Chance Encounters, desolate and frozen

The world of Hoth was unlike anything he had experienced before, it was so desolate in appearance with blankets of snow covering anything and everything. It honestly did surprise him when he heard people actually live here, how silly it was to live in such a place of baroness. It was like there was no organic life, although there defiantly was the views of the snow covered peeks absorbed in Tobasu's view such beauty in such a empty place in a sense it was how he felt, he felt beautiful, strong and confident yet at the same time there was something missing, he was empty but what was needed to fill the hole was as good as anyone's guess. He thought about how this is normally where the divine wisdom of someone will come into play, yet those kinds of omens were luck based, nothing more.

Aboard a small freighter (which housed more than just a few smugglers, it was practically a people freighter taking people to Hoth for some kind of price) Tobasu sat, waiting just inside the hull. A Twilek came up to him, asking for payment he sighed giving him half. His voice floated through the air with a crisp sound to it, you could of called it authority. "I'll pay the other half, when you return me to Telos. As for now, you don't tell anyone why I'm here, if our friends were to be found out that they were compromised, everything would end with both your and my own head on the chopping block."

The green skinned alien nodded, doing exactly as he was told, Tobasu felt like he was in power and he liked the authority and responsibility it gave him. The door opened and out he walked, covered in thick wool coats and pants he made way to the exit. Doors opened and just outside, five hundred yards from the hanger was the contact. In his right side held the package, which was labelled dangerous, in truth he had no idea what was inside he just assumed it was some kind of spice or stimulant. A group of dark skinned humans waited, no more than four their faces showed anger and impatience a sign Tobasu saw as most likely hostile, his weapons concealed under the many layers of clothing as he approached. His crimson eyes flaring with passion and hatred for people like this, who tried to intimidate him, they were not scary, they were just fools. He made his way, one spoke out of turn and Tobasu sighed, his golden tendrils trailing behind, even in the desolate, ice covered rock known as Hoth his appearance was still a sight to behold. He took the hood off and smiled, words escaping his lips in that same tone that held authority. "Who's Mr. Swak?"

One of the men, the second to the left raised his hand and spoke his voice, held the same tone as if he was trying to defend his turf. "I am, you have it?"

Peering hesitantly out the window of the shuttle the young padawan was oddly stunned by the vast whiteness that waited for her outside the hanger. Endless slow cloaked the planet and smothered any change of life that struggled to thrive on Hoth. Akodya found the emptiness strangely beautiful. She'd never been to the icy world before. As much as she longed to go and investigate the frosty landscape further, she had work to do. She was here to study under the guidance of an experienced healer and doctor who resided in the lifeless planet. How people managed to survive here was beyond her. Abandoning traditional robes for this mission, Akodya donned a thick white jacket with a white fur lining, white thermal pants and tough boots. Her lightsaber was strapped to her belt and hidden away under her coat, safe from prying eyes. Since she was alone it was best she didn't draw attention to herself. A soft sigh escaping her, Akodya rose from her seat and made her way through the vessel to the boarding ramp. The aggressive cold air was beginning to reveal itself slowly as she neared the exit into the hanger.

The brutal wind was the only thing that welcomed her to the planet, immediately she pulled her hood over her dark hair. Out of the corner of her eye Akodya caught sight of someone else leaving the warmth of their ship. A single figure emerged from a dodgy looking freighter and she suddenly felt a violent chill run down her spine; and it wasn't from the cold. There was a dark aura hovering around the person that sent Akodya on high alert. The padawan bit her lower lip before striding toward the hanger doors where her friend should be meeting her. Scanning the area she couldn't see any sign of him. She had sent him a quick holo informing him of her arrival time, so he should be there to pick her up soon. Akodya inwardly groaned. She hated waiting. Tugging on the edge of her gloves the girl leaned on the metal wall of the hanger and waited, her hazel eyes drifting towards the other traveler who had began trudging through the snow.

Something isn't right about him...

The person was approaching a group of men in the distance. Raising an eyebrow, Akodya extended her awareness to the gang. A tense feeling prickled her skin. They were nervous, nervous and armed. That was never a good mix. Their anxiety was beginning to suffocate her. Something in the back of her head told her it wasn't going to end well. Against her better judgement, Akodya thought she should study them further. She had a few moments to kill, after all. With perfect posture and an expressionless face, Akodya walked towards the group, shadowing the figure from earlier. She was careful to make it look like she was just moving towards the settlement that sat a few meters behind them.

If there was going to be trouble, she felt she needed to be there to break it up.

Large orbs fixated on the man who was talking, his voice rambling on about how he had to wait all this time and how he was unpleased. It just went on and on, feeling like he was there for hours the brief few moments were as if time had stopped...He was bored, it was obvious, the doubtful and displeased look across his face proved it. The man was about to say something, he raised a hand, pearly white teeth showing as his other hand tossed the package onto the snow before them. He spoke, his tone showed his true feelings; "You wanted it, I conveyed it here. Pay up so I can leave this pile of crap you call home."

It was surprising too Tobasu that the man kicked up a stink about the so called 'insult' however when he spoke with such hatred and ferocity in his voice Tobasu laughed. Cackling really, loudly too, this guy thought he was being intimidating and truly the only thing that was scary about him was his breath that smelt like banatha crap. "You kids these days, how about I show you what respect means...Punk?"

