Strengths:

  • Efficiency: Improved efficiency throughout the engine system, allows for an overall improvement in auxiliary systems which translates into increased response times as well as an overall improvement from ship power ratings, and power transfer ratings.

  • Speed and Maneuverability: These two components are improved to a predetermined maximum rating for both categories.
Weaknesses:

  • Ion/EMP: Like any typical hyperdrive engine it is vulnerable to Ion/EMP weaponry which can shut down all systems.

  • Sabotage: Should someone be able to board the ship it’s on, it can be sabotaged to create a critical shutdown/failure or backfire into a frozen failure.

  • Traced: The CFE is able to be traced to ordinary means, and even leaves behind a unique trail to follow making it and the ship it’s equipped on easier to find.

  • Frozen: This is triggered by torpedo hits to the engine, sabotaged by a border either manually or remotely. In which the engines completely freeze over and causes a blowback whereby all plasma conduits freeze (causing system wide shutdowns) which can cause critical system failures throughout the ship.
DESCRIPTION:
After receiving a substantial investment from [member="Jorus Merrill"] and the Outer Rim Coalition, Primo Victoria went back to looking at the Crystal Fused Engine. With investments in place the company began to secure mining stations in the Outer Rim. This in part was to begin to produce their own synthetic Permafrost crystal since Hoth was no longer a readily available option. So the third generation incorporates both some of the last stock of permafrost crystals from Hoth and their new synthetic product.

By turning to synthetic crystals the CFE lost the benefit of providing turbolaser systems with an increased rate of fire and cutting power. Instead, the synthetic crystals work only to create a better and vastly improved heatsink.

This also allowed Primo Victoria to redesign the fusion chambers and ultimately create a cleaner engine. After the fusion chambers were redesigned the company pushed to see if the new engine could be utilized for ships beyond the second generation mark of 880m.

As it turned out it could, right at about the 1880m mark was where the tests concluded that they could safely support. Granted this meant that the engine rooms would have to take up a vast majority of the ship, but this would be something to consider in the fourth generation mark. For now, they had succeeded in supporting larger vessels and incorporated synthetic crystal technology.

Meaning that they could move on without relying on Hoth.

The engine itself once more boosts a greater efficiency than most because these crystals draw heat away from critical components. Additionally, the ElectroFrost Plasma or EFP that had been developed in the second generation is further explored in the third generation which enables the engine an improved rate of power transfer and system response times.

Lastly, after a series of tests, the CFE-G3M5 will soon be readily available to shipwrights within the Outer Rim Coalition and more specifically to the Wretched Hivehttp://starwarsrp.net/topic/107041-the-wretched-hive/.

Note: Will submit crystal at a later date.
