Xyl is an individual of a mostly unappealing appearance to some. Her bodily composition has transformed through ill-fate enough through the years that many are well put-off by her heavily cybernetic body. Beneath her clothing, she is scarred and beaten. She sports usually a long coat or barrage jacket along with a pair of worn boots. Being of Korunnai descent, her skin is of a darker hue, though time has turned her once black hair a staunched white. Her bodily composition is approximately 60% cybernetics, including a cybernetic skull, spine, eye replacements, hands, a waist girdle, a fully replaced leg and the replacement of both knees. Her cybernetics are a mismatch of various parts, most scavenged or once scrapped, to suit the fact that they were picked up in times of spare credits. Her right hand, specifically, is an older make, a tridactylate Series 808 model.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born to a Korunnai family of traders, Xyl knew of the life of a spacer since her early upbringing. Her family frequented the Reena Trade Route through on to the Corellian Run, trading goods from Bothawui and other Midrim planets to the native Selonians of Corellia. At a rightful age, she sought out her own trading operations and travels aboard her own ship. A purchased XS Freighter thus became her home, a nomad spacer that frequented then the shadier parts of worlds, scrounging for work as most smugglers did.
Working as a freelancer, she built up a small collection of credits, nothing as far as a fortune, though enough to work day to day. Working on the fringe of society proved hazardous, an unlucky speeder crash or two leading to her more thorough "reconstruction," along with a few ill-fated run-ins with some "unsavory" folk. Ever since, her unlucky streak has more or so widened its reaches. Not much sympathy or patience exists for heavily reconstructed cyborgs, and as a result, she faces discrimination in all but the seediest of places.
Most know her as "that wizened, old spacer with a few loose wires," in her frequented spaceports, though these remarks are only slightly justified. A quirky and colorful character, the cyborg cares little for the judgement of others and chooses to approach the universe with an open mind, with a likewise liking to others with such attitudes. Xyl cares for those that others turn a blind-eye to, including droids, cyborgs, and many non-humans facing discrimination. She can be found in the corner talking up droids and non-humans, or working as a freelancer for hire, smuggling goods and making dangerous runs at the drop of a hat. She is the type for proclaiming wild tales of her travels to all with an open, available, often annoyed ear. The strange cyborg has a well-known bad habit of picking up work without requesting payment first, much to the appreciation of her customers and to her own absentminded chagrin.