He laughed louder, Tobasu nearly rolling on the floor as he cracked his neck, this wasn't the first time he had been threatened and it surely would not be the last. And although the numbers were against him, Tobasu was quite certain he could take these three low life's with no problem. He cried out in tears of laughter as he continued to speak, the man was rather irritated to say the least, and by now Tobasu wasn't bored he was excited, adrenaline started to pump through him as he could just feel a situation was about to break out and these, so called situations were what made this job fun. "I'm telling you punk, shut up before I kill you." He drew a blaster pistol quite quickly and was holding it mare centimetres from the teenagers face.

A sinister looked crossed his face as he spoke, his voice deepening and those red eyes seemed to be burning with passion. "Try it, let's see who has the better reflex..." He bellowed back at the man.

"I will kill you kid. This is your last chance."

"I said do it."

"It's your funer-..."

The sound of a blaster went off, a person coughed as snow picked up into what would be a blizzard, yet there were no signs...The weather seemed unpredictable, uncontrollable. POW! That same sound again echoed through the region, and then a hysterical laughter followed. That sinister laugh that would send spine chilling shivers downs one back echoed again and again. What happened was that, during the sudden storm of snow, Tobasu with what would seem to be lighting fast reflexes drew his own blaster pistol and shot the man without second thought, after all it was self defence. The man laid on top of the package now, scarlet red snow beneath him as he was seriously wounded, constantly coughing up blood he was lucky to not be dead already. The other men behind him were shocked at the turn of events, they stood still until of them screamed out, "Get him."

Tobasu, being the athletic specimen he was had started sprinting, not out of fear but it was dumb to fight with blasters at such a close range against so many people. He would run, as fast as he could, his feet trenching through the snow as a trail of crimson liquid followed. Unknowingly at first due to the heat of the situation, the man had indeed shot him, his right shoulder aching as he clutched it. A groan escaped his mouth as he turned for a brief moment, passing a figure that seemed to be heading towards the nearby settlement. His crimson eyes darted on her only for brief milliseconds as he said, "Run..."

He would take a few more steps and then collapse, the last thing he could see was such pallid snow before he hit it with a soft thud. Those few men they chased him still, acknowledging where he had fallen they chased and chased and if this girl who had crossed Tobasu's path would not run she would be hurt. Poor girl...

Discreetly spying on the small gathering Akodya managed to see a package in the fix. So it was an exchange? she thought to herself as she pressed on through the ever thickening snow. Turning away and facing the settlement, her body tensed at the sound of raised voices. The small party's energies had risen from fretful to panic and anger in less then a few seconds. Then the sound of a blaster echoed through the icy plains followed by a brief flash of red. What had that man done? Snapping her head around Akodya was welcomed back to the scene with a display of blazing blaster fire. The wind suddenly began to grow in strength and howl angrily at the disturbance, picking up the layers of snow beneath her feet and through it into the air to block her vision. She could feel it getting colder. A storm was brewing.

The aimless bombardment of pistols in the haze of the blizzard could still be heard, inching closer and closer to where she had been standing. The padawan's fingers instinctively curled around her lightsaber hilt as she waited for the group to emerge. However, the troublemaker got to her first. With a still smoking blaster wound in his shoulder, he ran shakily before his haunting red eyes met her hazel ones and he murmured a barely audible warning.

"Run..." He managed, before collapsing face first into the snow at her feet.

Stang.

Forgetting about the nearing pack of angry men for a moment she dropped to her knees and flipped the body over to investigate his injury. However she was shocked by the man, or rather boy's face. He had to be younger than herself, not by much but still a good few years behind her. His features were still boyish and youthful, heck, she wondered if he was even old enough to shave yet. What in the name of a galaxy was a kid doing making exchanges, probably illegal ones, ALONE? He should be in a classroom not on kriffing Hoth of all places! she thought to herself, raising her open palm above the hole in his shoulder. Maybe she had time to heal it befo-

A blaster shot landed in the bloodstained frost beside her, demanding her attention.

Nevermind.

"The girl's with 'im, KILL HER!" One thug yelled as the wind forced Akodya's hood down. Jumping to her feet just before the blurry figures open fired through the violent gale force. Drawing her weapon in one swift motion and igniting the burning emerald blade, the Jedi deflected the shots with ease. They ricocheted of the saber and flew into the white abyss which they came from, the girl was unable to see where they would eventually land. She was not here to kill. In the brief break in the pelting Akodya waved her open palm in a horizontal line, clearing the snow away and revealing the men's location. Standing there a bit dumbfounded, the men gawked at her. She stared back, her glare menacing.

"It's not smart to pick a fight with a vessel of the force." She bellowed over the screaming storm. "If you value your life, you'd run."

Her empty threat seemed to have gotten through to them, the group's eyes not leaving her still humming blade. Sure, she was only a padawan...but they didn't know that. With weapons lowered and their tails between their legs they fled back to wherever they had come from, some yelling a few insults along they way. With a sigh of relief she turned back to the boy who lay in the snow. The aura from before still lingered on him...it made her skin crawl.

"Now, what am I going to do with you?" She said out loud, snow from the winds already beginning to cover up the lower part f his body. Deactivating her blade and latching it back onto her belt she heaved the boy up, putting his arm around her shoulder so she took most of the weight. He was still limp.

"Come on kid, lets get you out of the cold and fixed up. I have some questions for you." She muttered.

.... fight .... vessel .... the force.
.... fight .... vessel .... the force.

He was still down, yet he could hear as if the voice was a whisper echoing through him, only catching brief glimpses as he faded in and out. A girl?...A weapon?...Thugs...Gone?

