Public Character of the Month - August 2025 - Nominations!

August has flown by and invasion season has been great fun to see again! Always enjoy a few invasions myself and the stories from what I've been in and seen have been lots of fun. Excited to see what I have missed and who else has been having a blast with the differing stories going around!

Here are the rules for the nominations, as always, please make sure you check that you are following them when posting your nominations!

Rules are as following:

  • Nominate a character that is not of your writing that has impressed you in the last month.
  • Give the reasons why.
    • Please include thread links for others to see why you love the character so much.
  • You may nominate someone that has already been nominated, they will be listed once in the voting stage and the reasons combined into one.
  • This is for In Character stuff.
  • During the nomination step, you must ask the winner a question for your nomination to count. Yes, that means in this thread, along with the nomination also put a question for the eventual winner, ya scamp.
  • During the voting, please limit yourselves to one vote.
  • Character must have been active in the last month to qualify, would be great if you would keep it to the last months exploits too.
  • Characters can only win once.
  • Please do not nominate Staff.
  • One week to nominate. Approximately.

* Character may not reign as Character of the Month for an exact month. You will live.

Super excited to see who gets nominated this month and who will join the previous winners of Lodd Grimmin Lodd Grimmin , Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen , Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr , Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania , Jenn Kryze Jenn Kryze , Darth Caedes Darth Caedes , Roman Vossari Roman Vossari , Naamino Zuukamano Naamino Zuukamano , Micah tol Powl Micah tol Powl , Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik , Lorn Reingard Lorn Reingard , Her Her , Azurine Varek Azurine Varek , Kaila Irons Kaila Irons , The Madclaw The Madclaw , and joint winners of last month Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor and Xeykard Xeykard !!!

Feel free to link and share the reasons behind the nominations as well as the questions for the winner! They are a great read every month!

I nominate Valaine Valentine Valaine Valentine for my vote, for a new person to this board they have been a blast to write with. I have seen their posts in other threads and their rp is always consistently fun to read. For their first ever character here I look forward to seeing where Valaine goes, and if she does learn from Vakhari.

This thread here -> X has been wonderful, and I am sure others who have interacted with Valaine both IC and OOC can support my vote.

As for my question for whoever the winner is, where would you like to see your character in a year?

I nominate Morrow Morrow . In a time where instant gratification is the norm, Morrow's slow burn development feels like reading an actual book that's also not generated by an AI.

Char bio link.

I could kiss you.

I nominate Koda Fett Koda Fett . Bro doesn't miss, even with short move-the-plot-along posts, it's always fire. Can't really describe the energy he brings, but it always hypes a thread up. Best bounty hunter on the board, no contest. (and I'm licensed!)

QUESTION: Biggest aspiration for the character going forward?

Prefacing that I have not been bought with a nomination.

I'm not a big reader of threads I'm not involved in, either because I'm lazy or just have less time than I try to convince myself I do. That said, I find myself pretty routinely checking into Morrow Morrow threads as he's just a fun, morally bankrupt conflicted character that has some great reactions to things going on around him. Special shoutout to Talin Treicolt Talin Treicolt as well, as reading their dynamic with Morrow has been one of the highlights.

QUESTION: What's your process for pacing character development and not rushing things or taking things too slow?

Consistent character development and growth for months, always a joy to read and has been a staple in THR practically since its inception as RNR.

Threads:

A Turn Around The Garden
Truth and Falsehood
Testing Grounds

Thank you so, so much for the nomination Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren .

Unfortunately, as Chaos Staff, I am not eligible for Character of the Month. But this means a lot to be nominated and I love that you think Sib is a joy to read. ^_^

Yeah, wasn't aware that RPJ's were also exempt </3

Changing vote then to Blaire Sal-Soren Blaire Sal-Soren (who was going to be my choice for next month lol)

Blaire has had a lot of great development this month, both in various threads and in our recent faction invasion:

A Turn Around The Garden
Total Eclipse of The Heart
The Scars We Carry

Also, since I forgot my question:

How many drafts of a post/writing piece do you typically go through, before you get to the finished work?

I nominate Rathmar Praji Rathmar Praji .

He has already set up an entire podracing thread, a galactic shockboxing thread, and is in the process of setting up an even bigger podracing thread and eventually swoop bike racing thread. All the events so far have been well done with a considerable of effort put into them. I've been having a blast with all of them, thanks!

Serolonis Riot Racing
Galactic Shockboxing Tournament

Oh, I have to ask you a question, right? Did you find it difficult to create all of these events? I know the podracer had both a map and individual hazards for each leg!
