to say. I am hardly a fleet commander.” That was not really true. In the Ancient Empire Mierin had led the vast fleets of Athiss to much success until eventually four Republic armada's had cornered them. It had been an impossible situation, and the memory once again stung Mierin. She hated remembering her own failures, and it bothered her beyond all belief that such a thing could have occurred.

Her lips pursed for a moment, and then she regarded the apprentice.

“There are three of us.” Mierin said calmly. “Helios, Vindica, and I.”

She gave the names in no particular order. They all had equal standing after all.

He nodded his head in response. She may not have been a Fleet Commander, or so she said but he certainly wanted to be one when he was a true Sith and was capable of leading the One Sith's forces to battle. He wanted to be at the head of a One Sith force as it destroyed the Galactic Republic's fleet.

He didn't have enough knowledge of the One Sith force and the Galactic Republic's ships, so he simply re-imagined the Battle of Carida from the images that he had seen and imagined himself upon one of the ships, an older version of himself of course with the Dark Mark leading down his body. "How do you think I can become one?" He asked with a single raised eyebrow, and his hand tightened around the top of his helmet, forgetting that his hand was still upon it for so long.

"You are the only Sith Pureblood." It was an assumption, she didn't really need to say it either however. Helios, Vindica. They simply didn't sound like the names of Sith Purebloods.

She smiled.

A budding fleet commander was he? Well that would take time. Training in tactics, and likely help from those outside of the Order. The One Sith Empire had many admirals, some smart, some...not so smart. It would be interesting to see another of her kind rise to the heads of ships and fleets. Perhaps she would have to encourage this.

“Learn.” She said simply. “From the libraries. From the admirals. More than a few are willing to teach. It is not simply the force you must hone, but your mind.”

Mierin pointed to her head. Learning the technologies of the ships would not hurt either.

“Yes.” She answered his second question. “Though the others two are no worse for it.”

She didn't mind admitting that. Helios and Vindica were both excellent warriors, each had their own strength, like she had hers.

He smiled in return.

When she had encouraged him in her own way, he couldn't help but be glad that another Sith Pureblood was encouraging him to become an Admiral for the One Sith, but he knew at this point in his life he was far from ready. He would have to take part in many battles before he could actually understand the tactics that were employed he figured. In the next engagement, the Sith Acolyte would make sure that he was upon one of the ships while the battle occurred. That way, he could watch the sip's commander in action, and maybe even question him a little. "I understand." He repeated.

He would have to learn about the ships soon. Even at this age he'd have to begin studying how ships worked, disadvantages and the advantages of some of the ships within their own navy. Being a Hand of the Dark Lord sounded quite interesting, but he wondered again...

"When I'm older and stronger, do you think I can be a Hand?"

“Perhaps.” Mierin said flatly.

The Hands of the Dark Lord were specialized, perhaps even more so than his Voices. They carried out his will, leading armies, fleets, handling assassinations. Whatever the Dark Lord deemed. This was their life, moving from place to place and doing as he bade them to do. It took a very certain kind of person to do that. Whats more, it took the will of the Dark Lord to do it.

“You do not choose to be a Hand, Malphas.” She said his name with a smile, knowing the surprise he would find in her knowing it. “The Dark Lord chooses you.”

With that she stood, patting the Sith Pureblood on the cheek, and then leaving him.