Head aching, throbbing from the events that unfolded, it also didn't help he was laying in frozen tundra yet still the throbbing wouldn't stop. Still only catching glimpses he could feel himself being hoisted up, yet he was not all there; feeling like this was some out of world experience a tiny grin crossed his face, this feeling of peace it felt nice...Safe, oh so very safe he was in the arms of this lady, her voice crawled through his skull still, yet unlike others it stayed, those words repeating themselves over and over. Her voice while soothing scared him, there was power in it, a fool could of seen it and maybe he was a fool but it angered him that he was saved. He has never needed anyone before, why does he need to know? And it wasn't like this was the first time, the past two jobs had been interfered with, people like this girl that held his weight were always there...Why though?

So many questions, no answers, he couldn't even speak currently, his voice gone for unknown reasons, and although he did indeed feel safe in these arms something about him beckoned with regret. Maybe it was the past catching up to him after all this time? Maybe his brother was right, there was some ounce of good in this vessel even if it was the equivalent to a pinch of salt.

.... fight .... vessel .... the force.
.... fight .... vessel .... the force.

Suddenly he snapped out of it, a large gasp and heavy breathing followed, his eyes, those intriguing eyes showed confusion not only with the events that transpired just now but with himself, inner-conflict plagued his body, mind, and soul. Her mummers were pleasant, faint enough for only one to hear yet loud enough for Tobasu to understand crystal clearly. He sighed at her remarks though, they were heading towards the nearby settlement it seemed. Indeed she had just helped him, and most likely will continue to for now, but did she deserve to know the reason. He contemplated the thoughts, doubt of her leaving him there to die was the first thought to cross his mid. But there was something about her, it wasn't her appearance or the little he could see of it that drew him in. He felt like she cared, for some unknown reason this girl cared for others, such an odd train of thought as he opened his mouth, a cough escaped before his voice matched hers in tone. "I'm here..."

Yes why was he here, Tobasu knew he didn't owe any more money to the Duros crew he worked with, he could of stopped a long time ago. Yet why did he continue to do these jobs, maybe it was the thrill or even possibly the credits. He didn't know himself, he was lost like a sheep with no Sheppard to guide him in the paddock of life. He stumbled a bit, obviously this injury was worse than it seemed, frostbite could happen at any time on Hoth and with an open wound that never equated to anything good. It was obvious he needed help, yet he wouldn't take anymore. "Fine...I'm fine."

.... fight .... vessel .... the force.

He struggled to talk, whispers became fainter and fainter. Tobasu pointed back to the hanger, "There."

It was clear he wanted to go back to the ship but it was really not up to him, in truth he couldn't walk on his own in this current state yet he would still try and get there. Stubborn and persistent two traits that could be considered by a strength and weakness, yet right now it was clear they were a weakness.

The boy's brief ramblings were growing fainter and fainter, which made her worry. She needed to get to the settlement before the frost began to eat away at his open flesh. The rough winds from earlier were now occupied by ice, the two elements joining together to force Akodya back. The harsh white clumps rained down on the pair as the padawan struggled through the thick snow, the layer of it now reaching her knees. Pulling more of his weight onto herself, she fumbled to pull his hood down more to shield his face, one of her gloves was being used as a cover for the wound. Mumbling the boy raised his arm weakly and pointed at the faint outline of the hanger behind them, a word that sounded very much like 'There' escaping his blue mouth.

"Sorry, we're not g-going back there. W-We need p-proper heating...j-just hold...hold on tight, we're almost there." She managed to say softly, the freezing temperature beginning to get to her. She really wished he had a speeder of some sort right now. She vaguely saw the silhouette of the settlement ahead, a smile tugging in her cold lips. Is this storm why her teacher hadn't come to meet her? He would have at least left her a message of some kind? With the air pushing against her Akodya shoved her free hand into her pocket and pulled out her comlink. One new message. Pressing a small button on the device, a crackling voice began to bomb from the speakers.

"Padawan Mune, I am afraid I am not going to be able to pick you up at the time we agreed, a large storm is heading in our direction and the whole town is on lock down. If you arrive on time, stay in the hanger, or you'll freeze. I will get to you as soon as I can."

Well that would have been handy to know half an hour ago! She thought to herself. Then again, she'd most likely been in this position anyway. There was no way she would have just let that band of men die out there. Readjusting herself, the Jedi mustered all the strength she could and hoisted the boy into her back, making him wrap his arms around her neck. She needed to get at that settlement, fast. Taking a deep breath the girl broke into a sprint. She was running at a pretty steady rate in spite of the resistance the snow was causing and the little extra weight. It was events like this that made her thankful for all the times she spent training rather than mucking about.

Sucking in the cold air sharply as she neared the walls of the settlement, a smile appeared on her lips, only to be removed a few moments later. The settlement guards were beginning to shut the massive metal gate that marked the entrance to the place.

"Wait! Let us in!" She yelled in between breaths as the glimpse of light in the opening of the doors began to fade.

"No one is allowed in after the alert." One yelled back down.

"Come on! h-he's hurt!" She yelled again.

"Wait...who are you?" The other guard asked.

"I'm Padawan Mune of the Jedi Order, I am here to study under Doctor Kakk Harvi!" She shouted, beginning to grow frustrated. Where any of these questions even needed? Two people could loose their lives in the cold, and here they were questioning them like criminals!

"OH! Harvi was talkin' about you. Let her in."

"But the rules are-"

"Just open the gate!"

And with that the doors creaked open for a brief second, just enough time for Akodya to slip in with the wounded boy on her back. The walls created a small break for a wind, the air was noticeably calmer once they shut the metal slab behind them. The guards gave her quick directions to where Kakk Harvi lived, before rushing to their own homes to escape the storm. Some help they were. Soon enough she arrived at the doctor's home, the girl shakily bashing the front door to let him know she was there.

"Who's there?" He said through a loud speaker, not opening the door.

"For kriffing sake NOT this again! It's padawan Mune! Now let me in before I turn into a ice sculpture!" She hissed, and the door swung open. Rushing inside, the pair were welcomed by a warm gush of air. The doctor stared at the padawan with wide eyes, his gaze jumping from her, to the boy, and back again.

"Who is that?" he asked.

"Does it matter? He's hurt." She responded, before gently placing the pale boy on a near by sofa. Removing the glove Akodya cringed at the wound, frost bite already munching away at the scorched skin. Tenderly placing her hand over the hole, the Jedi focused all her energy into it as a greenish glow began to radiate from her palm. Closing her eyes she muttered something under her breath.

"Heal..."

.... fight .... vessel .... the force.

Still to be conscious Tobasu fought his inner self. Conflicting ideals and thoughts crossed each other bounding to one another, causing his head to thump more. The echoes of the girl from before were still heard, her voice like water, pure in all its senses. He screamed for her to stop, to stop talking to him but of course his mind would not listen. Visions of the past plagued his view, his father, brother and mother were happy and then in the corner was him. Upset, screaming at them yet no words escaped his mouth....He could remember this time, long ago. His father brought a child home, said it was his brother, he cheated on her on him by bringing this spawn of another into the household. Yet his mother embraced this boy with open arms as if he was her own, it baffled him still to this day how he could let that happen. The picture faded.

He awoke, or thought he did. He was standing on nothing, there was nothing around him, just an abyss he screamed out. "Where am I?"

His voice echoed forever, following the paths he would seem to walk endlessly as the abyss didn't change it just stayed the same. Tobasu felt different though, he could feel the air around him, calling him in a sense. Yet no matter how loud this sensation was calling he could not hear it, maybe it was denial or possibly fear of the unknown but something held this seventeen year old back. The abyss faded as he collapsed, darkness consumed him and in a flash of light he exhaled at the top of his lungs. Large eyes opening as the crimson pupil darted all over the room. He was still breathing heavily as Tobasu saw two people. One was an elder man, the other that girl that helped him. He wished he could smile but in reality his eyes showed his gratitude. She was holding his wound still at this point, some form of keeping the wound close it would seem. He placed a hand on top of hers for only brief moments as when skin made contact something unusual happened. A spark between them, as he felt immense power for a brief moment, power he has never felt before.

.... the force.

The warmth that spark caused around his body made him relax, she had him like paddy in her little hands. Tobasu spoke, still quiet and faint yet remarkably louder from before. Perhaps it was because the sounds of the howling wind were stopped but it was clear what he said. "What was that?"

.... vessel ....

His question lingered in the air, scared but intrigued about what would happen next he sat up, her arms still upon his chest until as such a time she would of taken them off. He looked down at his shoulder, closed his eyes and sighed. Pinching the skin between his eyes he chuckled a tad. "I guess you saved me."

"Padawan Mune, I really think we should clean the wound before you try and do your...ah...Jedi magic on the boy." The doctor said hesitantly, causing the girl to raise both eyebrows. If her eyes were open at that point she would be glaring at him.

"My Jedi magic will clean it and more, Doctor." She said, a warning tone in her voice was unmistakable.

After a few long moments the eerie light that glowed around where her hand and the boy's ripped skin met slowly began to fade, and crimson eyes opened and flickered across the two people's faces. Her own eyes fluttering open, Akodya was hit by that cold, dark feeling once again. Akodya had never seen eyes of such color before. There was so darkened veins around his face nor any dark circles smeared under his lids, so it couldn't be due to dark side corruption. Maybe the boy was half alien? He seemed a little dazed as he grasped his new location, his fingers brushed along her hand still delicately held against his injury. The fair headed boy had the oddest expression on his face, the padawan figured it must be because he had never experienced force healing before. Before the boy sat him, he faintly mumbled a question, his voice stronger than it had been before.

"A healing technique." She stated, her voice strained. Healing often look a lot out of her. Once the teenager was sitting upright she let her arm fall loose at her side, her palm leaving his body. The place where the hole once was located was not nothing more then a small scratch. Cocking her head to the side, Akodya studied his reaction. It was almost if he was bothered by the fact she had saved him. Resisting the urge to scowl at him She crossed her arms over her chest.

"I guess I did." She sighed, turning to see the doctor waddle away into another room. She was still shivering as she adjusted to the new warm temperature. Pulling down her hood and untying her long dark hair and began shaking the last bits of snow that still remained stuck to the sleek strands. Doctor Harvi soon returned with two thick blankets and two bowls of what smelt like food. Handing the quilts to the padawan Akodya draped one over her shoulders before throwing the other at the boy so he could do with it as he pleased. Harvi placed the streaming bowls on a near by table, shooting them both a skeptical look.

"It's alright Doctor Harvi, I doubt he is going to pounce on you anytime soon." The padawan said, before turning her hazel gaze to the boy. She still couldn't get over how young he looked.

"Do you mind telling me your name?" She asked, flicking a loose bit of hair out of her face.

Even after all this girl had done, Tobasu couldn't trust her, in truth he didn't trust many and such feelings of faith was earned in his eyes not given. He was thrown a blanket, it looked cosy and under this heat the blanket would indeed be put to good use but before he even wrapped it around his shoulders he stood up briefly, walking over to the fire place he sighed. This girl did deserve answers after all. He was about to speak for a brief second but stopped, holding his tongue like a serpent waiting to strike he instead took off his jacket, it fell to the ground as he was not shameful of his appearance even in the compony of a female. The shirt he brought just for Hoth would now be taken off ruined with blood stained and torn to shreds from his right side he took it off. Golden tendrils of hair fell down to his back, glimmering against the artificial light he turned around with the answer to her question...Finally.

His pale body was exposed, blue and red lines were visible as if he was transparent, his body untouched from any blemishes or bruisers besides this lone scar now resting upon his right shoulder. His eyes flickered as if he was to ignore the other male here, he was unimportant anyway. "My name. I guess I owe you that much. Tobasu...Tobasu Blackout."

His voice carried weight, as if it pained him to say. Yet even with such emotion in his eyes his face was blank like a porcelain doll. He draped the blanket over him as he sat down a few inches away from the fire and although there was food on offer, he could not take such 'pity' from anyone. His pride could be compared to Lucifers and when the boy made his mind up, he was adamant in his decisions. "I thank you for the hospitality, sir. But I must go."

From his pants he took out credits, tossing the unusually large sum of 3,000 credits across the room to make it land on the table. He got up once again, it would seem like he was agitated and in truth he was, small spaces with groups like this made him uneasy to say the least. Making his way over to the door the man, the doctor slammed it back shut before he could even open it mere centimetres. He was told he was staying until it was safe to leave and with a sigh Tobasu slouched down into the chair, in front of him was still a bowl of food, he would not swallow his pride however and eat it still.

"Your name?" He darted his eyes once again upon the female, fixated on her features he examined her from head to toe. She was no older than him, possibly a year or two. There was an aura around him, it was interesting to see. As if he could see around her or possibly threw her? It was interesting, something was a weight, it was there but wasn't at the same time and the only thing Tobasu could put this metaphysical phenomena too was the recent events. He shook his head as he spoke again, "How did you heal me without any medipacks or even a droid?"

It wasn't like he was stupid, even if this man was a doctor he could not just touch someone and heal him. But this girl, why could she? Tobasu quickly remembered back to Tatooine, that girl he meet there; she said she was some kind of sorceress. Yet surely such thing didn't exist, that girl was pulling his leg but now, what has just happened made him think twice. Questioning himself with doubt, this was never a good sign, so here he sat in a wooden chair of sorts with a blanket covering his exposed body, the smell of fabric burning wasn't the worst but it was definitely noticeable.

The boy stood up and wondered to the fireplace. He looked down at her with hesitant eyes, as if deciding what he should say in response. I only asked for his name? what was the problem? She thought, staring back up at him. He opened his mouth as if he was going to speak before shutting it quickly. Instead of answering Akodya, the young man began to peel if the remains of his now ruined jacket and shirt. Out of politeness the padawan quickly turned away and waited for him to cover up once more. It wasn't until he officially introduced himself that she reluctantly faced him once again.

"Tobasu Blackout? Interesting name." She said, tearing the name apart in her head as she searched for any hint of culture or meaning. Nothing. Akodya noted the heaviness of his voice as he spoke. It caused him pain to speak his own name? What could have happened to a boy of his age to make him sound so aged? Finally wrapping himself in the blanket provided and sat away from her, near the table on which the food had been placed. Quickly tossing some credits onto the table he rose again and made his way to the door. Akodya panicked. The doctor however made it to the exit before her and slammed a large hand on the door. No one leaves when their is a storm out. Looking rather disappointed he scurried back into the main room and slumped into a chair Not really paying attention to his food his eyes darted back into Akodya once again, studying her intensely. It was as if he was trying to figure out if she was even real.

"Akodya." She replied to his question. It was better if Tobasu just knew her Coruscanti first name it this point. She still didn't completely trust him. "I healed you with the force...It's a common practice among Jedi Healers." She explained, giving the boy a confused look. She though he would have figured out by now what she was, and what she could do. Everyone in the galaxy knew of the Jedi Order...did this kid somehow not? Is that why he was looking at her with such doubt in his eyes? Akodya began to tie her hair back up into it's usual knot, her tawny gaze not leaving the boy's face.

"What do you think I am, Tobasu?" She asked with a gentle voice, not wanting to cause the kid any stress after what had happened in the snow. Letting her hands fall back to her lap, she pulled the blanket tighter around herself.

The force? What a funny joke, how was he suppose to believe that she could just touch someone and heal them. This girl was hilarious, her jokes had bad taste and she talked as if she was serious. He could not help himself but go into an 'hysterical' kind of mode, as if she flipped the on switch. He gave a big grin to the girl, surely she was pulling his leg. Like really did she truly expect he would take the idea of those mythical jedi people he had heard about as a child to be truth. No, it must of been all fiction.

He scorned at her in a mocking way, Akoyda was a pretty name it didn't sound very spacer like, you could say it sounded more noble while his name was rough, it showed his life was tough...According to him anyway. The question she asked was indeed an opening to make some kind of wise crack at her, well that's what he does and this time was just like any other. "Well I thought you were some kind of wookieslaver. Guess not huh?"

Although he had heard stories of people who could wield magic and use it for his bidding, he was too old for such fairy tales and fables, this girl although treating him like a kid was truly far from it. Leaving home at such a young age forced him to become older than he is, he might seem young but in truth he could be considered years older. Sadly ones age is judged on their mentality. He spoke his voice were like choirs of angels at this point, the pain expelling from his tone as he seemed fine, the captivating tone of sirens were deadly just as his, "Honestly, I have heard myths of such people...Jedi. Yet I have never seen one, I don't think anyway. But I guess if your suppose to be some protector of light then you would of left me for dead."

He was blunt, oh so blunt. One of the reasons he couldn't grow to close, the way he spoke and treated people while fine to him wasn't really okay, he couldn't lie to someone not because it wasn't right but because he was just too blunt and obvious. Numerous jobs during his career as a smuggler, if not every single dammed job ends up with blaster fire because the doll like boy was just brutally too honest for his own good. "You remind me of my younger brother, I don't know much about him but he was like you. Always trying to save everyone. But you need to learn, just like him..."

He stopped for a brief second, tension built in his voice as large orbs closed, remembering his younger brother screaming at him tell Tobasu he was a good guy, he didn't need to leave. "Not everyone is worth saving."

Was he...was he mocking her?

A angry expression twisted onto the padawan's face. He seriously didn't believe her? Akodya just healed his wounds with the force and he doesn't believe her? wasn't that enough proof? His face quickly changed into one of a mad man, a hysterical grin spreading across his face. Maybe he had the back of his head hit with the hilt of a blaster and she didn't notice? Still smirking at her he made his quip and Akodya rolled her eyes, her back straightening. She was not to react to his comment.

Words Akodya didn't exactly appreciate still poured from his mouth like his brain had no filter. He was terribly blunt, even more blunt than herself. Even so his tone of voice was calm and controlled, Tobasu had mastered the art of deceiving. Of course, Akodya was able to sence right through them. This young man was struggling. Akodya could feel his inner turmoil radiating of him if she stared for to long. What ever it was Tobasu Blackout must have one heck of a story, and his next statement just confirmed it.

If you're suppose to be some protector of the light then you would have left me for died.

What an awful thing to say.

Scowling at him Akodya locked her gaze onto his, her jaw tightening. Being raised as a Jedi Akodya had been taught many things, and one of those lessons was all life was valuable, even if darkness had consumed it. It frustrated her to think someone would just through their life away like that. For no reason at all. Glaring at the porcelain boy with eyes ablaze, Akodya began to speak.

"If someone can be saved, I save them. Everyone deserves life even if they don't think they do themselves." She replied, her voice a little raised. "I think you need to learn a little something from your brothers ideals."

Standing up and letting the blanket fall from her shoulders she rested her hands on her hips. "As for your doubt in my Order, I am pretty sure you have been living under a rock. The Jedi have been thriving for years and years..." She said, dryly gesturing to the saber that was still tied to her belt. Raising a open palm at the near by table, Akodya directed her focus in one of the food bowls. Smiling a little she flicked her wrist and the dish hovered over the table and slowly made it's way toward her, gliding in mid air. Once reaching it's destination Akodya snatched it with her free hand, before giving the boy a smug look.

He smiled at her, maybe this was the first genuine smile he gave her but the response she had given was defiantly one he expected. But when she scrunched her face and rolled her eyes he gave a chuckle, it unlike anything that had happened seemed natural. "You're cute when your annoyed."

She stood up, roughly the same height he wasn't expecting this to happen. The bowl while at first only moved slowly but then suddenly it rushed forward, launching itself off the table. She caught it, quite impressive. He was indeed shocked, a little but still she had proven her point. The idea of moving objects with ones thoughts, it was indeed an impressive display. Being the wise guy he was, Tobasu got up as well taking off the blanket however as it dropped he put his foot under it only the slightest gap from one of the table legs to his foot. He spoke with such pride and arrogance, "What you do, any normal person can do."

He stuck his tongue out for a brief moment, then returned to that neutral stone cold look of his. He put out his right arm and focused. It was most likely she would see through his ruse, however he still went ahead, edging the table with his foot it rocked, only slowly and steady however but to an untrained eye it would of seem that Tobasu himself was gifted with such powers like this 'jedi'. The doctor couldn't believe it, his eyes opened saying such things as how on earth did the council not notice a force sensitive, and other things along the lines. None of it made sense to Tobasu however. He stopped knocking the table yet even though he did stop for a brief few seconds unknowingly to even Tobasu the bowl still shook only for mere moments. The first signs of his force sensitivity were emerging...

"You know, my brother well he isn't really my brother but you get the idea of what I'm saying. He once told me he could save me, I laughed at him before I left again. There are some people in the world where chaos has corrupted the soul, torn through flesh and just made them live because the purpose of chaos to antagonize things. So imagine, wanting to just die, but you can't because these feelings keep you alive."

He took a breath sitting down once again, he continued. "So if you truly wanted to save someone then you would save me by killing me now. Set me free."

He walked closer to her arms opened standing right before her ready to be slaughtered like a lamb. She wouldn't do it though, he knew it.

This nihilistic view on life, where would a kid acquire such belief, it was obvious he wasn't joking quite the opposite in fact. He wasn't looking for pity though, he wanted to delve into her mind, find out how she works. He could tell this girl could read him, but could he really. In the stories as a kid, the man he hated the most his father told him that Jedi's could read feelings, he also said if you gave them false feelings they would not notice. This was what he was doing, it was quite obvious it was working too because of her earlier reactions. While his eyes did show his true feelings, he had never meet anyone who could read them like him, he let people read them meaning there were things he hasn't show to anyone. Yet why would he keep such secrets, it was even unknown to Tobasu himself, he just knew people like this girl could not be trusted. Protectors of light, lords of darkness he really did know all about them, well as much as rumours and myths will tell you and Tobasu was always cautious one even when he was reckless and currently at this point of time he didn't feel safe so he threw barricades and hurdles up, made iron walls surrounding his mind. This person, this thing would not read him.

The padawan scrunched up her nose at Tobasu's remark. She was most definitely not cute when she was angry. Sticking his tongue out childishly he showed the first sign of the youth that was still hidden in him, before his expression changed back to a harshness Akodya was growing used to seeing on his doll like face. With his eyes meeting hers with a challenging spark, he stood up and showed his own flavor of 'magic'. Akodya could see through the trick, and it was not nearly as amusing as Tobasu seemed to think it was. The doctor still watched with wide eyes until the padawan shot him a dry look. Turning back to the cheap show of manipulation, Something caught her attention. A small pang hit her chest as she gawked at the bowl...at the end...did he...?

No, of course he didn't.

Blinking a little Akodya regained her composure in order to defend her earlier statement. "All things can be fixed one way or another, and wounds can heal. Just like the hole in your shoulder." She said in a matter-of-fact voice.

In the time she turned around Tobasu had walked over to her with open arms, testing her. It took her a moment to figure out what he was doing, and when she clicked her eyes turned to slits. Her fingers twitched ever so slightly at the intensity in his gaze. He was a mad man, completely nuts. Placing her hands on her hips she stared back it him, scrutinizing every detail of his face, hunting for any traces of his past on his face. Although he talked a big game, she doubted he had nothing to life for besides chaos. There must be something, or someone that kept him alive. He just needed a purpose, something to put him on the right track. Ignoring his death wish, she crossed her arms again.

"You are force sensitive." She said, disregarding the past conversation.

"You say you have purpose other than destruction. Would you like something to live for?" She asked, her body relaxing and her icy tone melting away.

This girl was naive. Fixing things that were broken, he was human there was no fixing. Unlike a droid or machine you could replace their parts, replace them yet humans or even aliens they weren't replaceable. Each life was its own and nothing would compare to it in its own right, he waited and waited, seeing if she would draw her weapon upon him and when she did not he smiled. It was real, maybe sincere but he knew for the moment this girl had earned trust. He sighed, gently and quietly he felt uncomfortable in such a small room with one too many people, but this girl did have some kind of point to what she was saying yet he would never acknowledge such things, he wasn't one to give in easily. His pride was like hers, they were so similar it was ironic in fact, possibly more than they both realized but it didn't really matter.

He ran a hand over his shoulder, it was still stiff however Akodya did do a good job to heal it, he assumed so anyway really having no prior experience like this to compare it too. Yet the only scar that marked his body was something he would keep, he spoke. "Something's like my shoulder, don't need to be fixed more than it is. This scar, is proof I lived, even if it is shameful it is a story I want to remember."

He refrained himself from speaking anymore, before he said something cheesy, plus the doctor who had nothing better to do or say but just stood there watching the two converse was certainly a little creepy. He made way to the bed he was originally brought too, sitting down he looked at his hands, something felt strange and still Tobasu could not say what this feeling was. Then she said something about being force sensitive, my god this women could of been a court jester because her jokes were funny, Tobasu was suppose to a republic solider or that's what he wanted to be and now this girl says he is force sensitive, whatever does that mean anyway?

"What do you mean force sensitive? Because if your referring to the table trick, it was just that a trick."

"But it isn't an open wound is it? it has been closed up and the sickness that was there removed. The scar is a memory of what was once there...but it is not broken anymore." She responded. She was not one to just give in when trying to make a point. Everything in this galaxy can be brought into the light, this boy, a sith....and even herself.

"I know it was a trick, I'm not stupid. I am referring to an ability I doubt you knew you had." She said with a small smirk. He still wasn't taking her seriously. Walking over to where he now sat she looked down at him with a strange look in her eyes. How could he go this far in his life without noticing it himself? was it common for people not to recognize their own talents? Akodya's brow furrowed. Come to think of it, half the Jedi in the temple had been found rather than went on their own gut feeling. Although, he had to suspect he was a little bit different from other beings he had encountered.

The Doctor seemed to be a bit weirded out by the confrontation and had slipped deeper into the house and out of the front room, leaving the two to converse.

"Tell me, despite floating around, hopping from planet to planet when you should be IN SCHOOL, Have you ever been able to...do things others can't?" She asked in a low voice.

(OOC: Sorry for the shortness, the next one will be better I promise)

Although this girl did tempt to fight back with him, Tobasu much to his dismay decided that is was just like talking back to a brick wall. She was too stubborn for her own good, it made him laugh as when she spoke a small smile lurked across his face. But what made him really laugh was when she told him, she was not stupid, he could not help but burst out and give a cold laugh, as to say he knew that but saying what she just said proved she wasn't as smart as originally intended. By this time however, the doctor or was he a business man? Tobasu couldn't remember by now, his presence was insignificant to the current scenario. He feel deeper into the house, giving both of them their due privacy.

The last comment about being in school irked him a little, he was around the same age as her if anything she should be the one in school. Don't those jedi types, always have to go to school. His mind answering questions in an array of vivid responses, from polite to being rude, even to the extent at swearing at her yet he didn't do anything, he simply sighed at her, rolling his eyes what was he to say? It was such a trivial question, did he really need to answer it? By the girls face, it was obvious he did indeed, she looked more demanding at this point, this didn't make him nervous but he still kept his guard up, building a mirror between them, he would only let our cracks of information.

"First off, I'm likely a year younger than you, maybe two if that. Whether or not I go to school or not is really none of your concern, not everyone has the capacity to learn from a book, some gain knowledge through experience." He didn't snarl at her like before, but he did make his annoyance known, he didn't like getting treated like a kid and I'm sure she didn't either. So why couldn't she of just left that comment out? Another sigh.

"But I'll indulge your inquisitiveness, firstly I hop from planet to planet not because I choose too, or even that I want to. It's something I have to do. Maybe you can't understand that, being a so called defender of peace and bringer of light, I heard your all sheltered little brats, maybe that's why you couldn't kill me...hmm?"

He continued to speak, his voice showing the philosophical side to the young man, as crimson eyes darted back and forth and hands ran through strands of golden hair. "I am me, what I can do a is a manifestation of my own skill, so yeah something I can possibly do better than others, something's you could do better than me. I don't go sending bowls off tables into my hand to catch like you. Also why are you talking so quietly?"

Her question made him curious, surely the two would be talking into the night now, even though it was late already. Tobasu just had a feeling that she wouldn't shut up anytime soon. But something about her did compel him to listen and not just block her out, he did feel safe around her. Maybe that was it, he had never felt safe in a long time. Its most likely cause she has that weapon, yeah that's it...

Akodya may have been able to resist reacting to the young man's harsh response. She might have walked away. She might have even shook it of there and then...but he had called her sheltered. He spat the word as if her Order and herself had never felt pain or suffering. Never seen the horrors that beings can do to one another. Anger slowly bubbled up inside of her as memories she had been struggling to surpress flooded to the surface of her mind and drowned her with her own regret and guilt. A sudden urge to thrust her lightsaber hilt at his face and press the emitter under his chin and just hover her finger over the activation button. Instead she looked him dead in the eye, her iris loosing their warmth.

"Never, EVER call me sheltered, Blackout." She hissed, her hand instinctively curling around her scarred wrist.

The boy had nerve, she'd give him that. It was a trait that would more than likely get him killed one day. Plus the fact he continued to mock her, and what she stood for a person, what she had been her WHOLE LIFE, made her bristle with rage. Although he was maturer than a lot of people his age, he was still ignorant. She was starting to believe that this boy was so absorbed in his own crisis he forgot about people around him. Tobasu soon asked why she was speaking quietly, and she let out yet another frustrated sigh.

"I am talking quietly because it is late, and our host might be going to sleep soon...also...I don't think he is keen on my folk. He was very reluctant to take me under his wing for this trip." she admitted, calming down a little.

Burying herself deeper into the blanket Akodya walked back to the soft chair she had been perched in earlier and wrapped herself up. Also you could not hear the storm though the density of the walls, it was still very much there. She should have brought more of her own creature comforts to share with her host.

"Lets just forget about the last conversation..." she muttered.

He chuckled, he clearly had no respect for this man's home. This girl was too funny, but he could read her. Every comment he made, irked her. She wanted to give in to those urges, she didn't want to heal him anymore, she would of rather harmed him. He was okay with this, maybe it was masochism talking or maybe Tobasu just enjoyed living on the wild side, a fast paced life where death was near at every corner, this was his life since he left Dantooine and the latter was most likely the answer.

"If you're going to kill me do it, you think I can't see it in your face? The anger, it's obvious." His voice matched hers, but it still was quite loud, he really couldn't care if the man couldn't sleep. What did he expect when he let the two of them in. Although he was thankful, Tobasu didn't respect this man something about him was suspicious, yet he couldn't lay a finger on it.

A small sigh escaped, he seemed to be doing that a lot, the emptiness in him was building, consuming him and every time he sighed it would escape a bit. One could feel it through their bones, it was yearning to be heard. Noticing the girl sunk deeper in her blanket, he grabbed his and threw it at her. He still wore no top but he was warm, or use to the coldness by now and although it would be unadvised it did not faze him at all. Looking down at her he nodded to move to another conversation, after all this house was no battlefield.

"Tell me, Akodya, where are you from? Also why did you become a jedi?"

Another test was due, this time he would test her morals. Did she follow her instinct or what she was told? There was two type of people in the world, the sheep and the sheppard and although sheppard can descended to sheep, the sheep cannot ascend to sheppards...Once a follower always a follower and this girl seemed like a follower but he would wait with a curious look on his face, chest exposed and pale skin getting paler, as if he was sick.

"I. Don't. Kill. I think that point was already made." She said, his chuckle grating on her nerves. She was going to turn away from him when he did the oddest thing...he gave her his blanket. Giving the boy a suspicious look she wrapped it around herself, a small thank you leaving her lips softer and more endearing then she intended.

With the help of the second quilt she felt her body grow warmer, killing the cold air around her. Color she had lost braving the elements had now returned to her, her skin maintaining it's natural glow once again. Peering over the mass of fabric that was draped over her she saw Tobasu was still not entirely clothed. His skin was ridiculously pale and smooth, almost like a doll made of china. It was so white, yet so breakable. She felt embarrassed looking at him when he was like that, so she turned away a little. How was he not cold? When he asked his next question, her eyes widened just a little bit.

No one had actually ever asked her that before.

"I was born on Corellia. Although I didn't stay there very long. A Jedi found me and took me to the temple when I was three...I was raised there." She said simply, as if there were nothing odd about that at all. "I have always been a Jedi, really...where were you born?"
